Just the best. My fave: Pear-adise Sunset martini; hint of sweet, hint of bite. You get it all here. Excellent service, fresh scrumptious food, cool atmosphere.

Wonderful little gem found in the alley off Duval attached to La Trattoria. The same menu is served at both so Virgillos is a good choice if La Trattoria is busy. We found awesome work there the night we were there, Tommy is a great bartender and Doug and the guys played awesome music, tons of fun.

The WORST bar service I have ever experienced! 30 minutes to even be asked for my order.

Visited March 2015 My husband & I heard about the Monday night martini madness & had to check it out. It was worth it! I had the chocolate martini & my husband had the appletini, both were excellent. At $ 5 each you couldn’t get much better. We will make sure to be in Key West on a Monday night again!

Saturday 3 of us we’re looking for good quality drinks so we headed out to this joint. When we arrived we saw there was live music in the back room with 2 bars and an awesome band playing all kinds of classic songs like rolling stones and bob marley. martinis were about $ 13 I had a few questions about the drinks and the Bartender was getting frustrated. I get the impression that they are very impatient down here. Check this place out band starts at 10pm.

Horrible bouncers. No atmosphere and horrible martinis even if they are cheap. The half price is a racket. They are half the size of the normal. Sure the normal size cost twice as much but they are more than twice as big. Just a scam to get you in the door.

Came here for martini Mondays, when all of their martinis are $ 5. Fairly intimate and quiet for being on Duvall, and we liked the low light ambiance. Seating was dicey but we lucked out and shared a table with a nice couple of transplants from Rochester, NY. The pear martini we were hoping for wasn’t available, but the bartender duo turned out a chocolate ‘tini that was smooth and not overly sweet. Would definitely come back for the martini deal and, though there are probably better spots for live music in the area, we highly recommend you stop by!

Interesting little bar behind a restaurant on Duval. I think the location and idea was great, but had a lot of issues with customer service and making the customer comfortable. I had the rudest waitress I’ve had in a long long time. I would have left without buying anything but I brought a few guests and didn’t want to disappoint them. Furniture was very uncomfortable. Martini list was cool but there were no prices on the menu — a sign of a place that’s trying to be more than what it is. No need to come here when you come to key west.

This place is completely solid it’s a great bar to go to, what you’re single or you bring some with you say it really good drinks in the price isn’t bad comparatively look for Nate he makes a mean martini I think is probably the top five martinis in the world. Thank you for your night and your service tonight

We really struggled with the cigarette smoke. This is a smoking establishment. If not for the nasty air quality, we would have gone higher on stars. The bartender, his ability to make a drink not on the menu and the quality of service is what we loved about this place. We really kept seat hopping to get as far away as possible from the smoke, but found ourselves overwhelmed by the nicotine, so we called it(and left). Loved, loved, loved – minus the tobacco.

Virgilio’s is one spot we always manage to pop into when we visit Key West. The have a fantastic late night menu, a really great bartending staff that doesn’t make you feel like a tourist and always a great live house band. That is why we usually go, for the music. Great cocktails, strong and pretty decent prices. Off the beaten path than the typical stuff of Duval and many locals hang out there. It’s a great mix of ages as well without the frat mentality or doucheness of Duval tourists. Recommend!

Every time I go to Key West I end up finding a secluded spot I’ve never been to before. Located behind La Trattoria on Duval, Virgilio’s Martini bar is my latest discovery. My friends only found out about this spot last time they were down since they ate at La Trattoria. Virgilio’s is a great spot if you want to escape the madness of Duval. It’s a cozy outdoor bar that plays live jazz. They also have some specialty Martinis available in addition to a full bar. There are several couches and other areas where you can get cozy with a loved one or hook up with someone on the down low. I wouldn’t say it’s a «secret» spot but passing by the entrance you wouldn’t necessarily know that such a cool place is inside. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking to catch your breath during a long night of partying on Duval, or to bring your hookup from Fat Tuesdays for a nightcap/insurance drink.

I think the concept of the Martini Monday is really great and the band were brilliant… …however, I don’t like Martinis, so I went mainly because my boyfriend does and was told it was generally a fun night. Well when we got to the bar, I ordered a cocktail and for the reaction I got from the bartender, you would think that was illegal on a Monday. I asked three times for the cocktail as the bartender just kept staring at me and I thought she couldn’t understand me, then finally she gave me the biggest look of disgust, I mean like I had just ordered a glass of her urine, and she said«um you know it’s martini Monday right!!!» I told her I did, but didn’t care as I didn’t like Martinis. She then threw the martini menu at me and told me that I had never tried their Martinis so I didn’t know what I was talking about… I told her I had tried many that they had in their menu and could I please just have a cocktail, she then went on to ignore me, told me she’d make me any martini and I did like Martinis, I just didn’t know it… I’m sorry but good god, the drink I wanted was more expensive and I was happy to pay it– I know she wants to promote the night but I’m 25, I’ve tried plenty of Martinis in my time and I don’t like them– you’re a bartender just please make me what I asked for… It really was a shame as it puts me off wanting to go there again.

Last visit was Nov 2011, almost a year ago and has always been memorable! Our favorite place to hang out when there’s a jazz group. After speaking with one of the local(monster guitarist) musicians, got the feeling that there’d been a recent change in management and that they were less interested in keeping this a Jazz venue than the previous owners were(being a spring break kinda town, and all). Hope that’s not the case! This was our second vacation on the rock, and 4th time at this fab martini bar! Come for the sexy atmosphere, indoor-outdoor seating, great drinks, top-notch bartenders. and by far, the best music in town!

Monday Night Martinis — FYI the place doesn’t open until 7:00 pm for the martini special. Also FYI: You have to go down the side/back of the building to get in, don’t mistakingly go into La Trattoria like we did and think that you’ve arrived to Virgilio’s. Either I ordered the wrong martini or the bartender made it wrong — the Martini Virgiiio was nasty, but my wife loved her martinis. Either way the martini night is a great deal, and when you go around 7:00 there is a nice chill vibe.

Great martinis, great music, great tree growing in the middle of the place! Dimly lit martini bar with fantastic music and an exposed ceiling looking out on the night sky. One of the best martini menus that I have seen.

A couple other reviewers hit the nail on the head with this place, and that’s actually the reason my friend and I ended up checking it out. We’re from DC, and the Duvall Street shenanigans just wasn’t our cup of tea(I know, I know — so how did we end up in KW?) So we actually dressed up that night(well, not DC dressed up, but dressy for KW) and were looking for a chill place to have some drinks on a Wednesday evening. Although the reviews sounded good, we were still a little hesitant. When we arrived at about 10pm and looked in the window for La Trattoria, we thought — it looks dead, maybe we should cut our losses and leave. But then we saw the sign that the bar/lounge was in the back and decided to pop our heads in. And what a difference the back was! Very cute place, dimly lit, exposed sky in the back bar, yes a tree growing in the middle, and Audrey Hepburn making her mark on the wall. Only negative is the smoking. We got there right as the live music was starting and were told it was blues/rock. Once again, we were hesitant, but stayed… didn’t want to waste the makeup, LOL! But the drinks were on point — had both martinis and champagne, and the music was pretty good(one lady singing, a drummer, and a guitarist) doing covers like Macy Gray, Alicia Keys and some 80s stuff I had heard before but don’t know the band names. Overall, this was a great find for two single ladies who enjoy the lounge scene. We were told there would be salsa the next night(Thurs) and intended to come back, but had a little too much fun on the Fury Rum & Reggae cruise *wink*!

Restaurant, Bar, Zoo. That is what the sign says on the entrance of the building. I’m assuming they are talking about an evening’s chain of events. Or that it is an indoor/outdoor bar, Tree Bar as the locals call it. The food is delish. If you haven’t been to Virgilio’s accompanying restaurant The Tratertoria, I highly recommend it for an old-school Italian restaurant dinner. Viriglio’s serves a special«late late night» version of The Trateroria’s menu. The pasta is fresh, the sauces are flavorful and salads are always a bit different according to the season. Yet, food isn’t the main thing at Virgilio’s. The martinis are. Their list is pretty extensive and they make something for everyone. I’ve had the a Mango Martini and a Chocolate Chip Martini. I don’t recommend drinking more than 1 unless you want to be very, very drunk(hence the«Zoo» part of their sign). They always have live music later on in the evenings and the place gets jumping with all the local Key Westers. Mondays they have $ 5 martinis which is probably one of the most dangerous deals I’ve heard in a while considering the alcohol in those things. However, everyone knows Key West locals drink a tad more than the usual human being.
