Yum! I almost didn’t give this place a try because of other reviews, but Im happy I did. I had to try the Plantain Roll and absolutely loved it! We also had the Spicy Tuna and an appetizer, everything was good.

WOW! What a difference a second visit makes. First time food was fine. Well prepared, hot and relatively decent service. Second visit it was simply awful. Service was bad bad. Entrees arrived before appetizers? Manager, Margie, obviously, not on duty tonight. Noodles arrived soaking in sauce — horrible — sushi– not really fresh. A total disgrace and expensive, too.

Best Japanese fusion cuisine. My favorite is the pork belly. Also best sushi I have ever try. Unique flavors, Very fresh. They have full bar which is not common in key Biscayne. They have amazing cocktails and incredible desserts. They also have a very convenient schedule for those who like eating late. 100% recommended.

I’m sorry to do this to a new business on Key Biscayne, but I just cannot sit silent while it has a 4.5 average rating. The décor is awesome and the service was good, but unfortunately the food was bad. After eagerly awaiting to try China Garden’s replacement, we opted to try Motto for lunch on a Saturday. We were the only ones in the restaurant and ordered seaweed salad and a couple of rolls. I wish I could be more descriptive in defining what I didn’t like about the salad and rolls, but they were just bad. The textures were wrong, the temperatures were wrong and the flavors were bland. Hopefully, things will be better during our next visit as I definitely plan on giving them another opportunity(even if they replaced our only Chinese restaurant on Key Biscayne).

Although this restaurant has only been open a few weeks they have nailed down the food. It is impecable! I can say that this was the best restaurant experience I can remember having. The restaurant is small, like most in Key Biscayne, with indoor and outdoor seating. The décor inside is so interesting I caught myself staring for quite some time. The owner decided to pay tribute to Japanese culture and collected various artifacts ranging from baseball uniforms to samurai armor and has them displayed throughout. The Kani Alaskan king crab was cooked to perfection and served with citrus air and almond butter dipping sauce which was delicious and original. The Bone-In Rib Eye is marinated in garlic, ginger, cilantro soy and the chef is an expert at locking in all of those flavors. The shaved black truffle also helps its cause. The Rossel Marquesa is a Venezuelan dessert with a crème brûlée style burnt sugar topping… This quickly climbed my list of favorite desserts to #1! I was elated after this meal. The only thing I needed was a bed to sleep off my food coma! This restaurant is a definite must try… Even if it’s out of your way.

I have dined several times at Motto and it surpasses itself each and every time. This is not your typical sushi restaurant but rather a Japanese inspired restaurant that fuses several remarkable flavors. The fish is very fresh and prepared in an expert way. No worries about your rolls falling apart here. Also, incredibly enough their 24 oz ribeye can compete with any I have eaten at supposed high end steak houses in Miami. The staff is very attentive and quite knowledgable of the cuisine and is especially helpful in recommending the right saki for your meal and palate. By all means, head to Key Biscayne and experience Japanese food like no other.

Extremely expensive, the food is good however, awful decoration, very noisy… Don’t think I’ll go back …
