Only in Wisconsin will you find a drive-thru liquor store. That’s right, you can grab a couple 40’s, a bottle of booze, and some cigars on the run. Though they don’t have a huge selection of alcohol, this place is fun to come to for the novelty of the drive-thru. An interesting note: there’s usually a cat roaming around inside the store, so if you’re allergic, then stick to the drive-thru. Also, the next time you’re throwing a bash and need several kegs and don’t have a way to get it home, then no worries because they also rent U-hauls trucks.

You’ll have to get out of your car to drink it(legally) but you don’t have to get out to buy it. Some may call it lazy, I call it efficient. It can also be cost effective. Much like going to the grocery store and walking the aisles when you’re hungry, wondering the liquor store when you’re looking to get your drink on can end up costing you more than you’d planned. This way you can pull up, get just what you wanted without wasting any extra time or money. And maybe you too can get lucky enough to start your own happy little family after a stop by Shenanigan’s 8 years and 3 kids later, I am amazed what a(not so) little bottle of the good stuff can start.

A Drive-thru liquors?! Uhh huh, sure is! Only in Wisconsin, right? It ain’t all that fancy with a speaker and menu like at a fast food chain. Instead, a lady opens up a window, you ask for your desired booze, and cha-ching…a transaction has occurred. That easy. You can always choose to fight the innate Midwestern laziness and go inside too. Now keep in mind that there is a very high-pitched beeper that rings continually until the door returns to a closed position(in other words, don’t piss off the employee by opening the door widely or taking too long to step in). You also may be surprised to see the employee’s cat who lays still on a desk and seems to be stuffed – Nope, it’s alive alright(and probably hates when you wake her up with the doors alarm). I was happy to see that they have a good sized wine selection, in addition to several fridges for cold beverages. You definitely can’t beat the prices, especially when compared to alcohol selling chains like CVS or Pick N Save. Support local businesses… and be able to say you’ve been through a liquor drive-through.
