Due to the superficial paint and minor updates this hotel isn’t too bad. With that being said its not too good either. It’s more like a meh. The rooms themselves are nice. The bed was comfortable and room was clean, but the bathroom was pretty dated and in need of some tlc. Pool area was down right spooky. Really bad lighting, a broken hottub, and the algae stains on the pool deck gave me the feeling I was at the slog, just without all the tarberries floating in the water. The breakfast was nicely stocked and have plenty of options for the kids. I really have no complaints about it.

I came to this ‘off the highway’ section of Kalamazoo for a show at the Wings Event Center. It also happened to be my wife’s birthday, so we were celebrating! I called every hotel in this area(8 in total) to see if they had a jacuzzi suite available. Everything was either sold out or they didn’t offer this type of room. Finally, I came across the Clarion Inn that had a jacuzzi suite available. I booked the room direct with the hotel and waited the several months until the show. 3 days before the show, I called to confirm that the reservation was there and I was all set, it was. When we arrived at 5pm, the room was not cleaned(2 hours after checkin). Already a disappointment but we weren’t going to let it ruin our good time. The woman behind the counter said it would be another 20 mins, so we went to have some dinner. When we returned, she said she had some bad news and that the jacuzzi room door was not working so we couldn’t check into the room. It was pretty devastating to have taken tons of time to book this months in advance and confirmed days ago, only to be told that they didn’t have the room due to what seemed like a pretty poor excuse. Whats worse is I would have booked a ‘normal’ room closer to the venue if I had known we would have been in this situation. The girl obviously wasn’t at fault and did apologies but that didn’t put my wife and I in a jacuzzi suite. So I asked what she planned to do about this and she said she could put us in a standard king room for a discount. It was maybe 20 $ off the regular price. So yeah, this was a really really weak display. I would never come back here and will not even try another location of the same brand. oh and btw, the place is a dump anyway. Stains on the couch, filthy bathroom. AVOID.

This place certainly needs some updating! The front desk clerk at check in was friendly as well was the breakfast attendant. The room was very small. It had a light that no matter how we turned it off it came on with motion detection. Not enjoyable at 3 in the morning when my husband got up to use the bathroom The shower had little water pressure so that wasn’t the greatest either. The pool doesn’t open until 10:00! One last thing– pack your long underwear! The halls, lobby and our room were freezing!!! I sat with my winter jacket on for the first two hours we were there until the room warmed up. If in the area again we will certainly stay elsewhere.

Little on the expensive side for what you get.

Management & front desk was very friendly. We came here because it had a jacuzzi & a pool. Jacuzzi wasn’t working so they upgraded our room to one with a jacuzzi with not extra charge. Overall look of the place is okay, they are in the process of updating things and adding a bistro. Continental breakfast wasn’t great but other then that it wasn’t bad for the price.

From check to check out, Just terrible! I Checked Into Room 223, and found all the bedding on the couch. So, I go back down to the counter and get a new room. First I noticed that smells of smoke and stagnate water and a crumpled pillow case on the foot of the bed. I was very tired so I said«I give up» and moved in. I then attempted to drink a glass of water. The water glass had a layer of moldy a water in both of them, so I cupped my hands under the sink(much cleaner). I showered in the paint peeling bathroom and layed down to sleep. At 5:50am the room alarm clock goes off. I got up to unplug it. 9 mins later it went off again on battery backup… so I decided to destroy it. After some time I got back to sleep, only to be woke up at 10:12am to the sound of a leaf blower in the parking lot.(There was no leaves in the parking lot. He was using it as a broom and an alarm clock.) At this point I decided to go to a new hotel to get some sleep. DONOTSTAYHERE!
