If I could give them lower than 1 star I would. I put in a reservation that was confirmed by and then drove 2 hours to get here. The front desk informed me that their internet had been down and my reservation couldn’t be honored. They did not offer to help me find another hotel, even when asked, so I was on my own. I finally found a room at the Knights Inn in Battle Creek, which was another fun adventure. I will definitely not be back here, I understand that things happen, but they did not try to be accommodating or provide decent customer service at all.

Great value for the price! Better than I expected based on previous reviews. Staff was so friendly, rooms were clean and renovated, beds were comfy, and breakfast was standard. Internet was free! And great pool! If you have to be in Kalamazoo, this is a great and affordable place to stay. I would recommend and would stay again!

I feel bad for this location, because it tries so hard. Yet you can only do so much with the cards you are dealt. The Good: + Breakfast and dinner are included. The selections aren’t amazing, but it’s free, damn it! + Friendly staff + FREEINTERNET! WOOHOO! The Bad: — Creaking floors. It sounded like there were dancing hippos in the room above mine. — Exterior doors in a cold environment. This means the heater is right by the window, so to fight the temperature gradient issue it’s constantly on in the winter. — Worn interior. — Average bed, but horribly flat pillows. — Thin towels. The next time I come into town for work, I’ll definitely be staying somewhere else.

Bottom of the Fairfield Inn ladder. Very bottom. It’s still a Fairfield, so it gets 2 stars — better than a Motel 6 or Days Inn, who typically get one star. Good: — Free food at night between 5:30ish and 7:30ish. I’ve seen Chinese food, hot dogs, and a couple other things. It could substitute for dinner if you’re not picky. — Continental breakfast is better than others, with a couple hot dishes that look like someone whipped them up at home and brought them in. Not a bad thing. — The rates are usually quite good, at around $ 79. That’s cheap for a Fairfield. Bad: — Doors of the rooms open to the outside. Only the lowest quality motels offer this«feature.» — Rooms look like they had a remodel multiple years ago. Pretty sad shape. Tube TVs. Grody doors, HVAC, etc. — No closets — just a rod near the«bathroom,» much like cheaper motels. In all, it’s a cheap motel with a Fairfield Inn brand badge. If you’re a sucker for Marriott points, and have business in the area, go for it. Otherwise, avoid it.

The web site for this property states that the rooms have been renovated. This is NOT true. We stayed in a room that was so substandard that I am shocked that they allowed guests to stay in it. The carpets were torn, the bathroom walls had black mold growing on them, the bathroom vent was completely clogged with dirt/dust, the mattress was like sleeping on a bed of nails. I asked to be moved to a renovated room, per the web site photo gallery, but was told that although some rooms had newer TVs, none has been renovated. Oh, if you need an outlet for a cell phone or lap top, you will have to crawl around on the floor to find one, or unplug the TV. I was told that Marriott is re-branding Fairfield Inns and the new ones are REALLY nice. But the old ones are still under contract with Marriott and there is not much they can do about it. This property is far below the Marriott standard. Room Tip: Find out the age of the hotel and only stay in new properties.

Heh. This place is kind of ghetto but my dear companion did make a comment about the proximity to Arby’s … if you’re into that sort of thing. It’s a bit of a motel but I allowed William Shatner of Priceline(and STARTREK) fame select it for me. You’ve done better, Shatner, but it was fine for a place to crash for the night. I believe they gave us breakfast, and I can dig on that.

Lovely room but didn’t like that it was accessible directly from outdoors. There are restaurants within walking distance, but not exactly a «scenic» location. They were flexible with the length of my stay.
