This is a great place somewhat off the beaten path! I came of course for stone crab, and I loved the selection and the prices. They even cracked them there on the spot for me to eat with my lunch. While this is mostly a fishmonger, they do have a small outdoor restaurant that is counter service only. It’s right on the marina and just has a great low key vibe. I’ll be back next stone crab season! I also had the lobster sliders, a ton of food! Very good

Food is great here! We got two fish baskets and an appetizer platter. Plenty for the three of us. My dad really liked this place — the food the view and the actions(of the Pelicans) on the water. There is a retail store to the side that sells fresh fish and other seafood. You can buy it fresh and ask the kitchen to cook it.

In A Nutshell: –This place took the crown from Splash Café in Pismo Beach for the BEST clam strips. –These things tasted so fresh, were so crispy and yet so tender after you take a bite. Wish I lived closer. –Check them out if/when you find yourself driving down towards Key West. –The shrimp were also damn good. The texture of the meat seems to melt in your mouth much like how stone crab meat does. –I wasn’t to cray cray over the conch ceviche though, too fishy for my buds. Overall, if you really, really need stone crab they will ship anywhere within the USA, which is good to know and will come in handy when the day comes.

The food here exceeded my expectations! My boyfriend and I got the Lobster philly and the Lobster BLT and both were fabulous! Also try their lobster bisque, it was stellar dipping your fries into a bowl of that! The conch chowder was tomato based not cream based like I originally thought, but delicious as well. All and all you won’t be disappointed. You can’t get any fresher food with fisherman literally dumping the fish off in their backdoor!

Usually vey fast and friendly. DELICIOUS food! This place is always packed on Friday/Sat and closed on Sunday so beware! I’m lucky because I can just walk down the street to have the freshest seafood in Key Largo. Simply great. Stone crab chowder is to die for. I usually opt for the baskets. Lobster BLT is also excellent. Pretty much anything you get there is a win.

I had the fried grouper; my wife had the grilled hog, and both were dry and overcooked. This is supposed to be a seafood restaurant, and this just shouldn’t happen. Nice, laid back, vibe at this place, but I’d rather they dealt with seafood seriously.

Fantastic stop for seafood. Thanks to Unilocal,we knew to go into the seafood shop first and grab some delicious Stone crab claws. They also had a pile of fresh Florida lobsters, and had I a full kitchen I would have been totally tempted to pick one up. From the seafood market, we picked up the claws(5⁄5), some conch salad(3.5÷5), some fish ceviche(3.8÷5), and two tubs of frozen soup(lobster chowder(5⁄5) and conch chowder(4.5÷5)), and a miniature Keylime pie(4⁄5). From the outside café, we picked up a grilled lobster(5⁄5), and blackened scallops(3.5÷5) I chatted with some Miami locals, who visit this place every weekend to pick up some fresh fish, and they told me about the lobsters which you can get grilled it that’s not on the menu. That was so amazingly fresh seafood. In the price here, for what you’re getting, is not bad at all. A note on the market, that it closes at 5:30PM except on Fridays and Saturdays, when it closes at 7PM. The café itself will close at 7PM. Hungry Kat, two paws up approval.

The feature of this restaurant is that You can purchase crabs and shells at the market inside the building and eat them at the open air café. One of my purpose of traveling to Florida was to eat Stone Crab. We were satisfied to be able to eat 2 pounds of Stone Crabs at a reasonable price!

This place is the answer to: where to go for lunch when you are close to Key Largo? Our party of five tried the conch fritters and coconut shrimp for appetizer. The fritters were a little bit chewy, however the shrimp were huge, delicious and fabulous! For main course we had the Mahi chipotle wrap, the lobster wrap and Mahi baskets. All were fresh and extremely flavorful. The chipotle wrap has the right balance of spicy and fish. Both wraps had plenty of fish/lobster to fill you up. The fried Mahi baskets had plenty of batter fried flaky, and perfectly cooked fish. For sides we picked the default French fries and some tostones. The fries are the perfect companion to any of the dishes. I personally prefer big tostones that are crunchy outside and soft inside. The ones served here were the right size but unfortunately to soft.

Excellent place. The service is pretty much self service as you order at a window, get a buzzer, and then pick up your food at a window and seat yourself. That’s fine by me. The most important thing is the food and it was really good. I go there every time I’m in the keys and try something new. Everything has been delicious so far. The ambiance is cool too. The seating area is right on a working dock. You see the boats coming in and unloading their catch. We used to drive all the way to mile marker 38 or so to go to another place to go get stone crabs. It was good, but the drive was so far. Now, we come hear for stone crabs(awesome by the way) and save ourselves the additional two hour drive. Only thing I would change is the entertainment. They had some cheesy guy with a keyboard singing in broken english. There is alot of bar talent in the keys. Get a better guy. This place is a winner in my book.

I really wanted to like this place… Really, really did! My husband had heard it was a really good place to grab a bite to eat, so we took the drive to have lunch from Miami. Needless to say I really wasn’t impressed. You place your order at the window and they give you a buzzer so that you can come back and pick it up when it’s ready. The guy taking the orders was nice, helped us make our decisions by letting us know what he thought were the best items on the menu. We ordered: — Blackened scallops: these were great, soft and perfectly seasoned. — Conch fritters: I’ve had better. — Cuban Dolphin Sandwich: this was delicious. –Lobster BLT: My husband loved it. I had a bite, but must have not gotten a ton of lobster, but I thought it was good, not great. — Lobster Philly Sandwich: this was good as well. — Fries that come with every meal seem like those frozen, yet addicting, seasoned fries. All in all, we’re glad we went and checked out what the hype is all about, but don’t think we’d go back because we’re craving it. Like most places in the Keys, it’s dog friendly, so we were able to take our pal along for the ride. But since there wasn’t a server we had to give him our own water. Last thing that killed the vibe was the guy playing the keyboard, mini saxophone and singing karaōke in broken English and Spanish. That’s not what I want to hear in the Keys. It was quite comical to be honest. Reminded me of a movie, but I can’t quite put my finger on it… Hmmmm…

This is a Key Largo staple. You must stop here when you’re in town or on your way down. It’s incredible. This place serves as the distribution point for the rest of the Keys seafood. So their little café outside and store inside is as fresh as it can get. My husband and I come here quite often and have seen it developed over the years. The outside seating area is perfect view of the water and a great place to hangout and listen to some live music. Best conch salad in the upper keys. My recommendation is to get it from the inside it comes out cheaper for a larger amount and you can’t take it home if you have left overs. Must try: fried hog fish, lobster bites. Delish. Also, take some of their homemade butter if you get fresh fish to take home and cook. Enjoy!

Right by the marina where my husband went fishing. They were filming the Netflix show Bloodline. Order and pay at the window, get your beverages, get a pager have a seat, and pick up at the other window. I ordered a Land Shark beer, a pinot grigio wine, and the blackened scallops appetizer($ 7.95). The wine comes in those little single serving bottles with a cup. The order didn’t take long at all. Fresh tasty scallops and blackened seasoning, not oily, just perfect. We were having dinner at another location, so I didn’t try other items, but I did want to pass that up to eat dinner here! Fresh seafood, good prices I want to come back next time I’m in the Keys.

Someone at our condo had recommended this spot to us and my only complaint is that they didn’t recommend it sooner. We went there on our last day for lunch, but we would have gone 2 – 3 more times had we known about it. Get yourself a nice bucket of ice cold beer and sit back and enjoy the best chowder I’ve had, not to mention crab claws with some great remoulade sauce. We also tried the grouper and it was top notch. They have plenty of food to choose from to eat there and tons of prepackaged to take home. It’ a must if you are on Key Largo. Best food we had on the island.

Mahi-mahi tacos. Hell yes. 5 stars. Mahi-mahi quesadilla. Ummm, yeah. 4 stars. Seafood chowder. Yep. — 4.5 stars. Great atmosphere. Kind staff. #location. Win. If I could do a 4.5…I would, but it’s closer 5 than 4.

Hands down the best seafood that we had in the Keys! On our first trip to the backyard fisheries, we lucked out and got to talk story with the owner. The told us how he started as just a tackle shop and expanded to what it is today. He gave us a complete run down of the seafood that they sell as well as yummy samples of the chowder. He even offered to cook up some lionfish but unfortunately, they didn’t have any in stock on any of our visits. So, like true foodies/fatties and unsure of we’d ever make it back here, we decided to sample the menu: 1 bucket of Islamorada Sandbar Sunday beer(see my review of them too!) 1 chipotle shrimp wrap 1 Cuban dolphin sandwich 1 order of lobster bites 1 order of conch bites(not a fan of conch) 1 cup of rock crab chowder(amazing!) All of the food was amazing! The superstar of the day was the Chipotle Shrimp wrap and the Dolphin(mahi) Cuban! I was a little doubtful of the Cuban since it was described as a Cuban Sandwich with a piece of dolphin. BUT I was wrong, the saltiness of the deli meats really meshed well with the fish. The chipotle sauce in the Shrimp Wrap was off the hook! It was just the right amount of heat to give the dish a little zing BUT not take away from the crunch of the shrimp. I ended up getting on of these on every subsequent visit here. Of all of the seafood that we had in the Key’s this place was my favorite. Eat with confidence.

This place is an all around winner, and probably number one in key largo. If it weren’t for this backyard grill, I would probably continue driving to Islamorada for food. I have tried many dishes but have two favorites, depending on my will to eat healthy or not. When eating lean, I go with the grilled or blackened fish of the day with a chopped tomato, feta, and cilantro preparation and a side of spinach. On a normal day, I order the lobster BLT on a croissant. It’s huge, comes with a side, and tons of huge chunks of lobster and bacon. So so good. There is also a little market where you can pick up some delicious smoked fish dips and a really nice seating area alongside the water. You really can’t beat it.

Hidden Key Largo gem! Fresh fish and seafood out of the ocean and into my belly! I wish I would have learned about Key Largo Fisheries sooner. it truly is the best fresh fish market I have been to EVER! My hubby and I went for Valentines Day since I was craving stone crab and had heard about this place from the Key Largo Crab and Seafood Festival. If you want something from their raw menu, you have to order inside the market. If you want one of their cooked meals, you order at the window. The fish market was crazy busy. I ordered one pound(about 7 – 8 claws) of regular stone crabs for $ 19!!! That’s cheaper than Publix and fresher than any other place I had ever ordered stone crab from. While I was inside the fish market ordering my stone crab claws, my husband ordered a lobster BLT and lobster wrap — I recommend dividing and conquering if you want to order from both the market and grill. The lobster BLT with delicious! The combination of soft buttery croissant, spicy mayo, generous lobster portions and bacon was AMAZING! The stone crabs were a taste of seafood heaven! The ambiance was great with a live one-man band playing random island tunes(from Jimmy Buffet to island version of Daddy Yankee), dockside picnic tables, the smell of the ocean and the fresh Florida breeze! BEWARE of seagull… We were there an hour and saw a flying seagull poop on someone’s arm and swoop for some grub. I would recommend sitting away from the docks to avoid the ‘gulls. $ 65 for a lobster blt, lobster wrap, beer, coke and pound of stone crab is ridiculously cheap and don’t let anyone else try to convince you otherwise with their Unilocal reviews. these people obviously don’t know the value of fresh, good food. Can’t wait to go back!
