I was a little confused at the low rating in the reviews. Windward City Kozo is always yummy. I’ve never been mistreated or found them closed early. They did just had a long closure due to Windward City having construction, and it was hard waiting for the reopening. We ordered takeout there yesterday, and are planning on going today too. My 2 year old loves the ahi special. I always order my platters from them too and since it’s father’s day that’s where I’m off to. It’s a hole in the wall that’s been around since I was in high school, and I love it. Mostly young kids on staff but they are always polite and cheerful. The food is not fine restaurant quality but it is fresh, tastes good, and is well prepared.

Came here tonight to get my fave spicy ahi bowl. So sad when I see their sign indicates that they close at 7 pm and it’s only 6:28 pm yup, they are closed… breaking down the register! That’s really bad… For that alone, they get a bad rating. Otherwise, their spicy bowl is one of my all time faves.

OMG walked in there tonight at 6:45pm to pick up a few hand rolls. As soon as we walked in the workers say out loud oh no! I already got the impression of get the hell out of here we wanna go home. First off who the hell closes at 7:00 pm when that’s peak dinner hour? Secondly how hard is it to make a hand roll? So I ask are you closed already? the guy working says«oh yeah because were short staffed». Um hello I see 3 people working !&@?!@ if I could give this kozo no star I totally would! Where has dam customer service gone? What happened people? I will contact the owner tomorrow morning. I pledge to never walk into kozo sushi in Kaneohe again and will share my experience with everyone I know.

Went there today coz I was not super hungry but it was 2:00 and I thought that sushi would be a good choice. WRONG. I ordered California roll, which I thought was kinda pricey at $ 6 for about 8 slices. Dry rice, no taste and I don’t know about you but isn’t California roll supposed to have mayo mixed with the«crab»? None given — a very dry and boring sushi. I will not go back there again.

i haven’t gone here yet – and i don’t ever plan on EVER going here. wait, before you go «WHAT?!», let me tell you what happened. one night, we were looking for a place to get a quick pick up dinner, as we had been shopping and it was a little late… perhaps around 7:15 p.m. so we’re walking past this Kozo, and my son, who’s 8, and i start looking at their menu, which is stuck to the inside of their plate glass window. we decide to get a plate or two to take home. as i approach the front door, i notice the closed sign, which is a bummer, right? and no, i’m not one of those idiots who pull on a door that has a «Closed» sign and expect it to magically open for me. if a place is closed, it’s closed, TS for for me. so, we start turning to walk away… and then i hear muffled yelling from inside the Kozo Sushi…“WE’RECLOOOOOOOOSED!!! WE’RECLLLLOOOOOOOOSSSSEDD!!!” my goodness, i WISH i could tell you Unilocalers i was lying. BUT, i’m not. i was so flabbergasted i didn’t do anything until i got in my truck. then i looked up their phone number on my phone, called them, and they answered! i asked the young man who answered if he had been the one who had just been yelling at me through the window. DEADSILENCE for two seconds. «uh…no,» he stammered. «DOYOUTHINK I COULDN’T HEARYOUTHROUGHTHEWINDOWYELLINGATME?» i said, a little more sternly than before. «oh…sorry,» he said. then i said he better knock that crap off and hung up. i didn’t call the manager the next day because i figured me calling him up to tell him off freaked him out enough, hopefully, to never do something as stupid as that, ever again.

This place used to be pretty good, as the other kozos are. They have recently raised their prices and have started giving less. its sad. This used to be the go to place but now things are getting fishy!

This is a regular destination for pickup sushi on the way to the beach or airport(this beats having to buy the airline’s snack packs!). While the prices aren’t Costco cheap, the quality of the hand rolls and the ingredients are great. This location will prepare the handrolls using brown rice for anyone looking for a healthier alternative. Cash only, call your order ahead to skip the wait there. As of 11÷20÷07: Open 365 days a year Mon-Sat 9am-7pm Sun 9am-6pm
