The corned beef hash here is amazing!!! Also got a side of biscuit and gravy, the biscuits were definitely fresh! Can’t say one negative thing about this place, so good and very friendly staff! Can’t wait to come back and try the waffles!

I have eaten here several times and the service is always really good. Today however the coffee, had an odd taste, like the pot had not been cleaned in a long time? I had the BLT and was surprised to find that the bacon was a strange taste, rest of the sandwich was fine. The potato salad is always really good. Maybe they buy an unusual smoked bacon or something different. I usually like the food here. Guess I will stick with breakfast as that is always good.

Love this place. Their Maggie’s Mess with sausage is my go to. Today I’m getting the Maggie’s Scramble with Green Peppers instead of tomato’s with a side of biscuits and gravy. Awesome start of a day!

I understand if you’re a stickler for food and like it a certain way… I don’t condone going somewhere once and writing a crappy review. If you haven’t been at least a few times, gtfo… Anyway. This place brings you to life in a time when breakfast was filling, yet affordable. They have an amazing staff as well. I don’t know the ladies by name yet but I definitely want to hit this place up more often. I love it and would and have recommended this place to many people. Simply put Maggie’s is worth trying and if you’re rude and want to review after one sitting… Just think of how hard 2 waitresses have it when they make crap money and deal with shitty people all day, yet smile every second they come near your table. Commend that type of work. Good job!!!

Well, it’s clearly popular! The place was packed for Sunday brunch. The service was great– attentive, upbeat, and informative. The food was what you’d expect for a diner, I guess– good but nothing to write home about. The proportions were gigantic, which is a plus. The downside was the place was so jammed with people I felt like we were in everyone’s space and conversation constantly.

The quiche was so good and a large portion with fresh fruit. The He-man plate was enough food to not walk away hungry. The at home family feel made us enjoy our meal even more. The coffee was strong and never emptied and the water was filled every time someone walked by. It felt like I was in my grandmas kitchen where everyone knows everyone and the smiling and joking was in high spirits! Our first visit and we are so happy we went. We even bought some peanut butter cup cookies to take home for later. We enjoyed our breakfast.

First timer and really enjoyed the open atmosphere, excellent service and exceptional food. Definitely a top 5 on my list for breakfast in the future.

As said in another review, this place really is a gem in Kent. It’s a hole in the wall, locally owned small place that serves both breakfast and lunch. While I’ve never tried the lunch, the breakfast is amazing. They offer a variety of breakfast options, including your classic options(pancakes, sausages, eggs, etc), some restaurant created options(Maggie’s Mess, Maggie’s Scamble, etc), and then some house specials. All of the portion sizes are huge and I rarely don’t take a box of leftovers home. The classic options are good from the ones I’ve tried. My favorite though is the Maggie’s Mess, which is hashbrowns covered with their sausage gravy. It is delicious, but you have to be aware that hashbrowns always cool quickly so sometimes you realize that they aren’t too warm anymore. I’ve never tried it, but I’ve heard that the house special Corn Beef Hash is pretty amazing. The restaurant itself is pretty deep so it can accommodate a lot of people. That said, you may find yourself struggling to find a table on a Sunday morning if you arrive after 9:30am. The wait staff is friendly but sometimes slow and unorganized, but the food is definitely worth the wait. Also, if you go on a Saturday or Sunday, they have great cinnamon rolls that you can order — but you should go early otherwise they will runout for the day! You can also find some sweet baked goods at the counter!

Found this place out of desperation for breakfast food at lunch time and it’s a gem in Kent. Very casual but the staff is so friendly and welcoming. We had to seat ourselves that that’s fine with us! I had the waffle with seasoning fruits and it was deliciousness!!! My husband had the he man plate and he loved it. Caution — the food plate has large portion tho. It’s a cute place with great food and welcoming staff. Can’t ask for more.

Lived in town for a while, but made my first trip into Maggie’s this morning. I’ve heard great things, but I was not impressed. The restaurant doesn’t appear to be in real great shape. Lots of water marks on the ceiling. The food was okay. It all kind of tasted the same, and neither my food or my girlfriends food was very hot… no one likes cold breakfast. We did get seated and got our food quickly though, so that was good. The ladies working at Maggie’s are friendly so that is nice too. Nothing special, kind of expensive for what it was. I doubt we’ll go back.

Maggie’s has been in my bookmarks for some time now, and I’m kind of disappointed. Diners like this(hole in the wall, kind of dingy looking) are usually the best kept secret. Nottt this place. For starters, it doesn’t really have a set theme/décor. They have a bunch of cute little affirmations and wood blocks with engraved quotes everywhere, so there’s that… There’s also a little wall decorated with fall spirit, which I thought was cute! I didn’t like how… hospital feeling this place was. The harsh bright light against the very white restaurant made me feel like I was in an asylum. The service was okay — nothing out of this world and nothing awful. I ended up getting the Maggie’s Mess and a cup of coffee. The coffee is just a drip, so it was good because I was able to put in my preferred cream and sugar. Just like you’d have at home! The Mess was… Mediocre. The ground sausage was kind of bland, the onions weren’t cooked enough, and everything else was just«meh.» Even the gravy wasn’t all that great. I’m glad that I got the opportunity to try Maggie’s just so that I know I’m not missing out on anything — but I know that I won’t be back or rave about this place to friends/family.

My omelette was super basic. It had a fake piece of cheese sitting on top unmelted, really. The other nice touch to the experience, was the dark curly haired young waitress shoveling food down her face, right in front as she waited for customers food to come out! And not like small bites here and there but like chipmunk cheeks full of greasy food. GROSS!

The place is old fashioned, old timey. It’s like walkin into auntie or granny’s kitchen. You seat yourself and they come serve you. My bf and I came by one day for brunch. I got a coffee, and a Maggie’s scramble with an English muffin. My boyfriend got the biscuits and gravy. The coffee was just like coffee you’d make at home. Before keurigs and verismos. I’d skip it next time and just hit up the bux or kona coffee down the street. I was not impressed with the scramble at all. It had mushrooms, eggs, tomatos, diced ham, onions, potatoes, cheese… It was HUGE. The English muffin(your choice of bread/toast) was already slathered in butter. It was honestly something I could make at home, and more fit to my liking. The biscuits and gravy is butter town! The sausage and gravy were pretty good, and the biscuit was tasty but super buttery. The whole thing was what I’d expect but it was overwhelming with how thick, mushy, and buttery it was. The best part about this place is their service. The waitresses are so kind and friendly. One of them kept cracking jokes and playing around, and she asked us how we were doing and what we do in school like she genuinely cared! They make you feel good and they treat you like family. No wonder they get so many regulars! TLDR: The food is unimpressive; two stars. They have HUGE portions which is nice. The service is amazing and that’s what the third star is for. I would love to come back because of their service but the food makes me stray.

It’s not phenomenal, but it’ll get the job done if you want a breakfast joint in Kent. I’ve had Maggie’s Mess & Maggie’s Scramble. They’re both mediocre, but huge portions. The customer service is decent. Sometimes it takes longer than usual. If you’re not a regular they don’t get to you as quickly, especially if a regular comes in after you do. It’s convienent & fills you up with leftovers to take with you. Since its really the only place to go for breakfast, I’ll keep coming back. It’s not terrible, just not amazing either.

Every single day, I drive on by and I always want to stop in. Breakfast is the best and only meal worth it for the day. I mean, seriously, you can’t get better than breakfast. Saturday, my girlfriend and I decided we’d enjoy the day leisurely with breakfast. I got a Maggie’s Mess and she got their specialty belgian waffle with ALL4FRUITS available. The coffee was spot on, and she got her orange juice with ice in her glass just as she likes it. The mess was well cooked hashbrowns with sausage and gravy on top. Unlike other hashbrowns, they weren’t greasy but perfectly browned and crispy around the edges. The gravy wasn’t super thick or thin, but the right consistency. Her waffle was brown and crispy, with fresh fruit beautifully arranged on top with rings of fresh homemade whipped cream(just heavy whipping cream and vanilla!). Perfectly seasoned throughout, great portions, and good prices. I’m glad we finally stopped in. Definitely a place to keep coming back to!

Was hungry for breakfast so stopped by Maggies. The place was about 1⁄3 filled so I just grabbed a seat and was quickly waited on. I ordered coffee, «He Man» three eggs, ½ sausage patty, ½ ham steak, two bacon strips and a single French Toast. They actually served me a full sausage patty when it arrived. The portion is large and was good. The scramble eggs were over cooked so it was dry. French toast was disappointing because it was cold. My toast that came with He Man was warmer than the French toast and I only put a little of the syrup on the French toast. I would try this place again and will order something different next time. This place was free WiFi, street parking, and quite large.

I’ve lived in Kent for 1.5 years, but had never made it to Maggie’s until today. I’ve been missing out! We arrived around 10:15am and easily found a table in the back. Our waitress super friendly, funny, and provided just the right amount of attentiveness. I had two scrambled eggs, a sausage patty, hash browns, and an English muffin with jam. The sausage patty was sooo good and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The hash browns had a crispy top, but were a bit too soft and mushy in the middle. They were still tasty with some salt and pepper though. The muffin was great. I also had a glass of apple juice. My boyfriend had the chorizo omelette, which I stole a bite(or three) of. It was HUGE and super good. His daughter had the same meal as me, but with bacon instead of sausage. The bacon was plentiful and extra crispy. Prices were good for standard breakfast fare. We will definitely be back again! :)

Maggie, Your food wasn’t all that good to me. Your Chicken Fried Steak was bland. Maybe you can do better next time, if I come again. Your hash browns were flavorless. But your quiche looked good and I cannot dismiss. Your homemade corned beef hash was salty like your server said. It tasted ok and I’ll take that over your canned version any day my friend. Your wheat toast was the only thing that was done perfect. But and then I didn’t come for that, I wanted a good full meal to make sure my shirt won’t fit. Your restrooms need more stalls. Or else you’ll make people wait, all the way to the hall. I do hope you improve. Because I’ll still come back for that quiche watching you get back your groove!

They were really busy this morning. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated but the staff was friendly and they moved quickly to clear tables. The place is much bigger than it looks from the outside. The menu offers the usual breakfast fair plus a list of daily quiches. They serve big portions but the food was just ok. My coffee cup was kept full but like the food, it was just ok. We smelled like grease for hours after we left.
