This was a wonderful surprise in downtown Kihei. The service was quick and very pleasant with Supapan as our sever. She suggested several drinks with the Siamese Mule and Thai Lemon Ale taking top honors in our group. We order the spring rolls and the chi hen satay which both had great dipping sauces. Our main entrees included the pineapple fried rice very tasty, short rib panang curry as well as the Choi Chee yellow curry with Mahi Mahi. Both dishes were excellent and we cleaned the plates. We would highly recommend this Resturant for both price and quality.

Disappointing again. Friends told us about the new owner and much improved menu. We’d given up on the place after a bad experience in 2012, so gave it another try. No problems, just not the good Thai food I was hoping for. Had their spring rolls with shrimp… Tried the Chef recommended Panang short rib curry… Chicken laab… Jasmine rice… All mediocre. Friendly but not great service. This won’t make our list of restaurants on Maui not to be missed.

Thai food with a pleasant uniqueness. This place is a sit down restaurant, clean and bright. I ordered the Thai railroad fried rice. Very good fried rice. Steak, garlic, onion and egg. If you don’t like onion you’ll have to order it without. A lot of big chunky onions on this(I’m not an onion fan) but easily picked out. Pricing is average for the area. I’d definitely go back.

9 years ago I would have said this is hands down the best thai food. Coming back, they have expanded and their brand is prettier. It’s super nice and modernized inside. I was sad to see their excellent coconut shrimp had left the menu. I once went here every other day while visiting for 2 weeks. Now I went here once on a week long trip and I have no desire to go back. Typical thai food that tastes decent.

Very good, very fast. Pass on the fried items and be cautious when asking for hot! I spend my money here and I grow Thai basil & lemongrass. Good food try it!

If you want to eat delicious and real Thai food, that’s not the place for you. We waited about half hour to order food… I don’t mind to pay double price for what it should cost in Maui, but the food there were pretty bad for Thai food… I ordered yellow curry, Tom yum fired rice, pad see ew, and chicken satay… They were bad… So disappointed.

Our friend from the mainland took us out for dinner here 8÷8÷2014. If a Thai place can’t do drunken noodles you know you are in the wrong place. We live next door and I walk, ride and drive by this place everyday for a good reason. Having said that, we’re seeing 4&5 star reviews for 2016 and we’re wondering if we dare try it out again. Seems the prices are high, so we are reluctant to try it again. When we venture out to spend $$$ on food we are very particular about who we share it with.

Food was delicious. Service was excellent. They have a very good papaya salad and the pad thai was better than most. Good selection of cocktails, all with a Thai twist. I had the strawberry basil mojito, it was delicious and refreshing. If you’re in South Maui, you should check it out.

Pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. Not too impressed with the pad thai but the yellow curry, green papaya salad and lychee lemonade were delicious!

If you’re on vacation and you go to a restaurant twice, it must be great! Shiitake spring rolls, fresh veggie rolls, Panang curry and noodle dishes were superb! Great vegetarian options. :)

Wonderful atmosphere and high quality Thai. It is Chef inspired Thai Hawaiian Fusion. Shiitake fried spring rolls and curries with short ribs. Bring your richness appetite and your dollars. The drinks are just as inspiring. I would opt for either one of the happy hours to get a sample. Pupu’s 2 for $ 14. Plus discounts on drinks including 2 signature cocktails. Great date night place too especially at bar area.

We could this place on Unilocal while on a vacation to Maui. Turns out we love this place! Food is good, nice environment, and friendly people! We ordered Kalua pork spring roll, green chicken curry and cashew nut chicken. They were all delicious and good portion. Price was less than we expected. Will definitely try it again when we go back to the island.

I thought it was a solid meal. We had the drunken stir fry with chicken and pineapple fried rice. Parking lot stinks. But if you’re staying in Kihei you probably figured that out by now.

We loved the friendly staff and as soon as we came in they seated us. Paco was our excellent server, a true 10 and he explained the menu to us and answered all of our questions. They served rice four different styles and they were all excellent. We had the pork and vegetable rolls for starters and our party of 8 really enjoyed both types. The Thai chicken cashew was excellent as well as the pineapple fried rice. The drunken noodles were suggested and enjoyed. Those who ordered Pad Thai were happy yet we were all disappointed that none of us ordered curry of any kind. Next time. It was a different style than we are used to but we enjoyed it and we would love to see more choices on the menu.

Liked it! My husband and I were trying to find vegan options that didn’t cost a million bucks near our resort in Wailea. We asked the server what was vegan, and she said everything except the yellow curry, Pad Thai, and a couple other dishes. We ordered pad see ew and pad kee mao with tofu. Both were not too oily(my pet peeve with Thai food) and filled with crunchy veggies. I’d highly recommend it if you’re looking for something lighter and flavorful in Wailea/Kihei.

Thai food in Kihei, Maui? This restaurant, while not a hole in the wall, is at the very back of a strip mall, farthest from South Kihei street and Kamaole Beach 1. A guy staggers out of the restaurant, with one too many to drink, and we ask him what he likes best –anything with drunken noodles he says! It’s 630pm Wednesday, and the place is packed, including 9 ladies for baby shower. Large windows overlooking the parking lot, with Asian fixtures amid the bamboo partitions. Ambiance of the orient. The wooden tables with plastic chairs are very close together –hope you like your neighbors! Very noisy, not for a romantic first date. The staff is polite and at our service. It takes a 20 minute wait to get a table, and a 15 minute wait for food. So if you are in a hurry this restaurant is not for you! $ 17 drunken rice noodles seafood: 9 small squid, 2 shrimp, 1 mussel, string beans, carrots, flavorful rice noodles, and cabbage. The rice noodles have been cooked in a special liquid to give it more taste. Delicious, but poor value, but this is high priced Maui! The wife had $ 16 kua curry(yellow) chicken pineapple –finished her meal. Like all curries, it looked like a soup, with pieces of chicken floating on the surface. The portion is on the small side, with rice on the side. Now the wife loves Thai food, and there was no way to keep her from coming back a second time. This time we arrived right at the 5pm opening bell. Place is empty, and we get a complimentary appetizer for getting in before 530pm, consisting of two shrimp balls, two vegetable egg rolls, and sliced chicken, complete with two types of dipping sauce– hot and hotter! The wife gets the $ 15 chicken with eggplant, complete with carrots and green peppers, with rice on the side. Decent size dish, and presentation is fabulous. I get the $ 19 panang curry with short ribs. I can see the four bunches of broccoli, but the short ribs are drowned in a sea of panang curry, complete with green peppers and sliced carrots. The ribs are to die for –super tender, melts through with a fork –no need for a knife. Would have like a larger portion, but I’m filled. For these prices you would expect an ocean view, but alas, the ocean view is blocked by cars parked in the parking lot. You know which restaurant my wife is coming back to, next time we are in Kihei. If I had taken her to this restaurant during our pre-marriage dating period, it wouldn’t have taken her so long to say yes.

Maui Thai Bistro is hands down one of the best thai restaurants here on the island of Maui. With exotic flavors and a nice atmosphere you can’t go wrong with. All of the waitresses are super friendly and attentive. The restaurant has happy hour but am not sure of the times; you can get 2 dishes for $ 14 out of a variety of pupus. I ordered the Pad Thai with tofu, this dish was bursting with flavors of lime and spice. Another dish I got was the tom kah, a soup bursting with coconut and lime flavor. Also, the panaag curry was delicious, but a weird thing about the restaurant was that they charge extra for rice; but the curry was awesome! The last dish I tasted was the pork Laab; it had a strong tangy flavor but still had a great taste. I love this place and will be coming back again!

Went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday. I had the Pork Laab and chicken satay as my appetizers(2 for $ 14), a delicious«My Thai», and the drunken fried rice with beef. The pork Laab had an incredible flavor, distinct from most cooked meats, the chicken was cooked to perfection but could have had a little more flavor to it, or the peanut sauce. My friend rice was flavored exactly how I wanted it! And thanks to our friendly server showing me each plate I was interested in, I was able to choose the perfect one!

The food here is pretty average. We had the shrimp toast as an appetizer and think was the dish that stood out the most. It’s fried bread with shrimp paste. I had the tom yum soup and my husband had pad see ew. We were recommended by some locals to give this place a try. Good food but nothing spectacular.

Went there for lunch. Small and quiet little restaurant. Had the pork laab for appetizer, chili snapper and pork stir fry. All were super tasty. Pork Laab has a unique taste and goes well with their side salad — making it fresh and crisp. The Chili Snapper was abundant with five fillets with a chili sauce that was slightly sweet cutting the heat of the chili. Service was friendly and just enough engagement. Will definitely go back.

We were originally going to dine at another nearby restaurant, but that didn’t happen due to being ignored and the lack of service. That’s what led my family and I to Maui Thai Bistro. Upon finding the restaurant, which is located near the far end of the shopping center, we were immediately greeted by a friendly hostess, who ended up being our waitress as well. She was very nice and attentive to all our needs, throughout our visit. I would say I enjoy Thai cuisine, and was overall happy with my experience and meal here and so was my family as well. We ordered mostly all noodle inspired dishes and loved most all of them. They had great flavors and wonderful tastes. Take a look my pictures to see what we ordered. However, we also ordered a Thai Ice Tea and it was not as sweet as other Thai restaurants tend to make it. It was most definitely not worth the $ 4 they charge for a cup. That’s unheard of in a Thai restaurant, most of the places I’ve had it at are under $ 3. It’s kinda sad, this place could’ve easily gotten a 5 star rating, but sadly it’s as simple as charging $ 4 for a Thai Tea that brings it down a star…

Went to this place for dinner on our last night in Hawaii and it did not disappoint… they were all over our dietary restrictions, made a great tofu fried rice dish and their drinks were excellent… it’s a little set back from the main road but definitely a spot I would recommend…

Just ordered take out with my friends and tried a few dishes. I’ve also dined in. I would opt to dine-in as the food experience is different. Be advised, medium heat really means hot and hot means on fire when you’re dining here! Drunken noodles with seafood– 2 muscles, 1 shrimp, calamari, carrots and broccoli stir fried with fat flat noodle. It was okay. It seemed dry and the noodles are a little over cooked. The taste, however, is good! Pad Thai– probably a better choice then the drunken noodles. It’s best when a lime is squeezed. You have the option of peanuts and sprouts. I like adding both, just absolutely no cilantro. My preference of course. Also, be conscious of your heat choice. Beef fried rice– another favorite entrée. Decent amount of beef and vegetables, flavor is not overpowering with salt perfectly seasoned. Pork spring rolls-it was more like vegetable spring rolls. But, I enjoyed them. Crispy even after 10 minutes on a take out box! Staff is tentative and kind. The ambiance is very casual.

To be brief: I ordered a take out order by phone. When I arrived it wasn’t ready and ended up being about ten minutes longer than I was told. Not a biggie. Food though lacked flavor and the appetizer portions were TINY. Spring roll order included three spring rolls for $ 12. Chicken satay order included ten small pieces of chicken for $ 12. The website showed four skewers of chicken which is pretty standard but our order had maybe two at the most. Overall kind of disappointing.

Absolut empfehlenswert!
