Humble little shop that reminds me of the many taco shops I’ve eaten at in Mexico. The food is a great value and is legitimate Mexican. Had chicken and streak tacos, both really good. Took about 15 minutes to get our food. Not a ton of seating. That said, great cheaper option for Tahoe!

Food was ok. Seemed like it wasn’t fresh. My husband loved the tamales. Carne asada tasted like it was sitting in a warmer all evening. Lady cooking and doing everything was sweet. Place wasn’t very clean and was not set up well at all. We all left feeling the food was okay. Maybe an off day.

We just eat there, and honestly the food is ok but the torta Ahogada is awful the carnitas flavored is wired and the bread is to soft, if u wanna eat an authentic Torta Ahogada come to San Jose CA, And you gonna find very good food!

This place is impossible to find in most circumstances because it’s a hole in the wall, but to not miss out. All food is prepared right in front of you by cooks who have been making these dishes for years. Be patient, because it is well worth the wait. Seating us very limited, so getting it to go and eating it at the lake is the way to go. Best dish on the menu by far is the chili verde.

A little hole in the wall. The place isn’t very well organized, but don’t let that scare you — the food is really good. The fish tacos were the best. The asada was ok, but I’ll opt for the fish during my next visit.

Lol, I was very amused with this place and the situation. So, our first day in town we take a ride to explore. Come lunch time we Unilocal it. Picked this place because of the star rating. We walked inside and it was like I walked into someone’s house and directly into their kitchen. There was one table to eat at, well it was technically two tables pushed together to make one with a total of 6 chairs. We stood there while one woman sat on the phone. After about five minutes she pointed to the board to order. We go to order, with her I assumed, but then she said, «Let me call someone to help you». Another woman walked from the back of this«house» and prepared our food. The eldest woman did the dishes just 4 ft from the only table. I asked for a beer and was told to grab one from the fridge and the bottle cap opener was on the wall. Wow! I ordered two fish tacos and a beer and my friend two tostadas. Total $ 17.00. Definitely noting upscale here, felt like Tijuana eating. Food was decent, but would never go back. I’m a tourist on the main strip and expect a lot more than something that is normally found on back roads.

Traditional Mexican food you would find in Guadalajara! It’s expensive probably due to the location and lack of ingredients up here but it’s worth it! Get some tacos or splurge on the Torta Ahogada.

Excellent authentic Mexican. Tacos are stuffed with meat for 2.50, good prices for a tourist area. No nonsense, excellent food.

The food is pretty decent but definitely on the expensive side. Bit that’s Tahoe on the 4th of July, I guess! I didn’t like that you couldn’t watch them preparing the food which always makes me very nervous! The outside area is nice but the inside is kinda filthy…

My wife and I were very impressed with this tiny place in North Lake Tahoe. We are from Los Angeles and have tasted some good Mexican food. This place is right up there with the best of them. The place is tiny. It could seat 10 – 15 people and the entire kitchen is right there in the dining room where 2 sisters whip up some amazing dishes. I had a carnitas burrito with sour cream and avocado added. It was delicious. My wife also had chicken enchiladas that she loved. I also ordered a pork tamale that was quite good. We will definitely be back!
