Sprint Store

The best customer service in Kansas City– hands down! The tech guys can get a little intense — but besides that, they are pretty awesome.

This was probably 100x better than almost every Sprint store I’ve been to nevermind the big box b-​s trying to sell Sprint products. *cough* *Best Buy* *cough*
Anyway, the reason I came in was because I lost my phone and desperately needed another one. I made an appointment online which was easy enough and ended up in the store maybe 5 minutes early. I was greeted by an almost empty store so was helped immediately. I explained I had an appointment and she said that didn’t matter and would be helped right away.
The store itself is well laid out and actually pretty surprisingly chic. There is dark wood nearly everywhere, very open and complete with two TVs and modern leather couches for customers to wait.
A nice guy came over (sorry, forgot his name) and started showing me phones. I picked mine out based on my needs and started rolling with the purchase. It was quick and easy.
The only annoying thing was all the ‘add ons’ the salesman tried to push on me. I only took the case cover because I don’t need another useless tablet or a ridiculous looking cell phone watch. I know he has to push these because, uh, he’s a salesman but jesus. When you come out of the back with your hands brimming with boxes of MORE stuff you know I’m going to be like ‘oh great’.
Once the guy had moved on he gave me his card and told me to call if I have any questions.
I was in and out in probably 20 minutes. Way way better than almost every other phone store experience. Even if you don’t live downtown I’d make the trip to this store because 1. it’ll probably be less waiting, 2. it’s better looking than any other Sprint store I’ve been to and 3. they seem to really know what they’re doing.

I realize that this is not the fault of this particular Sprint store, however it is reflective of the Sprint Network, HQ and customer care lines. Also, I would have skipped the stars had that been an option.
I am absolutely disgusted with the Sprint corporation. My family and I have had a plan with them for about 5 years too long and have not had one decent customer service experience. Their employees are either completely incompetent or just plain rude. This past week, my parents decided to buy me a new iPhone for my 20^th birthday, since the Galaxy SII I received from Sprint will no longer hold a charge, thus it is something I needed quickly. Last December we ordered an iPhone for my brother and received it to our current address with no problem (other than the typical rude behavior). On May 20^th we ordered my new iPhone, during the process someone hung up on my mother and then when she was finally able to place the order, she validated our current address THREE times. It is the same address our account has said for the past two years, the same address our bills are sent, the same address the card my mother used is linked to and the same address my brother’s phone was sent to several months earlier. Yesterday, Friday May 23, I still had yet to receive my phone, but received the case I ordered from Amazon on Wednesday. My father checked the email confirmation again for any eras, and found that Sprint had sent both my phone and a tablet we had ordered to an address we had over two years ago! This address was not on our account nor is anything we have linked to it. Now, for the best part. Upon calling Sprint to discuss their mistake due to total lack of competence, my mother has been hung up on three more times. Sprint is forcing us to wait three days for them to pull the tape in which my mother confirmed our address with the idiot who took our order. Three business days just to validate our order AGAIN, after Sprint has already taken the money out of our bank account. One representative told my mother that if she called UPS and the local police of the address it had been shipped to, they would be able to process the order again immediately, and then hung up on her. So my mother called both, and both departments were appalled that she was calling and not Sprint when they were the ones causing all of these issues. After those calls, my mom called Sprint back and was told that they would still need 3 days to validate the order. After explaining her case for the umpteenth time, the lady hung up on my mother. Several more terrible interactions ensued and Sprint has yet to make any serious effort to make up for THEIR mistake. I’ve worked in customer service for several years in the past and I would NEVER treat anyone in such a horrible manner.

This store is a hell of a lot better than the other godawful Sprint stores. Much more modern without being overly pretentious like an Apple store. Went here to finally get away from iPhone and get myself a Galaxy. The sales guy was nice enough, told me what I needed to know and was to the point. I think he was at his nicest when he asked if I would rate him 5 stars when I receive a customer satisfaction suvey call. The other girl up there, Emily, was a real sweetie. While she was in the front office, my guy friendly let her know a new customer had walked in. She responded with a harsh glare «I can hear the door open!» Very nice, I hope you get fired.

This review is reflective of this particular store, not the Sprint network, HQ, or customer care lines, because I just love you. Yes, I just love you madly and I’m going to go freestyle on you!

Anyhow, enough with that silliness! This is a ginormous gorgeous store that is always empty and staff is always anxious to please. They seem to demo every gadget known to man that Sprint offers. Whether they be sales, customer care, or technical, they know their stuff and are very competent. The techies will explain everything to you and coming from someone with a technical background, I can appreciate their competence and that they share technical data to prove their point. I walk in sad and walk out with a little smile on my face as I know that they did everything within their ability to help me from swapping out my phone, case, documenting notes on my account, etc. and slip me their personal business card in case I want to deal with the same person going forward. This carrier store blows away every one that I have ever gone into from all the major carriers in my lifetime. It is a shame that they appear to get few walk-​ins, but I suppose that is all the better for my wife and myself.

I have had Sprint cell phone service for 10+ years and overall it has been a good experience. The plan I have is an old one so Sprint is always trying to convince me to change which I understand because we have a pretty amazing deal for multiple lines which no other carrier has been able to match. I went by the store Downtown to have my new Galaxy S4 activated and see if they could transfer the data from my Galaxy S3 and the tech department was amazing.
The guy spent 30 minutes transferring all my messages, photos and content and when I logged into the S4 it automatically downloaded all the programmings and settings I had on the S3 through the Google interface. The service was great, he made sure the phone worked, checked the data, had me verify it was setup as I wanted and thanks me.
I went back to the same store Downtown a week later to swap my white Galaxy S4 for my black Galaxy S4 and had a completely different experience. The nice blonde lady who was helping me this time was the ‘Retail Lead’ but it was close to closing time and she was in a hurry to leave. She told me there was no way they could copy the data, messages or images although the same store had done it just a few days ago.
She deactivated my white Galaxy S4 and then realized she could not activate the other phone because I had taken the chip out of the phone. Sprint told me they don’t use the chips so I took it out to see if a chip from T-​Mobile or AT&T would work and never put it back in because Sprint told me more than once they don’t use the chips unless your traveling Internationally. Well Sprint is wrong and the new phones will NOT operate with the chip even though they «don’t use the chip».
The Retail Lead at the Sprint Store said she had to leave and told us to come back the next day at 11AM. The problem was that now I had no working phone and no way of communicating with anyone until the next day which is tough with you run a business. The lady was not rude but I was surprised she almost argued with me about Sprint not being able to transfer data and then left me without any means of communication. The time before it was great but this time not so much.
The store is beautiful and large since it’s across the street from the Sprint Center and they are never very busy except when there are events so you can usually get service fast. Every company has good and bad just like every person has a good and bad day so I don’t hold it against them but I would ask to never be stuck without communication again… take the extra 5 minutes and activate the phone for a customer next time :)

I hate going to Sprint stores. I used to support them back in the day equate them to a DMV experiences. The old carpet and sun bleached walls… ugh. The sprint store in the P&L district is by far the nicest and should be considered the flagship store. I was engaged by the employees as soon as I walked through the door and was taken care of within minutes. The store itself was modern and had cooler décor then the MS store or Apple store.

Holy Sprint Store. This was the most impressive cell phone carrier store I have ever seen. It’s just wall to wall coolness. And for those of you who want to relax while your boyfriend gets you both new phones, then you can sit in the TV area and veg out.
The staff was super friendly and helpful. They even stayed late to help us switch from T-​Mobile to Sprint.

The Apple Store, the Giselle, The Benz, yes, the holy grail of all sprint stores.
If you didn’t get the hint, it is Sprint’s flagship store. As opposed tot he typical sprint stores, this location has a huge variety of interactive media for one to play around with. Everything from touchscreen globes to touch screen board games are at the disposal of technology freaks. None of the phones on display are plastic as they are live demos and they also seem to keep this store extremely well staffed compared to the others.
If you are looking into getting a Sprint phone, this is most likely the store of choice since you won’t be hanging yourself from the lack of associates to help you.
