Ate there once, wasn’t impressed. Food is way overpriced for the quality you get. Almost every salad should be fresh, so the Fresh salad thing is an expectation not a luxury. Drinks with flavored cubes have very little flavor and taste more like propel fitness water at times due to lack of flavor. Went with friends another time, owner is a Giant rude, turd. There are far better places on Main street you can eat than at this place.

This place is great. My wife and I went there for lunch last weekend and had a fish chowder and a chicken sandwich — both were very good. We really enjoyed the nice atmosphere, small business vibe, and pleasant customer service. We will be definitely going there again.

The sandwiches were excellent and the staff were very friendly. This was my first time in Keene, and this place made me love Keene as a whole in addition to the salad/sandwich shop.

In Keene for a lacrosse camp at the state college and wandered into Fresh Salad Co. Had the lobster roll and it was delicious! We went back the next day to get another. Great service and great food!

This place has really good salads, sandwiches and hot meals. Specials are always great and the people are friendly! Try the flavored ice cubes and the pesto, both are amazing.

Just ate here for the first time, and came back two days later! Ordered the barbecue chicken salad on greens with blue cheese dressing both times… And the focaccia is to die for. As is the pink sangria!

They get it right every time! Consistently delicious! In reading the reviews I noticed complaints about signage… I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary, so maybe those have been removed? I can certainly understand why they wouldn’t want you to bring in any outside purchased food into their establishment. Yesterday I had the turkey on stuffing bread with cheddar gravy. All I can say is I ate it all and wanted to lick my dish! A favorite beverage is the lemonade with blueberry ice-cubes. So refreshing! The hubs had smoked salmon mac & cheese with a nice hunk of bread on the side, which he devoured in its’ entirety as well! I sampled some of the many pesto blends they had out to try with their delicious foccacia bread. Yup, I left there with a container of the olive pesto, an entire loaf of foccacia(which is the size of a cardboard soda box flat) and a bag of their garlic crackers. So freakin good! Nice ambiance and choice of outdoor seating too. They’ve got us hooked! I want to get an air freshener that makes the van smell as good as it did on the way home with our delicious goodies in tow!

Yay! They’ve taken down all the weird signage and definitely seemed to up their customer-service. It feels way less awkward when dining in and now I just cant wait till its warm enough to enjoy the patio and their amazing food!

Pleasantly surprised with this location although i feel there is a litany of Keene State students out front in the summer that make it hard to get a table sometimes. The worst part is waiting for a to go order, there isn’t really a good waiting location and the people waiting pile up a little. Still I have always enjoyed their salads and sandwiches. Most of their salads are really just a sandwich without bread. Soups are probably the worst fair that they offer. Variety of Snapple drinks if you enjoy such things.

My absolute favorite place to eat in Keene, NH. Went to KSC and would frequently go with all my friends. Amazing salads, wraps, sandwiches, and LEMONADE. The lemonade is so delicious. I usually got a chicken caesar wrap and a strawberry ice lemonade. Go, amazing and healthy.

walking keene recently and decided for something to share for lunch so tried this place, nothing too outstanding about it although the menu items looked intriguing so we stopped in and shared a smoked salmon mac and cheese which was great and a henniker wheat beer… glad we stopped, very interesting, great food!

Outstanding seafood chowder(made oldstyle with real fresh haddock and Maine shrimp, perfectly seasoned, not thick like gruel), a generous chef’s salad, savory bacon-onion dressing, home-baked breads, hot mulled local cider, NH craft beers, outdoor seating on one of the prettiest Main Streets in New England!

I’ve been going to «Keene Fresh» as we locals have a tendency to call it for about 10 years. The first thing I will say is that IF I was going to rate them just on their food, I would give them a 5 star rating. Their salads are fresh, their dressings are homemade and fabulous. They use great ingredients. And it’s not easy finding healthy alternatives for a quick meal. Definitely go for the food, you will not be disappointed. So… why the 3 star rating you may ask. I think they need to come down off their high horse. You heard me right. I’m sorry, but the customer service, mainly in the form of the ambiance and signage, is snobbish and not at all the kind of positive energy that draws me to a place. I currently eat there about once every two months. I could eat here once a week. Here’s why I don’t. First of all, I just walk up to the place and the signs telling me what I can and cannot do set my teeth on edge. Signs tell me there is absolutely no outside food allowed, where I may and may not stand, bag my food, and on and on. Next, I have«open/closed» betrayal. They appear to decide on a whim to close and«go to the beach» — as they proudly proclaim on another one of their, what else, SIGNS. I can get a hankering for one of their SUPER salads on a random day during their normal business hours, finally find a parking spot in notoriously difficult to park in Keene, only to be greeted by said sign upon walking up to the door. This, after passing all the above mentioned signs which already have me on edge.
Compare this with their neighbor half a block down, The Market at Luca’s, where the counter help treats you like royalty, who also happen to be their best friend, AND the food is equally if not more delicious(Luca’s has an awesome Chicken Caesar salad too!) and it starts becoming a no-brainer. Except that every once in a while, the seduction of their absolutely delicious Caesar dressing or one of their award winning homemade pestos start to call to me and… I cave– all my principles about how local shop owners should treat their customers fly out the window — and I go stand in line. Standing, of course, where I’m suppose to… after making sure I have absolutely NO outside food of any kind on me… and bag my salad in the approved spot(no way could I sit in house through a whole meal without having a fit of apoplexy). I then go sheepishly on my way and enjoy one of my favorite salads in Keene. I want these folks to succeed — and it appears they are — but I would hope that they might heed my review along with the other reviews that mention the unfriendly atmosphere and come around. It would seem to me that with such a quality product, a bit of kindness and friendly customer service could only enhance their success.

The place — outside seating available with ample tables inside, too. Order at the counter/clear your own table type place. Very friendly staff, with owners who thanked us for coming in at the end of our visit. Quaint and local feel. Street parking(metered, strict meter ‘police’ so don’t run out of meter time and avoid a ticket). Café type décor inside, clean and well kept. Menu — lots of great salads, sandwiches, homemade baked goodies, salad dressings, and soups. I truly couldn’t narrow down what I wanted to order everything looked so good! Ordered the BBQ chicken salad(approx $ 8) with homemade ranch dressing. Plentiful BBQ chicken over a bed of very fresh veggies, beautifully displayed. Came with a foccacia type thick slice of bread, I imagine also house made. Others in our group ordered the chef salad($ 8) — huge! Came with lots of goodies — eggs, plenty of ham, carrots, all the fixings. It was enough for two to share and again beautifully presented. Also ordered was the house made mac and cheese($ 11) with salmon — sounds weird, but the salmon was delicious! The mac and cheese didn’t lack in the best part — LOTSOFCHEESE. Yummy! Both items also came with bread. We didn’t ordered sandwiches, but saw them and they were stacked high with all the same hearty, fresh veggies our salads had, too. Drinks — The regular drinks are available, but the one to rave about is the lemonade! Ordered the kinky lemonade cocktail(has alcohol $ 7; non-alcoholic available) that came with flavored ice cubes! You have to try the flavored ice cubes in your lemonade. The ice cubes are infused and melt into your drink adding a yummy treat. It sounds weird, but the flavor is amazing and they have several different types — raspberry, strawberry, mint, etc. Local brews served with a chilled glass. I love supporting local places and am very happy I did so for this place in Keene. Highly recommended and would absolutely come back again.

My daughter is a KSC student and loves it here, so we came to grab lunch n our arrival in Keene. They have an interesting variety of salad and dressings, the latter of which are all made in house and are very creative. I had the chicken and black bean salad with Maple Mustard dressing. Very interesting and delicious. As is very common in this town, you order at the counter and pick up your own food. No waiter service and the food was ready promptly. I highly recommend this place and wish there was something like this near my home!

Excellent, fresh food. I love that it’s family-run, it definitely has a relaxed and friendly vibe. Awesoem lobster roll… the shrimp salad is also great, as is the chowder… let’s face it — I have tried something different every time and loved everything. Cookies are a MUST for dessert and take some home-made pesto home … YUMMY.
