I ordered my wedding cake from confections and it turned out great! The cake was delicious(mango and cream I think?) and the design was exactly as I had wanted it to be. I found this place on Unilocal but it turns out that Gail is the main cake supplier for my wedding venue so she comes with a lot of experience!

This store and Gail is amazing! She is awesome in making cakes come to life! We were so very lucky to have met her! she made our wedding cake exactly how we envisioned it and more! The flavors she did the cake with were mouth watering and yummy! It was more than we imagined! The whole cake was beautiful! She not only communicated with us to ensure we were getting what we wanted she even held a tasting and my husband loved it! Her guidance and knowledge in combining flavors and frostings to ensure it would hold in this hawaii weather were invaluable! We were blessed to have found her! She also recently did our daughters sweet 16 masquerade themed cake! And boy she rocked it! It was truly beautiful and she displayed the theme perfectly! Our daughter was very happy! Not only does her cakes look Amazing but they taste like nothing you have tasted before! She is a very professional woman and we highly highly recommend her for all of your cake needs!

When I first inquired about the cake. Gal said it would be $ 70/$ 55 for a ½ sheet cake and the decorations is $ 15 for the Doc Mcstuffin theme. There was also supposed to be a 10% craigslist discount. After seeing the many decorated cakes on her fancy website and inquiring with Gal, i figured the cake would be pictured with our theme; it would be decorated as doc Mcstuffin and as she indicated there would be a few toppers. I wanted to ensure that i was able to get a cake with this decoration for my daughters birthday since a 2 tier/3D fancy cake could not meet our budget. I contacted Gal on 3 occasions to confirm pricing, purchasing and pick up. I thought during this time, she took my order and unfortunately we were not on the same page. I sent my husband down there to pay $ 70 for the cake. However, she made him look thru a book of 1“x1″ pictures of cakes and choose cake toppers to add to the cake. The toppers were $ 5 each, for the exception of one that was ½ the size. Anyhow, the cake came out to $ 90. I had to call her and asked why the cost was different then what she quoted me? She said«your husband chose all the cake toppers.» I told her that i gave her my order and he was supposed to just taste the cake, choose a flavoring and pay for the cake. Anyhow, I didn’t have time get into it and just left it at that. Fast foward to Scarlet’s 2nd birthday. See the cake for your self. It was a regular lightly flowered-decorated cake with toppers on it. Really? I could have paid $ 25 for a Costco cake and order cake toppers on amazon for half the price. What does flowers have to do with our theme? What a disapooinment. She couldn’t paint a stethoscope, doctor bag or bandaid on the cake? Her website shows all the other cakes decorated as themed. Unfortunately, the taste of the cake wasn’t amazing either. There was a very thin layer of the flavoring that you get to choose from a selection of 5. Everyone kept asking what it was. It was supposed to be guava strawberry and unfortunately it tasted like a cheap version of guava jelly. The whip cream was too sweet as well. The cake separated at this layer too. It was cake, guava/strawberry flavoring/cream/cake and it was falling apart while serving. The cake was in the house the entire time. It was hot though, but i don’t believe that was the reason for the separation. Moral of story… Open communication. Make sure you know what you are buying. Maybe ask for a bigger picture that will be exactly what you are looking for. Ask for direct cost and not a generic quote.

We booked our trip to Oahu and were staying at Aulani to celebrate my son’s 1st Birthday. I contacted this business and spoke with Gal and ordered a ¼ sheet birthday cake for my son three weeks before arrival. They had me prepay for the cake which was just around $ 60. Fast forward to the day of arrival and my son’s birthday. We checked into Aulani and headed over to the bakery to pick up his cake for our dinner celebration. We had a hard time finding the store so I called and Gal answered again. I told her who I was and that I was on my way. She said she remembered me, but forgot all about our order. What? I replied, are you kidding? No, I don’t have your cake here. I must have forgotten to place your order after I charged your credit card. Needless to say I became very upset and my wife began to cry as our son is now without a birthday cake on his 1st birthday. Gal offered to «whip» up a cake in 30min for us. We declined and asked for our money back. I would NEVER buy from this business and neither should you! How do you forget to make a cake? My son didn’t deserve that!
