The bagel definitely needed more gluten. It just wasn’t chewy at all. The staff is very nice. The salads look very good, but a little small for the price. I saw a wrap thats abot $ 7 – 8 and it was tiny for that price. However I would come back Ok, now my friend came and I got a quinoa bowl. For over $ 8 it was seriously lacking in ingredients. There was about 1 – 2 ounces of turkey and maybe a spoonful of the pineapple mango salsa. There was plenty of quinoa though! I will not return.

This place is great. Excellent quick service and efficient. The bagels are super fresh and tasty. The coffee is good and fresh. It’s a standard bagel and deli shop. Nothing over the top, but just right.

Ordered a western wrap with fresh squezed OJ on a Saturday morning. Staff was friendly but some were a little slow on getting orders completed(not sure if they were new hires). The wrap itself was pretty good, a little heavy on the ham but all in all I would go back. A nice option was to eat outside with the few tables they have.

The food here is fresh and outstanding. The problem is the service — over 5 minutes for three sandwiches at a time when there were five young women behind the counter, few customers, and easy to make selections. Do order a pickle — those are great.

The food is always great– when you get what you ordered. In the past, the service, food, and cleanliness has always been exceptional. As of late, the Works in Keene has hired all new staff members. More often than not, it’s really a hit or miss in terms of receiving what you ordered and having it be edible. Like others, I have had food burnt to a crisp in the grill, under-toasted, ill-prepared cream cheese, and even had my food given to someone else(on more than one occasion). Often, the tables are left messy even on a slow day. And who is making that coffee? Both the hot and iced coffee are somehow simultaneously burnt-tasting and watery. Something needs to change, because the service isn’t doing the bagels justice!

Small café with a couch and a couple easy chairs as well as regular tables. They serve bagels as well as sandwiches on bagels, wraps and paninis, plus chili, soup and salads. I had egg and cheddar on a plain bagel — great bagel, but they microwave the eggs to cook them — not my favorite. Hubby had a grilled chicken panini that he was happy with, and an excellent maple walnut bar. I’d definitely go there again if I was in the area.

Amazing bagels and soups! The staff has messed up orders a few times, but has fixed their errors and are very friendly. Food delicious. Right by KSC, good for college students.

One of my favorite places to get breakfast/lunch in Keene. My friends and I go all of the time. My favorite is the smoked salmon on a bagel. Although, it is a little pricey especially being a college student. They should have some sort of student discount. The service is good and usually pretty quick except one time they kept forgetting to make my sandwich so they eventually gave me a card to get a free one.

The bagels taste good, however they’re always a little too firm for my preference, and I don’t mean over toasted, in fact I think every time I’ve eaten here(15+ times) the bagels are disappointingly under toasted, even when you ask the attendant to toast it dark. The veggies are always fresh which I totally appreciate, but the cream cheese application is less than to be desired. I think this has to do with the ice cream scoop method, I suggest ditching the scoop and just use the small metal spatulas(that I see behind the counter). I don’t like having to spread my own, and nobody likes a glob of cream cheese in the middle of their bagel. I live in Keene, and it’s decent enough to return, but honestly everything should be at least $ 2 cheaper. I have my favorite bagel-cream cheese-veggies combination paired with a snapple that I get at The Works and the Bagel Mill in Peterborough, and the Works charges almost $ 7, and the exact same thing at Bagel Mill is $ 3.50(and honestly it is more satisfying). You’re in a college town and you sell(mostly) breakfast food… Cater to your population!

Awesome bagels, though they discontinued my favorite kind –sourdough. The VT cream cheese is out of this world. Pretty authentic bagels. Only ones I have had better were in Montréal. Sandwiches are ok. i love that you can buy a whole pickle and have them slice it.

Tipped off by a local that this was one of the town’s favorite places – indeed most solid. They have some cool types of bagels like Rosemary and they make some good sandos. Service I thought was good, all bagel stores get crazy with people and their complex bagel options(mix those 2 schmears, toast only 1 side, have caramelized onions?) Ugh, just order and roll. That said, staff was nice and on top of things. Since it was mentioned, a bagel with cream cheese in NYC is about 2 dollars and here it’s about 2.50, so yeah many items are about .50 more than needed. Write that off to cute atmosphere and natural ingredients. Definitely a nice atmosphere and a good place to stop in at on a relaxing morning.

I am generally satisfied with their breakfast bakery items but feel like their breakfast sandwiches miss the mark. All be it too greasy a sandwich, too under toasted or too bland I am not sure what the rotation is but that seems to be the norm for their breakfast sandwiches. People are nice and lines move quick they seem to like most coffee and breakfast places have a lot of hang out crowd.

Great sandwiches! We were staying in town for a couple days and needed a late lunch spot. This place had great food and a pleasant atmosphere. They seemed health– and environmentally– conscious. We tried the Farmers veggie and cheese sandwich and the Super Chicken panini, and both were great. I might have preferred the multigrain bread to the sourdough, but it was a tough call. Only negative was there was a bit of a wait on the panini because I think they only had two griddles. Otherwise, fabulous meal and great service.

My daughter is a KSC student and loves it here. She wanted to eat here so here we go. This is kind a hydrid of bagel shop, coffee shop and deli. Two of us had bagel sandwiches and two of us had wraps. I had ordered a daily special that I didn’t realize came grilled… more about that soon. The Café was very busy with the attendant chaos behind the counter. It seemed that every person in every group ordered from whoever was next available so single groups could have 2 or 3 people working on their order. Everything is wrapped in paper and you head to the cashier and tell him what you have. Back to the chaos, the grill and my wrap. My attendant makes my wrap(after finding the hummus scoop which had gone AWOL) and slaps is on the pannini grill. He then calls for the next customer, and the next, and the next. Do you see where this is headed? While this is going on, I go to the cashier and describe 3 breakfasts, 1 still cooking and 2 being eaten as I’m paying for them. I guess this system works in Keene but wouldn’t work around home. Anyway, after several other orders are made, I flag my guy down and inquire about my wrap. «Oh yeah» as he goes to the grill and grabs it. Another worker sees this and realizes he too has something on the other grill… that sandwich is now a blackened mess . Bottom line, good food, disorganized system for a weekend morning and, if you get something grilled… keep an eye on it yourself!

We went out to Keene to go to the annual Pumpkinfest, loved walking through the downtown. We were looking for an affordable, nice restaurant to sit down in for a few minutes and have a sandwich and smoothie. This seemed like the perfect location. BagelWorks has fair prices, a great menu selection with a bunch of vegetarian and vegan options(thanks, that sincerely helps when you keep kosher), and a warm, inviting interior that made it comfortable to hang out in. I definitely recommend it.
