The food was bar food nothing special. I had the Bratwurst and others just OK and the pizza wasn’t worth he cheese it was made with and the chicken fingers are frozen from a box. Like I said it was mostly bar food don’t expect high expectations

Crappiest place to eat… wished I had skipped it. sat for lunch on a Sunday at 11:20. By 12:30 still no food… how long does it take to cook a burger and hotdog… only after threatening to walk away did they bring out our meal. Big sign on front of building says 1⁄3 pound chargrilled… ours were more like an anemic ¼ lb… the fries were greasy. we did not even eat all our food… I would avoid this place.

Best thing about the Grid for me is that it’s a hockey bar. All the games are on during the playoffs and a number of the regulars are keen to watch their teams. Regulars are friendly laid back people and you will see a lot of the same people here in the afternoons to early evening. Food is typical bar fare and I’ve gone there a few times to get the chicken strips and fries.

Excellent Food! I had the Southwestern Burger and my husband had the Hot Wings with Chili sauce. Wonderful view of the lake on their patio — and dogs are welcome!!!

Dirty and gross. Would never go here again. I had my 18 month old son with me and the bartender came up to a group of 9 of us including my son and I and she said there were no children allowed. Are you kidding me? The waitress said… It’s like having a 20 year old. Seriously? He’s two. Long story short… happy we didn’t stay.

Bartender/host/server kicked ass and made us feel very welcomed. Top notch burgers and excellent hot wings. Will come again.

Great local bar! Mike, the bartender is very outgoing and philosophical. Good place to watch the game and socialize with locals.

Let’s say if, The Ratskellar and Cecilia’s had an illegitimate, drunken one-night stand induced love child; that would be the The Grid. It’s great.

Me and my boyfriend came into Tahoe after being on the road and we’re looking for a yummy place to get burgers. This place was delicious!

If you are considering this place. Read this review. Food: great onion rings and burgers. The fries are on par. I don’t think the burgers are the weight that they advertise, even before cooking. Drinks: great brews great prices. The soda is really fizzy but lacks enough syrup to taste like a soda and instead tastes like a failed soda stream. Arnold Palmer is perfect. Drink serving size is really small considering you pay full price. Service: Awful. They walk around aimlessly, treat you like a burden, and are NOT family friendly. We asked what we thought was the manager or owner, «so why is good on the menu?» And her response was, «how about you go ahead and ask your server when they get around to you.» We should have left, but we were hungry. Environment: if you enjoy the company of lost hippies, stoned deadbeats talking about how hard their painting job is and mimicking motorcycle sounds, or if you enjoy the smell of a freshly lit cigarette(with tobacco and/or weed) being blown in your face from all directions — then you will feel right at home. Prices: reasonable, much like red robin prices. 3 stars because service sucked, cups were small, and the attitudes made us feel unwelcome.

Place is good for beer and appetizers! The food wasn’t spectacular but if you’re starving it’ll do! Prices not bad either

We are a 60ish couple and stopped for a beer in the evening and were welcomed so we went back the next day for lunch. Were greeted and seated and served right away. I had the club sandwich and she had a basic cheeseburger. Both well prepared with good ingredients. Cole Slaw was fresh and not overly sauced. Toast on club was perfect. Pretzel bun on burger was great. Over the years this place has had its ups and downs but it has a good vibe and good food now.

I wish I could’ve given 2.5 stars because it’s really between a two and a three star for what it is. Let’s be real, it’s a bar and it smells like a bar — even outside. We walked through the bar and decided to sit outside(the smell isn’t really appetizing) and even outside it smelled like the bar. We ordered wings and a salad and decided to take it to go and back to our room. The service: great, super friendly, quick!!! The food: it’s bar food, not terrible.

We stumbled upon this place back in March and were pleasantly surprised at how good the food is. We order the Southwest burger and Mushroom Swiss burger, as both are very tasty. They cook the burger to your liking and their french fries are really good. We’ve had both good and bad service at this local burger joint. It’s hit and miss with service but the food is good enough. The service today was not very good as our server had an attitude and was very unhelpful and unpleasant. We always eat on the outside patio to enjoy the beautiful weather and gorgeous scenery of Tahoe.

If you like the smell of vomit, diarrhea, cigarette smoke and stale beer, than this is your place! The floors have a permanent sticky surface and furniture has dirt on it from the 80’s. Really, this place is horrible. The frozen food they serve is disgusting and below average. The bartenders act like out of control animals that had too much Coca Cola. The only positive about this dump is their location… Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!

After hiking to Five Lakes, my boyfriend and I stopped here for lunch. Initially we sat at a table, but no one even acknowledged us. I approached the bar where one of the waitresses was standing, pointed to some menus and asked if I could take a couple. She didn’t look at me or even speak to me, just nodded yes. I later heard her talking to another patron about how hungover she was. The bartender was much friendlier and the food was decent. I got the fish and chips, which was pretty good, and my boyfriend got the bratwurst with onions and peppers(which are $ 1 extra), and he thought it was just alright. He said he could cook a way better bratwurst at home. Overall, good in a pinch but I wouldn’t make this my go-to bar in North Lake.

It’s a bar. With that being said, the burgers are great. My wife had the Southwest Burger and it was amazing. I had the Pastrami Burger and that was good as well(not as good as my wife’s). The onion rings were pretty good. The chipotle ranch dip works very well with the onion rings. Service was friendly, but it was Sunday and only one young lady was taking care of the outside dining. She got around to everyone though. I would come again.

We officially found the spot. This place is the missing piece of the Lake Tahoe puzzle, galvanizing north lake’s previously tentative status as the superior«side» of this lovely vacation destination. Having just spent the weekend in a cabin in Tahoe City, we decided to find some beach to sun on today, while also allowing me the chance to find mobile football tailgating opportunities with the Raidermobile. Having sought out some potential Kings Beach spots previously via Google Earth, we got lucky with hunger timing and spotted The Grid on our way back from ruling out Incline Vilage and their«restricted» beaches(meaning, locals only). Private parking lot — check! TVs galore, with NFL Sunday Ticket — check! Friendly staff, with Raider appreciation, double check! We chose to sit on the deck to people watch and strike up Raider related conversation while enjoying the PERFECT weather. Menus come out — heaven! As picky as I am, I usually come to decisions by process of elimination. Not here! Flatbread pizzas, burgers, wings, mozz sticks, tri tip sliders and chicken sandwiches galore. So I went burger and fries, girly went fish n chips, and we shared the gloriously golden fried mozzarella sticks(knowing we will be back for Raiders/Pats in a few weeks, and that football is synonymous with pizza/wings, I went with the lesser likely choices for that occasion) everything was tasty and LOW priced. No idea how this isn’t a one $ on Unilocal. They have it as a $$ so maybe the booze is pricey? The first 6 weeks of the NFL tailgating schedule is complete thanks to the findings up here at Kings Beach and Tahoe Vista, not to mention our future random Tahoe weekends. Can’t wait to come back!

This review is for the night side of the Grid. I only went once for lunch and it was fine, definitely divey bar food, but an adequate situation. I added a star because of that and the free wifi. As far as nighttime, I lived in Kings Beach for years, and the last year I would flat-out refuse to go to any event at the Grid. Why would I do that, considering the lack of nightlife and the fact that this is the only place with«music» on a regular basis? During«events,» they not only charge you at the door, but they increase drink prices by a seemingly random amount. During 4 Wednesday nights in a row, the SAME beer was anywhere for $ 3.50 to $ 6.00 each. Further, the tenders are all total a**holes about asking for anything at all. They definitely pack in as many people as possible. I would bet they go over capacity every event they have. You can’t move around, it’s too crowded, there are no windows, it’s stuffy and hot, and it takes an hour to get to the freakin’ bar to order a drink. CAPACITYIS A THING, PEOPLE. One toilet for women, and it’s often hogged by groups of underage girls doing lines of coke in the bathroom. Lovely. the line is generally 10 – 12 deep. Ugh, the music is ALWAYS dubstep dubstep dubstep. Can we have SOMETHINGELSE, PLEASE?
