This is a super cool spot! Very laid back with awesome drinks! The drinks were great! Their drinks freakin’ rock! Did I mention how good the drinks are?! To top off the fantastic concoctions we also received great service! We then sat outside on the porch and people watched! We will be back!

This is a small little cute bar that specializes in rum. Yum yum rum rum. Its the sort of bar where everybody talks to everyone, including the bartender. if you want to be unsocial, there are tables as well. I had a mojito, which was very very well made. You can also get a dark and stormy, bloody mary etc. All the drinks are about $ 6-$ 8. This is one of the most popular bars in key west so you should definitely go.

Can’t get enough of the Pina coladas here! It must be the rum they use because they have an awesome selection. The place itself is small and quaint, and can get filled up pretty quick if there’s some tour groups coming around. There’s space out on the patio as well. Our bartender Josh was great! Will be back our next trip

If you like rum, this is the place. Jill was great behind the bar, answering all our questions and making great recommendations. They also make a tasty hot chocolate, with a little«extra flavor».

Stopped in on a Saturday night and grabbed chairs on the patio. I had the painkiller, my aunt had the rum punch and my mom a beer. Drinks were tasty and reasonably priced. It was nice sitting outside and we enjoyed watching the people walk by. Definitely worth grabbing a drink or 2.

Great local bar with super friendly bartender! She makes the best Dark & Stormy. 250+ types of rum on the shelf. It would take you a long time to taste them all, but I would go back and try!

I am obsessed with mojitos! This was a place I wanted to try and it did not disappoint. Mojitos were well done. Not overly sweet or too strong. A good balance all around. The place had just opened so it wasn’t busy. I like the cute little ambiance. Hopefully we will be back when the weather is nicer.

Every time we come to Key West we love to hang out here. We usually do happy hour and love their jerk chicken wings! We’ve tried the chicken Caesar salad and we should have asked for a little more dressing but it was good too. The bartenders are super cool Too!

This is a great stop/start of your evening on Duval. get your expensive drink to be classy, and then switch to the $ 2 beers… The Rum Bar has your classic rum drinks, the pain killer, Mojito, Dark & Stormy… If you haven’t tried a D+S, this is the place to try it. The bar is very small, with limited, and dark seating, but the bar is inviting and fun. They have great tables outside that is ideal for people watching for the interesting characters that KW attracts. It is the perfect low-key, classier, traditional style bar in KW… for either a nightcap, or a solid drink to start your night.

This was my favorite hangout in Key West. Low key and delicious. My favorite thing to do was hang out on the porch and sip on a Painkiller. Lovely rum and well made cocktails. I liked the music that was on in the background, and the fact that we were away from the frat-boy crowd further along Duval. Strongly recommended!

Just an update — it’s the end of an era. Yes, Bahama Bob has retired and no longer serves at the Rum Bar. Let that sink in for a second. The bar itself is still a perfectly pleasant place to grab a drink near the southern end of Duval, with decent prices on select drinks like the Painkiller, Mojito, and Dark & Stormy among others. What can no longer be found here is the level of rum knowledge and experimentation that Bob brought to the table. No more of Bob’s special Barrel Juice, Bark Juice, or Root Juice. The man is, quite literally, a rum expert, and as such was able to guide the customer to the perfect rum for his/her palate. Until this place hires another rum expert, this aspect of the bar is also gone. For Key West, it’s still a slightly better than average bar, but in all honesty, I can’t contain my disappointment. We miss you, Bob!

Pain Killers are awesome! And the bloody Mary’s are fantastic for a ‘Rum Bar’!! LOL

You’re in paradise, so get yourself a tasty beverage. This little bar, which is attached to an inn on the southern-end of Duval, is a nice place to grab a drink or two. Me and my wife had the Dark and Stormy, and the Painkiller. Both were tasty and we enjoyed them immensely while sitting out on the front and people watching on a gorgeous spring night. The only drawback is that the bar is very small and seating is limited. After a few minutes we were able to snag a few seats because a big party left, but it would have been unfortunate if we were unable to sit while we were having our drinks. Also, the service was rather slow and it took a long time to get our drinks, which is bar service only. Other than that I recommend this place if you are looking for a low-key bar to grab a tasty beverage that’s in a great setting, but isn’t in the partying hub of northern Duval.

This small bar is located in the Speak Easy in and Bahama Bob is a craftsmen with his Drinks, two of the best tasting rum drinks I have ever had. The Pain Killer is a one of a kind drink is Pussers Dark Rum, Coconut Milk, Orange Juice and Pineapple. It was just perfect to start the bar hopping in Key West. I also Tried the Mojito which is also made with dark rum instead of the normal light rum I am use to and it blew my mind how great it was. Just perfection. A must stop on any trip or vacation stay in Key West on Duval Street.

Great service, excellent company and a Rum judge running the bar. Not your typical watered down«vacation drinks» here, folks. This is serious rum.

This was an awesome place to stop and have a drink. I HIGHLY recommend the«Pussers Pain Killer» drink, it was like dessert in a glass. The bartender(who I think was the owner) poured tasty, not watered down drinks that really helped me get into the vacation spirit. They have a huge expansive amount of rum and liquor a on hand and even have a private glass room full of bottles. This is a small bar with a wrap around porch. We couldn’t find a place outside to sit, but it was still nice to sit inside and watch the bartender work. While we were inside one of the local cats walked in and hopped on a barstool(see pic!). The woman(who I’m guessing was also an owner) gave her some cat treats and she was on her way. I love people who care about animals, even a stray. Definitely come here and definitely get the pain killer. It’s a must!

YOHOHOAND A WHOLELOTTARUM! The small but mighty Rum Bar stocks over 200 types of rum to choose from in addition to its fully stocked bar. It is located in the front portion of the Speakeasy Inn vacation rental house. From light and sweet to a fine selection of dark sipping rums, this place has the largest selection of rum around. Having been here numerous times pre– and post nights out on the town, The Rum Bar is always terrific. Tonight we stopped in for a nightcap, a beer for my husband, and a glass of Zaya on the rocks for me. Anne the bartender is always so wonderful. She makes all the locals and tourists feel right at home. This is also the only place I will order a Dark & Stormy. For some reason they taste better here than anywhere else. You can sit around the intimate bar for some neighborly chat, or take your drinks outside and relax in a wicker chair on the front porch. There is plenty of people watching along the street to pass the time away. The Rum Bar is on Duval Street just to the left of La Te Da.

Five stars because they made one of(if not) the best mojitos I’ve ever had! On top of that, we met some friendly folks while nestled against the bar and overall, found solace from the storm. Literally. We walked in here soaking from head to foot. My boyfriend was ready to strangle me as I may(or may not) have told him it «wasn’t raining that hard» before we left our hotel. That’s what he says but I don’t really remember because once we took one sip of our rum laced drinks, all previous quabbling was all but forgotten. The famed Bahama Bob was not working that night but a very nice lady was instead! As I said before, we ordered some mojitos that were not too sweet, not too citrusy and most importantly, packed a punch without us even realizing! The overall feel of the bar was very calming as well. Everyone at the bar was striking up conversations and it really made for a pleasant time. Two mojitos each later, we were ready for dinner down the road. We were anxious to go back to The Rum Bar the next night but were a little too far away; however, I have no doubt this will become a regular rotation in my Key West haunts!

Small and quaint bar with excellent and cheerful bartender. My aunt ordered a pain killer drink to help cure her hangover. It was really delicious and different as it had coconut cream in it. Unusual. After drinking half of the drink, she was feeling much better. The prices are kind of pricey, but it is a great place to start off your night or morning as you’d want a quality mixed drink to get your day going and be able to savor its flavors for the price you paid. Seating is slightly limited as this is also part of an inn, but feel free to pull up a chair from outside or inside wherever you are to sit with your crew while you enjoy your drinks.
