People who think this is good BBQ don’t know BBQ. Down south Dickeys is in the same category as McDonald’s or Burger King. So in other words if you like it, good for Dickeys, but don’t say you know good Que.

Just okay. Not good enough that my family and I will give it another try. We tried a family meal that consisted of pulled pork, smoked turkey breast, and brisket. The sides were creamed spinach, cole slaw and mac and cheese, along with rolls. The pulled pork was mediocre at best. Somewhat dry and not a lot of flavor. The pork wasn’t pulled very well and there were large chunks. Probably due to the lack of moisture. The brisket was extremely dry, very unevenly sliced, and some bites were extremely salty. No nice smoke ring like a quality brisket. The smoked turkey was probably the best of the meats, but it had a very odd consistency. Some of it was almost like some type of pressed/processed turkey meat. The sides were all pretty good. Not great, but decent. Rolls were maybe a bit above average and pretty good. The sauce was good, which was nice as it gave things like the bland pulled pork a little flavor. We have heard others speak pretty highly of the food here, but we won’t be back.

The Wednesday special was very tasty and a good bang for the buck. Locally owned, you can tell by the friendly staff and attention to detail. Josh was not only on top of my special request to have my fries«well done» he also came to my table to ensure they were done to my liking.

First time visit today. AWESOME food! My wife had the beef brisket and ham. I had chicken and turkey. Wonderful flavor and delicious BBQ sauce! Sides were great. Everything was hot and fast. Nice atmosphere too. We will absolutely be back!

It’s BarBQ, so it Ain’t horrible. But it’s hit and miss on the quality of the ribs and briskit. Could be dry and chewy. I would go for the pepper/cheddar sausage. It is always good. Sides are edible, but nothing Amazing. Like I said it is Barbq so it Can be Amazing, but is most always better than any fastfood.

For my first visit I’ll say that the BBQ is pretty ok. The meat fell off the rib bone just fine, and the two sides(coleslaw and jalapeño beans) were pretty good. Didn’t feel like the ribs were super smoky though, and the spicy sauce isn’t all that spicy. Good flavor, but a little lacking in heat. I’ll probably return and try the other meats.

The barbecue was grilled well there sides impressed me more then the actual meat, iv been here about 3 times so I am sure in this. The servers are moderately friendly but they are not going above and beyond. It’s a good place for the price

I work out at golds gym, and I almost got in a wreck because dickies left their coupon on my window, and the coupon got stuck to my window, put me in a blind spot and almost got in an accident, I was thinking of suing them but I actually swerved out-of-the-way in time. I have never tried their food, and now I will never try their food. Also advertising their food at the gold gym parking lot really will not get them any customers, they really think people will eat something as greasy after they work out??? Terrible tactics of advertising, why don’t you guys try radio like normal people, or sending coupons out through mail?!

It is a pleasure to be able to update my experience. The owner, Dan, not only emailed me concerning my opinion, but last night he personally delivered to me another complete meal. While I did not experience the staff at Queensgate, I will say that the meal was delicious and our talk was sincere. As with all new businesses, he explained, his staff was under prepared for the crush of business that occurred and this, more than likely, came across when I was there. As a business owner, I can confidently say, Dan has his focus on his guests and I’m sure, his staff. I believe that he will provide for his staff, tools to help them with all of their customer service skills. Thanks Dan…

Dickey’s has become our new favorite fast food place. It’s not a fancy place but they keep it clean and have two TVs on. Food is consistently good, price is a little higher than I’d like but their daily specials, coupons, and text club help make up for that. And I think the highlight is the free ice cream at the end.

Visited over a period of months this summer! Sometimes mid-day, always pleasant employees! Nice atmosphere for a BBQ resto. Lots of menu options, whether it’s the daily special or other. plus all of the delicious sides to choose from. The pulled pork is simply amazing… chicken is okay. Brisket has been good… ribs ‘so-so’ as hit-or-miss…sometimes very dry. With the ribs, I’ve had the«soak it» texture here that’s way moist(do you boil your ribs? vs. just smoke[?])…so that’s been a bummer(yours is pull right off the bone usually, but not much flavor and no «tug» there). I’d have to give Dickey’s a plus, however… They are better than most of the Tri-Cities BBQ joints… But Porter’s in Richland may give you a run for your money… Keep up the good work! Will be back!

Uodate to my review… I do have to say that I am impressed with the response from both the owner and manager from Dickeys. I was contacted by both asking how they could fix the problem. The manager said the magic words to me when he said that he reminded his employees how important it is to be friendly. Thanks for caring about your business!

Had to give it one star to post. That one might be for the ice cream machine. We thought the ribs were pretty okay, that is the best we can say. The sides were awful! Tough potatoes? How’d they do that? Yuk fried Okra, no sauce or seasoning. Cesar salad? Really is that what you call that tiny cup of brown lettuce with an eye dropper of dressing? Only one size soft drink, big and expensive. No idea how to order, only sign indicated where to pick up food. Staff not at all helpful. It was pretty spendy for what we got! Think we will stick to ribs from real restaurants. Dickies just doesn’t have«it».

I have been craving some smoked BBQ lately, and tonight for dinner it was between Dickeys or the large sit down on the other side of town. Dickeys won, and I am so glad they did. I am very impressed. We got the picnic pack for our family of four and a half rack of ribs. Meat was falling off the bone when we got it home. So good, I ended up sneaking some off of the kids’ plates. The macaroni and cheese was ooey and gooey and a kid pleaser. The rolls were warm and soft and I couldn’t get enough. Aside from the food the staff was SO friendly. That’s not something you often get from the two cities and I will return for another trip. I absolutely recommend this to anyone wanting a carnivorous feast. The free self serve ice cream was great!

Is this the best bbq I’ve ever had? Not by a long shot. However, it is good! The service was friendly and welcoming. And all the girls had their hair tied back and in hats(for that person who complained about that before haha). So I got the 2 meat combo and it was literally the exact amount of food to fill me up(the 3 meat option would be perfect to share, for a cheap lunch) the meat was tender and flavorful and the warm bbq sauce choices were a great touch. I got the spicy bbq sauce, and it was really good, and not too hot. The sweet sauce was good too… you definitely need sauce on the meats, or they taste a little dry. Also, their sweet tea genuinely reminded me of real southern sweet tea. So A’s all around. Oh and the free ice cream cone was a nice bonus too! Overall, I ended the meal very happy and very full, and I’ll definitely be back.

Really yummy food and it’s free ice cream for the kids! The girl that was taking orders seemed to be annoyed and stressed out but everyone else was really really nice

I had a craving for ribs and found dickeys was the only place open Sunday night near my house. I don’t know that I have the energy to put my feelings about the ribs into words, but my stomach still doesn’t feel right the next morning. I bought a whole rack thinking I would just murder this bbq! But I made it through about 4 ribs and shut it down. Maybe something else on the menu is good? They were sort of tasteless, Non smoky, had sauce added after they pulled them out of the little heater tray and I added more of their«spicy» sauce, but still fairly tasteless. The mat was tinder and all but I lost my appetite pretty quickly. I will learn to control my cravings from now on until one of the better bbq joints opens the next day.

I decided to stop in here after seeing it on the news a while back. The prices are high for what you get, but that is true at most bbq joints. You get a plate with unseasoned meats, some not even warm from my experience, and a biscuit. You can choose from your choice of 3 sauces to put on it. That is, if you can get over the overpowering stench of melted plastic you are slapped with when you open the container. If you get past that, I recommend trying a small sample of. The sauce before covering your meats. It tastes just like it smells. I will not be returning.

Pros: Good food and free ice cream cones. Cons: Out of chicken 1.5 hours prior to closing. Side dishes were lukewarm at best(macaroni and jalapeño beans). Removed the self serve BBQ sauces 30 – 40 minutes before closed. Felt very rushed like they were trying to get people out of there starting 45 min before close by sweeping around you and putting all the empty chairs on the tables. Overall the food was good, would have been better if warm, but doesn’t compare to Famous Dave’s.

Living in North Carolina for half of my life I’m very skeptical when it comes to BBQ. People in North Carolina think apples are good there hasn’t had real ripe honey apples in Washington. That being said we got a Rib plate, it comes with 2 sides, a roll, and pickles and onions that we didn’t get for that combo. We got the Mac N Cheese and baked potato casserole for the side. Second thing i ordered was a 3 meat combo consisting of the Beef Brisket, Barbecue ham, polish sausage with my 2 sides of fried okra and barbecue baked beans. The line was almost to the door, as i stand there waiting to order, i wonder to myself, who is in charge of this restaurant? There is not a person that sticks out as a leader of the pack of idiots that work there. Not going good so far lol. The lady running the sides station has her hair braided but with no hair net and in Washington state if you work around food, you need to keep your hair in a restraint or hat, not good again. Finally we get our food! Woohoooooooo right… ah eh its just alright! The ribs was wayyyy to salty, poorly seasoned compared to what I’m used to. I already tried the chopped Bbq my big sister brought to their house one night, that was just flat, moist with no sauce. Moving on to the Ham, Brisket, and sausage. Polish sausage was decent, the brisket that i was excited for failed me big time. Ham is no Virginia baked honey ham. The sides, Fried Okra was great loved it, BBQ baked beans loved it, Mac N cheese Loved it, potato casserole was ok. For a drink i had to try the sweet tea, Loved the popcorn ice and fresh sweet tea. Also at the end of the $ 30 meal they give you free ice cream to help you take your mind off your bruised wallet. Overall its ok. Nothing to be jumping up and down worshipping their food like it was some sort of Holy experience. I miss some Carolina BBQ, Lexington BBQ or Speedy’s also during the Fall Festival in Asheboro NC on Worth St, they will have the Eastern Randolph High School BBQ pit. Good God thats a Holy experience. Tri Cities WA has the best Mexican Food hands down. This place is just flat when it comes to places to have a nice meal that won’t break the bank.
