An easily missed place to be sure. The chili dog alone is worth the trip here, but there’s not much competition for decent dogs in Kalamazoo… Walked by the other day, the place appears to be out of business.

Fun staff with wide selection of awesome specialty hot dog fixins. Great way to end the night. I’m sorry Taco Bell, I’ve found a new late-night bae.

No, this is not a dog grooming facility. Unless you consider the effort & quality they put into serving hot dogs«grooming»… Then yes, well played. I love, love, LOVE Dogs With Style. Their name nails it, this isn’t your average hot dog joint, these dogs have pizazz! You’ll find menu items ranging from a Classic Coney all the way to «The Greek»; even a Mac n’Cheese Dog for the win! All delicious… Need I say more? but I will… Come for the dogs and stay for the staff. They’re nice, helpful, and funny… especially during their bar hours. That’s right, during party nights(Thurs, Fri, Sat) these guys are open 11pm-2am serving that late night«strange». You might even be able to catch them open on a off night if the Kazoo State Theater is hosting a big show.

So, I stumbled upon this place while having a drink with a friend on a Friday night. At my friends advisement I went in and I must say that this place is pretty awesome. There was a talkative and incredibly friendly fellow behind the counter named Tom who chatted with us for a while and because I didn’t know the menu he suggested some things and I settled on a Chicago dog. Let’s just say that I thought it would be like any other hot dog place in Kalamazoo(umm not good) because of all the other hot dog places in Chicago that I’ve been to.(If your ever in Chicago try«hot dougs» that place will blow your mind) This place was all around pretty damn good… The service was friendly and quick(there was also a chick behind the counter that is awesome enough that I kind of want to go back and friend her in real life) and the hot dog was pretty fantastic as well. I would(and will) recommend this place to anyone who has a hankering for a good wiener. I will Most definitely be back. Try it, I dare ya!

So many delicious variety of hot dogs that taste awesome too! It’s a pretty small for seating arrangement, but it was great fun, and they even sear their hot dogs rather than just keep it in hot water! Good Chicago dog too.

Nothing not to love about this place. Dogs with style is my kind of place. Come in for a quick bite, walk around for a few hours then come back for another one!

Easily the best hot dogs in town, creatively topped. My favorite is the chili dog topped with crushed Fritos. Salty, greasy, hangover-cure heaven.

Stopped in here late last Friday night. The man behind the counter was friendly and helpful. They have a wide variety of toppings for the hot dogs. I had one with chili, shredded cheese, melted cheese, sour cream, jalapenos and Cheetos. I’d definitely return for a late night snack again!

Hot fries and creative dog choices. A tiny place next to the State Theater that delivers on your hot dog fix(mine was a Chicago Dog with all the fixings and then some). Friendly, with recently expanded hours. There’s not much to say for the décor … But did I mention Hot Fries!

Best coney dogs around! He makes his coney sauce from scratch… none of that Hormel chili garbage! Great soups as well! Just a great inexpensive lunch spot in downtown Kalamazoo!

If you want best hot dog bang for your buck, Dogs With Style is the place to go. The average hot dog costs no more than $ 2.50(the owner informed me that he hasn’t raised prices in over 8 years). The décor is a retro 1950’s style. It’s simple, and isn’t meant to knock your socks off. The hot dogs are delicious and quite filling. The french fries are fried up right after you order them, and quite good. These fries have managed to catch the eye of a food review column or two over the years. Their Chicago dog is a variant from the classic, with fresh diced cucumber in addition to the standard dill pickle. It also has the expected chopped fresh tomato and fresh onion. It lacks the traditional sweet pickle relish, and instead has finely chopped pickled jalapeño peppers. It lacks ketchup(though you can add it yourself), and does have mustard. It is topped off with a single sport pepper and a dash of celery salt. It’s a very tasty variant, and if you like a bit of kick on your dogs, you won’t be disappointed. I will be returning in the near future to sample some of their other offerings, such as the coney dog and the chili cheese dog. Vegetarians will be pleased to know that they also offer all of their hot dog styles in vegetarian form. When I looked behind the counter I saw that they use ‘Smart Dogs’. Also, they are not limited to offerings of hot dogs. They also have a Chicago-style Italian beef sandwich, a ‘Walking Taco’(Fritos corn chips, coney meat, tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, nacho and cheddar cheese w/sour cream), a soup of the day, and a garden salad. They make their own fresh brewed sun tea, in addition to standard fountain drinks(Coke products). Stop on by if you’re having a craving for a good all-around hot dog. You won’t be disappointed. If you go, though. Bring cash or check. They don’t accept credit cards. Oh, and they’re only open for lunch!
