Longhorn Barbecue

Highly priced for what we got. Our food was dry and there wasn’t much. My dad complained and the waitress took one of the meals off of our bill which was really nice. Beforehand, however, the service wasn’t great. It took forever to get our food, even though they weren’t busy. I don’t know if we caught them on a bad day or not. Someone recommended the place to us but it wasn’t nearly as good as we thought it would be.

I really liked it. I am NOT a barbecue person. It’s just not my thing, yet I found a lot of things here that I really liked. The thing is, they don’t overwhelm the meat with the sauce. They put very little on the meat then give you two bbq sauces on the side to add. I really like that.

Love their Sunday AYCE (All You Can Eat) Buffet. Great ribs and corn bread. Fresh salad bar. Not much selection though. Surprisingly not so busy on Sunday for a lunch buffet. Nice, clean restaurant. Awesome staff.

My husband and I ate here 2 times and we really liked the ribs, we initially were not that impressed with the sides and found we didnt get as much for our money as we would have liked.
However, we later returned when my parents were in town for the Sunday buffet and that was a much better deal for the money! All you can eat ribs and sides and salad for a great deal and I believe my kids 5 and under were free (although I’m not sure) But the ribs were really good and you could get different kinds of ribs, although they do not have beef ribs. The cornbread is the best ever! The bbq beans were great with lots of flavor.
From now on I will only go for the buffet! And this place is always surprisingly pretty empty, but it makes it nice for my large family and faster service. Also, they have big screen tv’s so my dad and hubby were able to watch football but they were on silent so it didn’t bother me. ;)

The Longhorn is nothing spectacular but they do have a fairly good pulled pork sandwich and the beef is not bad. The ribs are quite good and its a fun place to kick back and have a few drinks with friends and eat some good appetizers. There BBQ sauce is not my favorite but its ok. I make my own homemade BBQ sauce that would put Longhorn out of business but I’m in a different business.

Stopped here for lunch — the lunch buffet. I had never been here before and was trying to make up my mind between the ribs and the buffet — so they sampled me a couple of ribs to go along with the buffet.
The pulled pork, chicken, beef and ribs were lightly smoked — not a real heavy smoke flavor. The ribs stood on their own and didn’t really need any BBQ sauce. They served both the spicy and sweet sauces — both were good. I tried 4 of the sides: cole slaw, potato salad, macaroni salad and beans — all were good — the beans were slightly spicy, slightly hot — great flavor.
For the price you can’t beat all you can eat BBQ and sides.

I really like this place. I can’t understand why it is empty so much of the time, except maybe that it is right behind an Ivar’s Seafood and it is hard to see it driving south on 108^th. I think their sauces are very good, and the barbecue pork is really nice and tender. It didn’t taste roasted to me. I’ve eaten there several times, alone and with family and friends, and every time it has been really good and they give you a decent portion and the staff is friendly.

That’s basically how I felt when I left this place. The portions are fairly big for the price.
Maybe because they only serve pork spareribs, but the ribs were not that good… aren’t they supposed to be moist and pull right off the bone?
If you want BBQ, looks elsewhere, I mean if you are hungry and want some below average ribs and didn’t want to drive far and wanted something close by and convenient (lol) then try longhorn…
½ rack of rib was quite large and I typically eat a full rack.
2 stars for lots of meat, but not all that great.
