Pretty blah sandwiches, not a ton of flavor, for the price. I was expecting something more gourmet and then they forgot the cheese on my 12.00 sandwich. Not worth 4 stars.

Wailea’s secret gourmet treasure chest! Extraordinarily fresh ingredients most of which is grown by the owners. If you haven’t been here you absolutely must come and check this delicious gourmet deli out!!! They also have breakfast all day !! There’s nothing like it on Maui. I’m in bliss! I wouldn’t expect anything less from the same owners of Capische in the hotel Wailea. Also one of my favorite restaurants!

On our final days spent vacationing on Maui, I was looking for some famous cookies(The Cookie Lady) to take home as a gift. We found out that The Market by Capische carried these goodies. Well, what a nice store! We had a great time just browsing the unique items. We ended up ordering ahi tuna melts with avocado and Wow! Best sandwiches(or meal) we had on our entire trip! Reasonably priced too! We will try to make our last lunch here before we go back home. Highly recommended and great staff as well. Mahalo

Great little market for foodies. Upmarket ingredients for cooking at home, plus fun small kitchen items for yourself or gifting. You can get ready made sandwiches or salads to go or order hot food from the grill. We’ll be back to try the latter.

Went here to grab a quick breakfast, and wasn’t super impressed. We both had a ham, egg, and cheese sandwich which was good, except I feel it had way too much lunchmeat-style ham on it. Where I think this place fell short was with the drinks. If you’re into overpriced exotic fresh-squeezed fruit drinks(some of which I never even heard of), then you’re in luck. But all I wanted was a bottle of orange juice, and my girlfriend a simple diet coke. Neither were anywhere to be found. I don’t make direct recommendations for other establishments in a review, but if you want a suggestion for the best local breakfast sandwich place(in my opinion), look up one I reference in my review of the Marriott Wailea Bay on here.

This store has so many awesome foods and goods like CHEESE, wine, various imported goods and desserts, both house made and from local stores. I had the caprese sandwich and it was delicious. My friend ordered the ahi panini and she enjoyed it as well. It’s a great spot to visit!

Amazing food! This is such a perfect little spot and we were treated like old friends by the women working there. Breakfast was so good we are going back later to get a sandwich to take to the beach.

This has to be one of my favorite spot in Wailea! If you’re looking to get away from resort foods and restaurants, this is the place for you. They bake their breads fresh everyday, all their ingredients are either made in-house or locally sourced! A must try is their spicy Bahn Mi made with their house cured crispy pork belly, pickled vegetables and siracha aioli or fresh daily juices! But, this is not only a sandwich stop spot, it’s also a very sophisticated retail shop. You can find a lot of great gifts to take home like decorated plates, quirky tea towels or kitchen gadgets! Also, do check out their Mothership restaurant, Capische? At Hotel Wailea, absolutely gorgeous and delicious!

Sitting at home watching a show on Barcelona, craving some good cured meats. Remembered The Market was close by. So disappointed in the taste, the absurd thickness of the Speck that was not trimmed properly so we ended up with all fat and no meat, which resulted in a odd oily taste :( The staff definitely needs to be trained in the proper trimming and slicing of the meats. Also got a few cheeses and some Coppa that was ok and the Homo which was sliced to the thickness of jerky.

I dig this little market and I dig the bread that they sell even more. That is what makes me keep going back. I’m not sure if they make it or if they get it from a bakery but it’s some damn good bread. I did have a sandwich once and it was tasty. It wasn’t too memorable though unfortunately. My sweets and I go there to buy our steaks for the nights we grill out. Oh and did I mention the bread. We lucked up one time and scored some local haiku filets. They don’t get too many since many of the restaurants snatch the beef up first. It was the best tasting steak I have had since I moved here. They have an ok selection of wine and nice little gifties for the home and what not. We bought a chefs knife that was locally made with imported steel from japan and local mango wood. It is beautiful and the best quality knife I have ever used. I don’t think I can ever use another knife again LOL. Go check this place out you won’t be disappointed. It’s a great little shop.

I’m not terribly impressed by the coffee served here but you simply can’t beat the variety of gourmet foods and drinks offered at this charming little off-shoot in Wailea. If anything, stop in for one of their freshly-baked croissants.

Nice looking little Italian market at the entrance to Wailea. After an extended visit to these beautiful islands my little one and I stopped in while out looking for a lunch to bring back to the beach. Tired of the the resort food. Being from Chicago with all our great Italian delis this sounded great. Sorry to say that we were let down. Very limited selection of food one might actually find in a real deli. Seems like their target audience are the wealthy people who vacation in the area but who somehow have never been to a real Italian deli. We ordered two fancy panini sandwiches that were both actually very good. The caprese sandwich being better than the steak. The first actually tasted like a decent caprese salad while the second might have been made with Steakumms. Where is the selection of salads or olives or cheeses or deli meats? How about a decent sub? How about some cookies or cannolis? The best part of this visit was allowing the tree guys dressed in designer resort beachwear to cut in front on us while we decided which sandwich to get then listening to them perfectly pronounced acai a hundred times while they argued which version of a lunch drink would taste best. It drove the staff crazy. Admittedly me too, but I bonded with these fellas discussing the values of a well made Italian dessert which this place is also lacking. So two sandwiches, two bags of expensive fancy chips, a sparkling water and a limonata(at least they got that one right) cost us $ 50. Two stars off for poor selection and trying to call yourself an Italian deli. And one more because of the mediocre and slow service overall and the somwhat snooty cashier lady. Walk two doors down and go to Subway.

One thing Maui seems to lack, are good little delis. I was surprised to find The Market by Capische is a pleasant surprise, with some of the best sandwiches on the island. Everything is made with fresh, quality ingredients; and the store also has a great selection of about anything else you would ever need. The staff has been friendly and helpful on each of my weekly visits over the past few months. Brian Etheredge has another winner to complement his restaurant in the Hotel Wailea.

Loved the lilikoi and purple yam pies. Kale salad is good but don’t care for the dijon dressing. Great alternative to subway for locally sourced food, picnic items such as meats and cheeses.

We had the grilled 3 cheese sandwich and BLT last night and both sandwiches were great. Very good place to stop by and shop as they have a large selection of beverages and desserts as well.

A little nycish market in Wailea, Maui. We stopped in for a quick bite before the beach. It’s definitely a little pricey, but very unique. Fresh pasta to take ands make. Fresh juices and cheeses. I had the bacon, egg, cheese wrap with a salted caramel alfagoto latte; both were very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Let me say this: you can’t charge $ 8 for a glass bottle of water(as your only regular water option) and pretend that it’s ok. I asked the woman at the register if they just had a regular bottle of water or a cup of water and she looked at me like I was crazy. She said, «I guess I can go back to the kitchen and get you tap water if you want.» «That would be nice I said,» trying to maintain a pleasant tone… It was as if paying $ 8 for water was normal and somehow I was a high maintenance customer by asking for a cup of water. If they just just had a normal bottle of water I would have bought it, but the drink selection was weird to begin with. Coconut water in mason jars and like 50 kinds of San Pellegrino. The sandwich was good(turkey and avocado), but the service at checkout was horrible and a very awkward experience. There are plenty of other places to get sandwiches. I’m on the island hosting an incentive trip for business people. We have about 150 adults that come through each week this summer. I will not be sending any of them to the Market, nor will I ever go back.
