Mediocre steakhouse. Appetizer was shrimp cocktail. 18 $ for 4 shrimp which were mushy and room temperature. Cocktail sauce was basically just ketchup. Entrees of scallops and filet were just ok. Nothing special. Didn’t even bring me a steak knife for the filet. Best part of the meal was the small side of mashed potatoes.

We decided to go to LP Steak House before going to the Artie Lange show(Sat 11÷28÷15). we had made a 6:30 reservation through OpenTable. We were a few minutes early for our reservation(6:20)and told that we would be seated in a moment so we sat at the bar for a cocktail. Nearly 15+ minutes later when we were not seated I went to the hostess stand to find out about our table because we were tight on time for the show. The hostess then proceeds to tell me that they sat another couple at our table. Grrr. We were then seated fairly quickly and greeted by Sampson our server. We both decided on filets Medium rare which Sampson agreed was best and recommended by the chef, Kobe beef for my wife and a regular for me. We both got a simple side. We also ordered a nice bottle of 2011 Stag’s Leap Cabernet to go with our steaks. Sampson told us some 5 minutes later that they were out of the Stag’s Leap. Grrr#2. We chose another bottle and awaited our dinner. Sampson came to open our new bottle and looked like he had never seen or used a 2 stage wine cork before in his life. Incredibly clumsy and hardly graceful. A good 30 – 35 minutes later we had our wine filled but not once during this time was our water refilled. Oh, and then about 2 minutes before our steaks arrive, a gentleman showed up with bread. Thanks but a biiiiit too late for that(Grrr#3). As I mentioned our steaks arrived a good 35 – 40 minutes later and they were definitely NOT medium rare. Medium is more like it.(Grrr#4). When the food runners delivered our meals neither of them had a clue who ordered what. Basic food service knowledge is that seats at each table are numbered so that you can serve the patron’s food without having to ask who had what.(Grrr#5). The Kobe filet was $ 95. For $ 95 it was a delicious steak, but I would think it could be cooked properly. The food itself was very good. After we were finished and heading to the show we asked Sampson if he could tell us where the concert venue was. He had no idea and had to ask a manager. Really? You have no idea what is in the building where you work? Yeah, it was 3 floors below us. Thankfully before we left my wife, who had been to VF Casino previously knew that we should get our casino access cards from the restaurant. It’s a good thing she knew because our server never mentioned a thing about it and I had to ask him for them. LP Steak House has a loooooong way to go to call itself a high/higher end steak house. From beginning to end the service was average to poor. I have had better service at Harvest in a strip mall in North Wales. Their menu touts a Sommelier but we saw no such person and if they do, why were they out of a $ 130 bottle of Cabernet at a steak house on a Saturday night? LP should be embarrassed to charge what they charge for the product that they put out. Do yourself and your wallet a HUGE favor and go down the way to the Capital Grille. They are the pros. Top notch service and meals every time and with an immense amount of pride. Never have I had anything but a stellar experience and meal at the Capital Grille. Maybe someday when LP grows up they might be somewhere close.

LP Steak opened just in time for my lovely girlfriend’s birthday. I was looking for a new«hot spot» that we haven’t tried before. I had heard of Luke Palladino, but never ventured in to one of his restaurants. Let me start off by saying, Chef Luke and his team were absolutely amazing! The service, the assortment of beers/cocktails, the presentation of the food, and the quality vastly exceeded my initial expectations. We started off with the seafood tower which was over the top and absolutely delicious. My girlfriend is a bit of a seafood connoisseur and she was very impressed. For the main course, I highly recommend the Porterhouse for 2 which was cooked perfectly at medium rare. For dessert, we shared the Chocolate Cashew Praline Cake which was a great night cap to a very romantic evening. LP Steak really made my girlfriend’s birthday dinner a memorable night and we will be back again soon for sure!

We went there for the Valentine’s Day dinner. While most of the food we had tasted good, the service was horrendous. We opted out of doing the Valentine’s menu and did the a la carte because for $ 85/person we felt there should have been more choices on the Valentine’s menu. We ordered the mac and cheese as an appetizer about 15 minutes before we ordered our entrees. We never got bread and butter. The Mac and cheese came out and we had to then ask for the bread. The Mac and cheese was delicious though. The bread was ice cold. Within 3 minutes of the bread arriving, our entrees and one side arrived. We both ordered the NY Strip cooked medium. Mine came out medium rare, but no one came over to ask how everything was in time for me to send it back. We wanted to order the twice baked potato, but were told they ran out of baked potatoes(this was at 7:00 on Valentine’s Day)! How does a steak restaurant run out of baked potatoes? So we ordered the fingerling potatoes and cauliflower. The fingerling potatoes came out with our steak. They were yummy. The cauliflower seemed to have been forgotten and came out about 7 minutes later after we had to ask for it. But it was so delicious. We finally complained to our waiter who offered us drinks on the house, but we were only half way done our current drinks. He sent the manager over who said to enjoy what we are eating, apologized, and said when we ordered dessert and finished, we would talk everything over. We ordered the apple crisp. It had basically no crisp on it. It was like apple soup with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Our waiter brought over the check, only to have taken off the Mac and cheese and cauliflower. We asked again for the manager because he didn’t come back to discuss. After asking 3 times, he came back and took off everything except our steaks. We thought that was appropriate and that the manager handled the situation very well. Unfortunately, we are not running back nor would we recommend this place. It’s a shame because the food is really good, but the service and communication between the kitchen and staff seems to be a mess.
