The Green Room

Loved everything about this place! The staff was very friendly and energetic, the live music added a great vibe to the atmosphere, and the range of unique drink choices was exciting! Not only all of that, but the bartender was telling us that The Green Room pledges 5−10% of their proceeds to local environmental conservation organizations! What a great way to help out. Truly impressed. Will return, most definitely!

I wish could add more stars to this comment. My wife and I stopped in while waiting for a table on Cinco De Mayo, and this was BY far the best drink I had while I was in the keys! Key lime pie with graham cracker around the rim! Dear sweet mother of God this thing was perfect! Let me say I do NOT like key lime anything, but this frozen drink was no joke best thung ever! Do yourself a favor and add the lime rum shooter in it! Seriously best drink you’ll have in the keys!

I had seen the reviews for The Green Room a week before our trip & wanted to try it out to see what it was all about. I’m so glad we stopped in! The frozen coffee drink was amazing!!! They are a little bit pricier than the other frozen drinks around town but well worth it! We went during the day, so it wasn’t busy, but I have seen it packed at night. I can’t wait to go back!!!

This place was suggested to me by a very enthusiastic clerk and shop assistant. I took their advice since they were the only non– white people under 40 to be seen on a Friday night. I needed something more than awkward Midwestern housewives trying to reclaim their wild days. I was pleasantly surprised that the place was busy and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. The bartender however, ignored me, and was quite curt when I finally waved her down. Different gentleman closed my tab. I did not feel welcome. Shame; I had such high hopes!

This place has turned into one of my favorite Key West places to go. It’s not big by any means. Simple bar in the heart of Key West’s late night scene. We visited every night during our trip. Mike on Monday had us covered. Drink prices were reasonable for the area and the entertainment was by far the best musically we saw that week. Many locals were there but everyone was chill and welcoming. With all the larger touristy destinations nearby, it was nice to step into a place that fostered the Key West spirit so well. The only place in Key West that I’ve toasted with Russians while a Scotsman and my buddy were being taught how to hula-​hoop properly by a girl from Costa Rica. Friggin phenomenal.

Stopped here because they had the Broncos game on. 10 minutes left and the dude changed the canal. Who does that? The drinks where not good enough to over look that. Lots of other places in this town. No stars for you.

Awesome local bar! As visitors here they definitely made us feel at home but with awesome frozen drinks and great live music. Definitely will recommend this place to visiting friends

Cool little place. The bar is tiny and usually full, but they are pretty efficient at serving drinks. Usually some kind of solo performer is playing on the tiny stage in the back. It’s a fun place to drop in for a drink.

The 2−1s are the way to go here for happy hour, a nice little stop on a Key West Bar Hop/​Pub Crawl type of day.

We stopped in because someone gave us a couple buyu one get one free drink coupons. so, naturally, we accepted. I ponied up tot he bar and got a draft. nothing fancy. the place is cool, has a nice little vibe and atmosphere to it. When we were there, it was just a few of us and the bartender. The others at the bar were locals. which is always good with me. they have really cool light fixtures made with old 45 vinyls and cassette tapes. and the Green in the name seems to be a tribute to Mary Jane. We had our two drinks and kept it moving. seems like a fairly new place.

I come to Key West every summer and was thrilled to stumble upon this gem on my 2015 trip. Our initial interest was how cool the bar was given the extreme temperature outside but what we found inside was every thing we wanted in a KW bar and more. We were on a girls trip with 25 women and four of us ventured off on our looking for a chill bar while the rest did more touristy things. We ended up spending the entire day there and convinced all the girls to come join us. We were in fact tourists and our drink prices were in sanely reasonable. We were there the majority of the day and it was my lowest bar tab while on the island. The owner was our bartender and he and his wife were fantastic but the highlight of our day was the amazing live music. Jason was extremely talented but even better, was so much fun and truly made our trip. We had so much fun dancing, singing along, and drinking with all our old and new friends. We even went back the next day and spent the majority of that day at the Green Room as well. This is the perfect combination of local/​tourist bar that welcomed a bunch of crazy tourists to come in and make them feel welcome. I can’t wait to go back next summer. It’s definitely a wonderful addition to the Key West bar scene.

^^3 ½ Stars. Cool little trendy bar with some awesome talent. Frozen drinks are plentiful. Great location on Greene across from Sloppies with a terrific theme design concept. Looking forward to another visit to hear the amazing sounds of Kristen McNamara.

Awesome little bar. Loved the green wall and the local talent that sang with it. There’s only one bathroom but it was CLEAN!!! Always a big plus!

Living in keywest we have an amazing amount of night life. As a local I try to frequent a combination of local style bars with the typical tourist locations. My favorites are the parrot Kevin’s and green room. The bartenders are on point to say the least. You have high energy people that love to serve and make sure you have a great experience. From Aubrey to Jesse to cat to bobby you will have a blast! And if you happen to stop by for some hair of the dog… Handlebar Mike will give u the best coffee ever!!! I find myself frequently at the greenroom for life experiences!

Nothing less than awesome! Love the organic frozen drinks with a shooter of course! My favorite is Key Lime — sample any of 8 before you decide. Killer bartenders. Comfy atmosphere. Great live music! Locally owned… I think I’ll stay here all day!

Surly bartender really brought me down. I ordered a drink. But I was really interested in learning how to gain access to the property upstairs. My great grandmother was born in that room, and there was a DJ from a local radio station out on the balcony. I just wanted to have my picture taken on that balcony as a gift to my father. A long shot but worth asking, right? I mean the DJ was up there. DJ told me to go ask inside the Green Room. The bartender did not even let me finish my sentence and was cutting me off, uttering only 5 words: «No way, ain’t gonna happen» and walked away. It was an odd reaction. I waited awhile, sipping my drink, and then also inquired if I was even asking in the right place, did this bar have access to that balcony? He said yep, and again walked away– just not friendly, not interested, just not a normal response. He was not busy, only 4 people in there, he just did not have a good personality for service. you would think he would explain or chat or something. He bummed me out.
And then when I paid, I really felt like he overcharged me for my drink. Someone later approached me when they saw how annoyed I was, a local and regular, and said that they are known to upcharge tourists.
So many bars in Key West, may as well support ones with friendly staff. this guy had a handlebar mustache, if you walk by and he’s there, I’d just keep on walkin.
UPDATE: please read the most excellent response from the owner below. Will definitely be giving this place another try, it sounds like they really do care about the way their customers are treated!
