Baymont Inn & Suites Kalamazoo East

I stayed there June 18 2016. Actually I was glad to find that hotel. I’ve had better but 80 bucks for the night. Bed was soft clean. The room is nothing special but good for the night. My first room had no air the I was moved and I had good air condition. I seen nothing more than a spider which I didn’t like, but there was other hotels around and for the price and I went to three others hotels before I picked and I came running back. the other places were nasty. This place was good. I left 6 hours before check out they give breakfast can say how it was. If this hotel don’t dip any lower I will stay again when in town. But giving what I know I will have and extra 50or so bucks ready to pay for these call better ones. I can’t do nasty.

This was my second stay here at this location. First time was for 5 days, this past time for a week. This hotel served my purposes perfectly. Convenient location makes it easy to get on I-​94 for travel, and is mostly a quiet location. Price was perfect. Staff here has always been helpful and friendly. Reading some of these other reviews makes me wonder what type of expectations they had of this place. It is a low cost basic place to stay. If they wanted better, they could have gone just less then a quarter mile and pay another $ 50 a night.

Dirty, poorly maintained, with sub-​par staff.
The public spaces are unkempt, with litter remaining on the floors for days at a time. Parking lot and grounds are neglected. Building is old and shabby.
The guest room I was given smelled funky, had non-​closing curtains, thoroughly worn out bedsheets, horrifying towels, and dirty bathroom fixtures.
On top of that, no housekeeping for two days. I was out of the room at 8:30 am, removed the ‘do not disturb’ sign, and… nothing. At 12:30, nobody had been in, and the housekeeping staff had all «gone home.»
There’s more; it’s just too much to think about.
There are better properties nearby; go there instead. Avoid Baymont at all costs.

This place is a great hotel. The rooms are comfortable, clean and a great value.

We had stayed at this hotel as it was one of the locations the hotel rewards program I am part of, recommended, also because this is one of the chains I can get points for.
We were from out of state and we had heard some pleasant things about Kalamazoo. This hotel is actually pretty nice. The other reviews that claim this place is dirty, please disregard those. Maybe they got the cheap rooms on the second floor that are motel style, which once you open the door, you are outside. I booked a room at the top on the third floor and got two queen beds. The third floor is just like how a hotel should be. Carpeting in the hallways and no exposure to the outdoors unlike the second floor. Check out photos of this place to see what I mean.
The customer service here was great! The gentleman at the front desk, whom I believe was the manager, greeted us happily and welcomed us with positivity. Since we were from out of state and never been to Kalamazoo, the man told us the many fun things we could do. We had no agenda or plans aside from visiting the breweries so he gave us a cool map that showed us all the breweries and other great eateries in this great town. Even at night when we forgot an adapter for our phone charger, one of the ladies at the front desk gave us directions to the closest place that would have an adapter. I am glad she knew the town very well!
The rooms were clean, the bathrooms did not have stains or weird marks on them, the beds were clean and crisp, overall the room was great. Although I would have liked a bigger TV as my vision isn’t the best. The TV was a bit too small for a hotel room. My only other complaint was that the price is just a tad overpriced. That explains my 4-​star rating. But overall, this hotel provided great service, it was clean, has a pool (which we didn’t have time to go swimming), offers free complimentary breakfast and WiFi. I felt this place was better than I thought. I definitely want to come back to Kalamazoo and Baymont Inn, in the near future.

This hotel is filthy and run down. The price is outrageous given the quality of the room and the substandard breakfast. I expected much better given the rate of $ 125 per night. The carpets and walls in the hallway are in extreme need of cleaning, paint and repair. The room was the same. There was a small red couch that was stained with large spots of black dirt. One of the lampshades was stained and appeared to be spattered with a dark liquid. The bathroom and tub were old and in need of cleaning and updating. The housekeeping staff is not properly cleaning or reporting issues with the rooms and it is clear that there is no inspection of housekeeping’s shoddy work. The alarm clock and lamps in the room were unplugged so we had to plug them in and then set the clock.

Hotel is under construction. Key cards dont work, our room was not cleaned fully one day, (trash not taken out, empty pizza box left with dirty plates), TV was nonfunctional. We politely asked for help getting our TV to work, the front desk offered us no hell whatsoever and said «well, everyone else’s TVs are working». We called the Baymont inn 1 – 800 number, and got even worse customer service. at the end of the day, we ended up getting a new room with a functional TV, but this was more than 2 hours since our T. V was unfuncional. Our stay was less than pleasant, unfortunately; no customer service!

Booked through Hotwire as a 2.5 star. The staff was friendly but admitted it was a 1 star. It is pretty dirty and definitely a 1 star. Just be aware.
