Ok food, meh service, terrible wait. The food is pretty pricey for greasy, butter-drowned seafood. There are several better options for seafood right around the mall. Every time I’ve been here, the food takes an obnoxiously long time to come out. I’ve given them a fair shake, but overall the place is just substandard.

People who worked at their are very dishonest. I left my Movado watch on the table .A day later when i called them the manager was very unhelpful and did not put any effort at all to find it. Im 100% i left on the table and someone work at their should have it, Please contact me if you took it. The food was good but people are not honest their.

My first time going in here… Always been wanting to go here. The experience was one of a kind. I seldom eat with both of my hands dipped in the bowl… All fingers got a licking… I ordered the Arctic steam bucket — with whole lobster, shrimps, crab, corn, and potatoes… It was awesome… The only reason it’s not getting a five is the soft shelled lobster — it’s missing that sweet taste of the hard shelled type… I would recommend this place… Oh yeah Alex was nice too…

This was my first time going there with a friend. The atmosphere was very friendly and provided a great setting. The food was very tasty and we received a big portion. For the amount of food that we got, the price seemed appropriate. I would recommend this place for a great night out.

The staff was nice. Our server Kyara did a great job. Everything was timely. I really liked her. The food was very average. We had the crab dip appetizer. Husband had the king crab bucket and I had a bowl of lobster bisque. It was all just okay. Small portions. Really, it was overpriced. I love dining out, and don’t shy from expensive plates. But it’s gotta be worth it. You know? It’s gotta be delicious. We won’t be back to Joe’s Crab Shack.

Hey it’s Joes, the ihop of seafood. I got my steamer pot and oysters. Cocktails were not bad, just inconsistent to what the photo looked like in the menu. I loved that they offer lid steamer pots to. We had a gpod time. It’s not gourmet, it’s joes!

Wow. All I can say is wow. We decided to give this place a shot– driven pat many times and thought how bad could it be? Answer– pretty bad. Our waitress greeted us by basically telling us to buckle in and get ready for a long wait. she was right. It took over one hour and twenty minutes for our food to come out after ordering. During this time our waitress was MIA and when we did finally say something the manager came it and said«we’re getting right on your order». The wait was mind blowing because it didn’t really seem crowded and making buckets of crabs shouldn’t take this long. Once the crabs came out they were average. Frozen crab legs were average and the service as said was sub par. Save your time and money.

The food was quite good but the service completely sucked, the waitress Jessica, basically lied about the fried and hush puppies saying that they weren’t done, as the table next to ours received. And the refill of my water took approx 20 minutes. Not happy at all. It was actually dead inside when we arrived. Don’t know if I will ever return to the restaurant.

Sooooo. This is approximately my third time at a JCS. This is the very first time I’ve been here on a Tuesday. I’m all about a good HH so I was joyous to learn that Tuesday is «$ 2 Twosdays». I was not too happy to have my drink and appetizer given to me in a plastic cup and deli container. Some may think«what’s the big deal?!» My thoughts: if I was at a dive bar, I’d expect a plastic cup and paper plates. If an establishment decides to discount food and beverage items they shouldn’t cheapen how they serve those items to customers. For instance, when I go to happy hour and get a glass of wine for half price, they don’t serve it to me in a plastic cup. It’s kind of like they’ve cheapened their own brand. I did try an look at this objectively because JCS is more of an establishment that has a «backyard» feel. Meaning, they have a roll of paper towels on the table for use and give you your utensils in a bucket. Even so, they also have meal prices that start closer to $ 20. Opposite of that, my food was decent and our waiter was okay.

Favorite place in the whole entire world! Lol, no seriously my favorite restaurant. Friendly staff, I think the prices aren’t bad for seafood and I always get good service… I’ve been here over 10 times and only recall having one bad experience… Which was corrected. I definitely recommend this location

A solid 3 star meal. The service is friendly but reactive, pay actual attention to what your guests are doing and we won’t have to flag others down for things like refills, everyone was very nice though. Food was decent. The fish tacos were fresh, but a little less exciting than the pictures depict, maybe more than a 2oz ramekin of pico to put on the tacos and chips that come with? Overall the place is very clean, restrooms, tables, bar, everything looked great. It was our first eat at joes experience and I’m sure we will be back again.

So 8 of us decide to come in for happy hour and dinner after our work shift. We work in retail and understand a little bit of customer service. I am a vegetarian and yes you must wonder why I was at Joe’s Crab Shack, but hey it’s my second time and I was here and had to make the best of it! I decided to order the crab nachos without the crab. I asked Sasha, my server, if she could put it on the side or will there be a price diff! Her spontaneous answer is we don’t put it on the side. I asked her if she could check in the kitchen if they can do it and she says no, our kitchen can’t do that either. So vegetarians should not even try to accompany their friends to this place for company! I hope the manages are aware of this kind of service that servers are giving!

I’ve passed by this restaurant multiple times, in different locations, while on the highway and always wanted to try it. Came here with my Bf’s family for New Years dinner since we were in the King of Persia area. Arrived at 8:30pm on a Friday night. There were only a couple of tables having dinner. Drinks: Beer — Samuel Adams winters beer was very crisp and refreshing. It’s is a dark beer. Mai Thai — came in a take home tiki glass. The drink was very weak. Tasted like watered down pineapple juice with some alcohol. Appetizer: The sampler was okay. I really like the jalapeño poppers. It was filled with crab meat and cheese. The crab nachos was cheesy. The calamari was standard. Entres: Bean town bake — 2 decent size lobsters with old bay seasoning. The lobster was very salty. The 1lb clam was basically nonexistent. It was mostly shells with no meat. Joes classic steampot — there was a lot of crab legs. Those were meaty and slightly satisfying to break and pull apart. The corn that came with it was slightly undercooked. Maybe the kitchen should cook the corn half way, then place it in the steam pot to finish cooking. There was a lot of shrimp, but they weren’t the best. They were noticeably prepackaged frozen shrimp. The shell the shrimp was black in some places, and so was the meat. Overall the meal was good, but you can definitely tell that all of the seafood is from the frozen food asle. But I don’t usually have seafood, so it was okay. Anything dipped into butter will taste good!

Was very disappointed and should have checked Unilocal reviews before going here. Hit Joe’s Crab Shack in KOP on a Friday night after Christmas shopping at the mall. The first indication that we should not have eaten here was the fact that the place was dead. Ordered the king crab legs which were okay — a bit rubbery. My girlfriend had the crab cakes which were terrible. The manager basically said that the recipe is what it is. and that other people had complained. Wow. We were sitting at the bar and I had sat there with an empty pint glass after my first beer until after finished eating. Terrible bar service. Like others before me. wont be back.

I guess my third time here wasn’t a charm . I first experience JCS back at home in MA when they’d opened up their location in my Andover, MA and their food, drinks, and service were amazing. My second time was when I relocated to PA area and they opened up their location in the city ave section of Philadelphia. Their food, drinks, and service were also amazing . But last night I had JCS in KOP. My food didn’t taste the same. It’s been about 3 yrs since I’ve been back. I ordered my usual appetizer crab nachos and it wasn’t as good as the other two locations I’ve had it from. Although my clam strips were good. For dinner I’ve ordered the KJ steampot and my boyfriend ordered the bean town bake steampot. Our food wasn’t good at all. It just had a weird taste to it. My corn that came with the food didn’t cooked all the way. My boyfriend was complaining about his food also. His sausage were raw. We already waited quite some times for our food to come so we didn’t bother to ask to send it back and grab another one . No complaints on my drink. My server was nice and attentive. Sorry to say but for the price we’d paid last night I rather stick to my local seafood places for my seafood fix . My server was very nice and attentive.

I cannot believe how many poor reviews are on here?!! Perhaps they have stepped things up since some of the negative ones, but my family and I agree they deserve 5 stars for the experience we had last night! So my wonderful daddy was craving seafood for his 75th birthday dinner celebration, so I gave him a few choices… JCS being the one he picked. So glad we did! He said it’s the best birthday dinner he ever had, and really enjoyed it completely. My mom, dad, me, and my son each ordered Steampots.(Three lobster and crab, one with 3 diff types of crab, with the upgrade to Dungeness.(Although my husband is a crabby person(hahaha!), he doesn’t like to work for his meal, so he chose the East Coast platter. He felt really sick after dinner, but I’m blaming his awful digestive system rather than the food.) We arrived at around 5:30 pm on a Friday night. I was shocked to find no wait. Staff held the doors for us to enter and welcomed us warmly. We were quickly escorted to a nice sized booth. The restaurant was clean and the room temperature was perfect for even my mom, who usually has to bring a sweater when we eat out. Our waitress was quickly at our table to take our drink orders. Her name was Terquin, according to the receipt, and she was SUPERB! She was extremely attentive and we could not have asked for better or more friendly service.(Hint hint, mgr… she deserves a raise!) We could tell she really enjoyed her job, as she added little extras just to make our experience even better. We ordered the sampler appetizer platter, which consisted of very yummy, creamy crab dip with chips, calamari that was tasty, perfectly soft and not at all chewy, and a few of the«Balls of Fire», which were kinda like hushpuppies, except filled with crab imperial type filling with some jalapeños mixed in. This appetizer tray was absolutely perfect for our party of 5. Just enough to give us a little taste of what was to come, without being so much that you feel too full to enjoy dinner when it comes. Terquin then brought us each a bib. She wrote cute little things on each of them… different for each of us.(Dad’s said«Birthday Crab» and had little balloons drawn on it, mine was«Happy as a clam», mom’s was«I’m a great catch», Bray’s was«Don’t worry, be crabby», and the hub’s was«East Coastin’», since he actually didn’t even need a bib for his meal, but she didn’t want him to feel left out, lol! Oh, and her handwriting was really nice! I’ll have to try and post a few pics here later) This kind of reminded me of our experience at Dick’s Last Resort in Tennessee last summer… where they write stuff on these tall white paper hats they make each guest wear– Really fun! Our Steampots were AWESOME! Even my father, who never seems to get enough, raved about how great the quantity and quality of food was. We each had a good size sausage link, corn on the cob, new potatoes, shrimp, snow crab cluster, and a nice sized lobster, and everything was cooked perfectly. We were checked in on just the right amount of times by Terquin, and felt well cared for without being rushed at all to get out so she could turn over the table.(Even though it was starting to get a little busier.) They have a nice little hand-washing station right in the middle of the restaurant so that you don’t need to run to the bathrooms for that. Hating most public restrooms like I do, I found this to be a great feature. They also supplied rolls of paper towels and wet wipes at the table. At one point during dinner, the music was turned up(just for one song) and the whole staff came out and did a little dance around the restaurant. That was so fun, I almost got everyone up from our table to join them! Our waitress was really enjoying herself and was fun to watch. We did not have desert… too full from the awesome dinner, and didn’t want to loose that sweet crab & lobster taste in our mouths! I really tried to get everyone to order desert, since I was looking forward to them doing their little birthday thing for my dad when they brought it out. However, they opted to let dinner settle and have ice cream at home later on. On our way out, Terquin told my dad not to worry… she knew that he really didn’t want them to call attention to him, so she would not have anyway. Bummer for me since I like to see him blush, but very observant, thoughtful and kind of her so she’s forgiven :) We will DEFINITELY be back, and will request Terquin if she’s working. Thanks so much, Joe’s Crab Shack KofP, for a fun night with excellent food and service! Worth every penny.(Around $ 200, incl 20+% tip for the 5 of us, but you could def do cheaper if you want, since we went with more pricey items.)

Wanted to go a little light for lunch so I ordered Redfish ‘N Lobster. They topped it with a creamy lobster sauce that tasted much like low quality cheez whiz with a hint of spice. Probably wouldn’t order this again or recommend it however I did finish my plate clean so overall I wasn’t too disappointed.

I’m not exactly sure why this place has 2.5 stars? The food and service was on-point to me. I’ve only been here one other time though, that was in SC. The only downfall to dining here was the clams, don’t expect to get them in decent size. They were small as a dime! I got the fried clams which were good! Our waitress was Bobbie Jo, such a nice girl! Yeah, I really don’t have much to complain about here. It was a nice place to come after a long day of shopping at the mall. Which is nice that it’s basically right across the parking lot, not hard to get to and right off the turnpike! PS: They should really change the leather seating, HAHA.
