Excellent stop on our way home to NJ We grabbed a fight and a bite to eat. A bit noisy but Maryanne was most welcoming We ordered a Cuban and a Joe Mama which was just enough to get us back on the road to south jersey The Cuban Sandwich had a nice chipotle kick and the brew was smooth to wash it down Grabbed a gift glass and a sticker to commemorate our visit

My wife used to go here quite a bit over the years, but after the rude treatment we’ve received by the owner, we’re not going back any more. The beer’s lovely, but with the rise in breweries throughout the region, you don’t have to subject yourself to this treatment any more — try another great small brewery until this place decides to treat customers with respect.

While in the area, we stopped to visit Keegan Ales. We’ve had their beer before but finally made it to the brewery. They do provide tours and we had Tommy Keegan, the owner, do ours which was really neat. It was about 15 minutes but fun to see the process and how they brew. The atmosphere is very chill, with a bar area on one side of the building and an open area on the other which seems to be for live music and events. The bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Make sure to sample a beer before getting a full glass. We tried a flight of the 5 on tap beers and one of the seasonal. All were delicious in their own way(I prefer stouts and porters over IPAs and Ales). I definitely recommend getting a flight. Their food was really tasty. Usually you expect the food to be so so at a brewery but We were pleasantly surprised. We ordered the corn beef on a pretzel roll(a special) and their Cuban with mac & cheese. Both sandwiches were delicious, the pretzel more so than the Cuban. The mac & cheese was good but nothing special. We also got a pretzel with both mustard and cheese. Unless you love pretzels with cheese, just get the mustard. Overall, we loved our time here at Keegan. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area.

Love this place! The beers are great and they have bottomless peanuts. The atmosphere in this place is incredible. There’s a nice outdoor space if you want fresh air. I kind of love that fact that there’s no aTVs… it forces you to communicate with fellow patrons. Overall a very great beer drinking experience.

I love this place. Great beer, great service, and the best outdoor seating around. For peeps who want liquor they have it, and make great margaritas. Plus, Bear, one of the best dogs ever, is always there to great you.

Really like this place. Relaxing and cool vibe. I love the kitty cats just chillin around the place. Friendly and smiling staff. They have board games too. It’s just an interesting place. Lots of parking. Can’t wait to go back. I had the stouts which were delicious.

Really great vibes here. But I have to say, the service is terrible if you’re ordering food. Could do better. It would be nice if the bartender came over to the table to grab your order. We had to write down what we wanted on a napkin & bring it up to her. It was not busy & coming from the service industry I understand that you have to hustle to make your money. If they had a better system down with the whole food process it would make this place great!

My first visit to Keegan Ales was for one of their $ 3 Mason Jar Thursdays. That’s an excellent deal, and I’m sorry the amount you get for $ 3 was too much for me to have a second beer and still drive home safely. Don’t tell them, but I’ll be just as much a fan paying full price. My Ale of choice was Joe Mama’s Milk, with its coffee infusion, and that has instantly become one of my favorites in the Hudson Valley. Everything about Keegan is casual, from the seating to the setting to the food — order at the bar, get your buzzer, pick it up in the other room. I would not say that the food is fancy, but it’s made really well. The herbed mayo on my grilled chicken sandwich was what made it special. Had I been hungrier, I would have tried the chili, or the bean and kale soup on their specials list. I understand they also do trivia on Tuesday nights. That’s another plus for Keegan. It’s a bit of a drive for me to get here, but I think it’s very much worth it.

Always a great stop when in Kingston. Great beers, staff and food! What more could you want? Music? Ok! They do a great job of that too! Even if you’re not really hungry, they have peanuts for free! Of course the sodium helps keep you thirsty, but that’s not a bad thing. The Bine Climber is my favorite for day drinking. Hurricane Kitty is great too, if you’re lucky you can catch Super Kitty! Enjoy!

It’s always good to spend a weekend at a brewery and we really enjoyed our afternoon here. We came here back in Oct 2015 with a Groupon deal and the beer is really quite good; the Mother’s Milk and Joe Mamma’s Milk are the standouts here and are two brews I would definitely buy again. The food is simple bar food(sandwiches and sides like mac and cheese), but it’s delicious and pairs great with the beer. It’s easy to get to from interstate 87 and definitely a place to visit if you’re around the Hudson Valley!

I wouldn’t call it a true Gastropub but it does have a nice vibe. Their most popular brews are the Hurricane Kitty IPA and Mother’s Milk Stout, though the sour they had the day I was there was great. I’ve been there twice now. It reminds me of the barn they dance in the movie Footloose. The one side looks like a barn but then you have the stills on the other side and that looks more like a brewing plant. They give peanuts and have a limited menu when it comes to eats. The food was really good. They offer live music weekly and that brings the place to life. The bartender was nice but slow. Food took a long time to come out but was worth the wait. Can beat the brew so it’s a place I’m sure I’ll see again. If it was closer I’d be going there for lunch once a week just to sit outside, very peaceful. Love the small town feeling.

This is a really cool place. I always enjoyed their beers, but is is always cool to go to the place where they are brewed. The brewery’s atmosphere totally represents the area it is in, kind of a hippy, down to earth, blue grass town. I enjoyed the free peanuts you can snack on. The whole place was full of empty peanut shells because you just throw them on the table. They also had a live band which was cool. The beer is pretty good, I really enjoyed the Joes Mama Milk, which was a nice stout with nice undertones of coffee. If I was a local I would totally hang out here. There was also a dog walking around, I always enjoy a dog friendly bar, what is better than beer and mans best friend!

I did not eat here, only stopped in to try the beers on my way home down the thruway. It is an interesting place. This seems like a great place for locals. Dogs are allowed inside and they host different events such has pairing. The beers were alright, nothing special. Would love a place like this closer to home, but not a place I will return to if I’m traveling through the the area again.

Great service, amazingly friendly bartender and locals, tasty beer and a free bucket of salty peanuts. What more can you ask for? So close to NYC but feels like you’re a world away. Sparse, barn like décor and a sad soulful singer with a guitar on the main stage. Made for a magical Summer night.

What can I say about this place other than… I Love It. The Joe’s Mama is one of the best things I have ever tasted! The staff is super friendly… and every time I have let there, I have made a new friend at the bar, or at least had great conversation! The food is good, I laugh at the people who complain about the food, it’s an awesome brewery that serves hot consistent good, you want fancy food go somewhere else… I drive 3 hrs to get a growler… it’s that good! The owner Tommy is extremely friendly… there is no drama here… just good times!

I absolutely love coming to Keegan Ales when I’m in the area! It’s a great spot with delicious beer and a welcoming atmosphere. If you’re a first timer, I highly recommend getting a flight to sample their selection. Their most popular brews are the Hurricane Kitty IPA and Mother’s Milk Stout, but they are all worth at least a try. The food here is yummy as well! The atmosphere is very laid back and casual. It’s mostly picnic bench seating or some seating at the bar. They have a stage set up for live music, but unfortunately I’ve never timed it right to come during a show. You can check out the event calendar on their website. Keegan Ales is really close to I-87 — so it makes a great stop driving back to the city from further north.

Laid back atmosphere with average beers at Keegan Ales. The location in Kingston’s stockade district is good. Their building is spacious with two large warehouse rooms. The main area near the bar is nicely decorated with holiday lights and paintings on the wall. The bartender was very friendly and we asked for her recommendation. We ordered their IPA which was very average. Not very flavorful and kind of watery. The price was good at $ 4 a pint though. There is also a nice outdoor area off the parking lot which is open during the warmer months.

Brooklyn vibe comes to random Kingsland, NY. Very cool craft beer joint with great service and artwork. I didn’t get to try the food, but damn the beer is great! Came on a day where they had kittens hanging out and wow dreams do come true. Kittens and craft beer??? Yes please.

It’s more than a brewery! It’s also a great meeting place. Talk about minimalist places, this meets that definition in the best possible way. Located in what at night time looks like an industrial/commercial area of the city, our GPS successfully delivered us to their parking lot. Upon entering through the doorway on the lit up wall with an Indian head painted mural, we heard someone in the open room with an old piano and a small platform stage say«hello!» We returned the greeting and turned to our left to enter another room where we spied some people sitting at a bar. The lighting was dim but we could see the approximately 12 bar stools were all occupied while a few high-tops and some picnic tables around the walls were mostly empty. Upon asking at the bar if food was available, the bartender asked if this was our first time here. She then explained to us newbies, as she handed me menus, that there was no table service and we could sit wherever we liked. We settled in on a high-top, noting that a couple at a table in front of us were playing backgammon. There was also a backgammon game and a maze game with little ball bearings on a window shelf next to our table. We decided to order a beer sampler, a Reuben($ 9), and a Pulled Pork($ 10) sandwich. As I went to the bar to place our order, a woman who was next to me asked where we were from and how we came upon this place. She seemed friendly enough and was looking to make us feel welcomed. When the beer sampler was put in front of me at the bar, both this woman and a woman on my other side offered to assist me in carrying to our table the sampler board with the six filled glasses, the card with the beer descriptions, and one of those vibrating buzzers to let you know when your food is ready for pickup. Very nice people. The beer sampler apparently is not a single fixed price. Three of the tastes were $ 1.85 each and the other three were $ 2.78 each($ 13.89 for the math challenged). Glasses were maybe 5 ounces each. Responding to the buzzer thing, our sandwiches were retrieved from the voice in the other room that said«hello» when we first entered. The Reuben was served on marble bread with our side choice of potato salad. My wife said it was really good. My Pulled Pork was messy with lots of meat served on a fresh Kaiser roll. I chose coleslaw as my side so I could put some of it on the sandwich, but the sandwich was so large I had to alternate tastes of each. The beers at Keegan Ale are all very good. Even their lightest beer, Old Capital(4% abv), had a good amount of flavor. Our favorite was Mother’s Milk(5% abv) followed by Joe Mama’s Milk(8% abv). Judging from the many posters on the walls, it looks like there are lots of events that they promote. This is a pretty cool place to stop if you are in the area.
