I had my wedding in beautiful kauai on feb 5^th 2016. I waited last minute to find someone to do my hair and makeup. I researched all of kauai for the best makeup artist I could find. Finally decided to go with kristy but she was booked up so misti (kristys assistant) called me back and was available the day i needed her. I was a little hesitant at first but after looking at her work on instagram (glambymisti) I decided to go with her. Since i was traveling from the mainland I was unable to do a trial run. Misti was very accommodating, she came to my condo so I wouldn’t have to worry about being late to my wedding. She was punctual and very professional. Makeup was exactly what i wanted and hair was on point. I wanted a glam yet natural look and she hit it spot on. I showed her a few pics I found on pinterest and she was able to translate it into what i wanted. She is very knowledgeable in current trends and up to date in all things beauty. If your in kauai for a special occasion or just want to look fab then you need to see misti! Thank you again misti for making me beautiful on my special day! Mahalo!

I wish I could have actually written a review on the quality of the work at The Lab. Unfortunately, after multiple attempts on my part to contact the company through both email and leaving several voicemails, no one ever returned a call or email. I was looking forward to having my hair and makeup done for my wedding next month. It’s very unprofessional to not even call a potential client back when they have requested information about pricing and booking. Very unimpressed. Luckily I found someone else who promptly replied.

I really like this place. Michelle Austria took me in on a short notice. I like the atmosphere and it didn’t feel like a crowded salon. She made me and my son feel comfortable. I will definitely come back for a touch up.

Kristy was amazing! We got married in Kauai June 2013 and I went to the LAB for hair and makeup. I lucked out finding her through an Internet search and her reviews. Her salon is beautiful and she made me feel so relaxed and comfortable during my appointment. She got it spot on for what I had in mind… this can be stressful for a bride trusting someone they’ve never met. From the moment I met her I was confident she would make me look beautiful for our special day. I would definitely recommend Kristy!

Great place with very talented and Professional people ! Go check out the store right next door to them called Kalaheo Music and Strings they have some great Kauai made products and also teach Ukulele there! Ask for Ron and if he is there ask him to play you «The Perfect Day»

Kristy did my bridal hair and makeup for my destination wedding. Both turned out gorgeous, I have never felt so pretty! My hair was a soft romantic side swept up-do…which was bomb proof. Literally did not move for the duration of photographs, ceremony, dinner and dancing afterwards. Highly recommend Kristy. She is very talented and a very nice lady!

My sister and I had appts with Kristy last week. It is a pretty fancy place, especially for Kalaheo.
Kristy really takes her time and takes pride in her work. She spent a good hour on my sister and almost the same on my hair. She and her assistant are friendly and made us feel comfortable.
I was surprised at the reasonable pricing for such a nice salon. I will certainly return and hope I am not the only guy who gets their cuts here, lol.

Ian Clements, a Hair Stylist from Honolulu, is now on Kauai! He comes highly recommended. He specializes in men’s cuts! Great prices too! The Lab is a professional salon for both men & woman & kids.

Kristy is Awesome!!! She came to my hotel to do my Wedding hair and makeup on October 12,2012. She did my hair and makeup exactly how i wanted it. My Wedding pictures turned out fabulous. Anyone getting married in Kauai should use her. Thank You Kristy again

I went to Kristy on the second day of my honeymoon for a PWC (post-​wedding chop). I had been growing out my hair for a year and half for the wedding and I was done with it as soon as that last camera flashed! I’m not sure she knew what she was getting into when I walked through the door, but she was great. She was so nice and did a fantastic job. Her prices are super reasonable too!

Kristy is fantastic! She gave me a better haircut than all my stylist on the mainland, and for at least half the price I had ever paid. She is very talented. I am moving back to the mainland and am so bummed I will lose her. Go to her and you will never want to go to anyone else.

I got married on Kauai and had the unenviable task of trying to find someone to do my hair and makeup while living on the mainland and never previously visiting Kauai. Since none of my friends have gotten married here, I wasn’t able to ask anyone for a recommendation for hair and makeup. I can’t even remember how I found Kristy, but I am so glad I did! I booked her for a trial run for hair and makeup so that I could find out how well my hair and makeup would hold up under Kauai’s sometimes withering, hair-​flattening heat. Kristy accommodated for my hair’s determined straightness and my hair and makeup lasted several hours through a late afternoon outdoor ceremony, several hours of pictures and a reception. I’ve never, EVER looked as good as I did on my wedding day– my friends raved about my hair and makeup and I have worked with some exceptional stylists before! I discovered that Kristy used to work for one of the tv networks in LA before moving back to Hawaii to raise a family and I am pretty confident that there isn’t a better stylist living anywhere in Hawaii. If you get married here, this is the place to go for hair and makeup! Be sure to book early too!

The LAB is, by far, THE BEST salon on Kauai! The salon itself is a little gem — it’s very chic and hip. Kristy Love, the owner, is very professional and a FANTASTIC stylist, colorist and makeup artist. I’ve had my hair thermally straightened and colored for 10+years before I moved to Kauai and Kristy did a better job than my former stylist on the mainland, and I thought she was great! I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair. Go see her — you’ll be thrilled with the results!
