Scruff To Fluff

We’ve been regularly visiting Roxy at Scruff to Fluff, and my dog seems enjoying it there and he looks amazing after each bath or groom. Although we’ve moved to Bellevue, I still send him back here for the grooming, just because of the trust and connection he’s established with Roxy.

we have brought our dogs here several times. The first few times were great.
The last time we’d waiting a few weeks to get an appt. When they told me the dogs were ready, and when I went to get them, they were running around in the office with other dogs… my little dogs have never been around other dogs, other than each other. When I went to put them in their kennel for transport I noticed that one dog was not finished and had not even had her face trimmed at all!!! So I took one dog and had them finish up the other.
Today we had our dogs in again and were expecting them to be done at 4:00, but they called at 2:30 saying they were done and needed to be picked up as they were closing at 3:00?!
We got there in time, with our cash in hand (no checks or credit cards accepted) and the groomer said the dogs’ behavior was fine, but the owner/​manager said they were a ‘handful’??? (They are over 12 years old !) and then said it was $ 20 more than we had anticipated and questioned that we’d ever been in before.
The cut was fine but I don’t like surprise schedules or surprise fees.

I have been very pleased with the grooming my dog has received here and the customer service. Roxy was even kind enough to give me tips on how to maintain my dogs nails to save money between grooming’s. I have a 27 pound Shih Tzu mix dog who does not shed but requires regular haircuts. I appreciate how they always call me as soon as my mutt is done so I can pick him up right away. The price is significantly lower than the other groomers in the neighborhood quoted me. Don’t forget it’s cash only and gratuity is not included in the price.

I found this place off of Unilocal.I was desperate because we were heading out of town and my two-​month-​old Shih Tzu puppy couldn’t see because hair was covering his eyes at the bridge of his nose. It was early in the morning and they were already busy when I got there. First thing that impressed me was that the place did not smell like wet dog. Bubba was greeted With kisses as I didn’t even exist:) The woman was super warm and friendly and very professional. She took him back and had a guy, who was busy, pause to trim Bubba up. They were both very gentle and confident when it was obvious that Bubba was freaked out. They did a beautiful job and did not even charge me! Though I left a gratuity it seem like it wasn’t enough to show my appreciation. This Unilocal is for them; they were awesome!

Let me start off by saying that Scruff to Fluff still does an amazing job grooming our dogs. I’ve never had a complaint in that department. They also seem to find time to fit them in, so that’s also a plus.
The reason I’m updating the rating from five to three stars is because of another issue. I don’t like pricing to be a surprise, so when I’m quoted for $ 65 per dog for a basic groom, that’s all I’m expecting to pay. This is especially important when the grooming facility doesn’t accept credit cards because I have to take out the right amount of cash ahead of time (and yes, I always take enough out for tips). However, the last time I tried to make an appointment and asked for a price, I was told it would be $ 65 if they didn’t have to express glands, otherwise it would be $ 75.
I told her that we didn’t want their glands expressed, so the $ 65 basic groom should be fine. She told me she’d honor that, but if the dogs sprayed their glands later in the grooming session and they had not been expressed, she’d have to charge extra for additional bathing. She never clarified what the extra charge was, but my assumption is that because she was warning me, it would probably be more than the additional $ 10 to express the glands up front.
This is obviously frustrating to me. First, the reason we don’t have groomers express our dogs’ anal glands isn’t because we’re cheap. It’s because if they’re expressed incorrectly or too often, it can result in injury. If you’ve ever had this problem with your pet, like we have in the past, you know how horrible it is. This is why we only have our vet empty their anal glands (if it’s medically necessary). And since we no longer have their glands routinely expressed, we haven’t had a single problem with them since. Second, when I’ve made this request to other groomers to leave their glands alone, they’ve never once told me we could be charged more for additional bathing if needed.
This is so disappointing to me because I really want to continue to love this place. Like I said, they do a wonderful job grooming our dogs, but I’m just not willing to guess what price I’ll be charged for a basic groom.

Came back to this place after I had great experience with it first time. The second time was simply awful. I dropped my dog at 11 and picked him up at 5pm. He was the last one and he still wasn’t properly groomed (uneven patches left on his face all over). Originally they told me it’d take 3 hours, so I (being pregnant and waiting in a café outside!) stopped by at 2pm to find out he wasn’t done. No phone call, no nothing, just not done. They told me to come back at 5 and I did. He wasn’t done again and they again didn’t give me a call. Not coming back to this place.

First allow me to SAY — If ever having a bad experience at other groomers; THIS PLACE ENSURES YOUR LOVED ONE’S, WILL BE TAKEN GREAT CARE OF!

Yuck! First thing, you walk in there and it wreaks of cigarettes. There’s cigarettes all over the floor. Then they take my dog and drag her all the way back. No positive reinforcement or anything. All we got was a nail from and she was brought back to us with bloody paws and they didn’t say a word to us. Never will I take my dog back here!

Wonderful place! We will be returning for future groomings for sure! A little over a month ago we had adopted a wonderful little Shih Tzu who had some basic grooming done at the shelter (she came from a hoarder house that had 26 other shih tzus) & they had only groomed them enough to remove major mats & make them look presentable for adoption. Well our little Avery came to us with an eye injury (from her previous traumatic life) & was not able to get professionally groomed until the ulcer was healed & the vet cleared her for grooming. We got clearance on Tuesday & got her in today (Thursday) of the same week. We showed a picture of kinda what we wanted but understood that we may not get exactly that because of her fur’s choppy cut. (I also said no nails or ear cleaning since I can take care of those myself & she was cool with that). One thing that we really appreciated was that we got a call from them letting us know she had to cut Avery’s fur a bit shorter than the picture (although the face would be the same) since she had mats in her fur (ones she wouldn’t let me brush out of her fur!) & then we picked her up at the time we were told & we could not stop smiling she looked AMAZING!!! I am so happy with how it turned out! Especially since this is my first dog & I’ve never had to go through anything like this! Miss Avery will continue to be a client here at Scruff to Fluff to maintain her adorable new ‘do!
**Also, since Avery has vision loss in her left eye & is weary & nervous around other dogs & this place does not cage the dogs I mentioned my worries to them about all that & they said they would let her be in the little office area once she was all done so she would not be around the other dogs, which I appreciated so much! They really care about everyone’s pets!

Love this place! Was taking my dog for a walk and noticed her nails were getting pretty long and uncomfortable. Walked into Scruff to Fluff and they took her immediately. Super nice staff, quick service and great price! I’ll keep on going here for all my pet grooming needs.

I’ve taken my dog to quite a few groomers around town and have finished my search here. The groomers are caring folks and my dog looks great every time. The most important part is that my dog loves going there! He runs in! Every other pace I’ve been I’ve had to drag him in. Literally.
He gets to walk around in there and he’s not kenneled up.
I can’t recommend it more.

Moved here from San Diego last year. We have now taken our Shitzu Lucy here three times now. We could not be more happier. Excellent service all the way around and they do a great job.

My poor kitty recently had fleas and after trying everything to get rid of them, I made an appt here for a flea dip so I could bomb my house. The day of it snowed and I wasn’t able to make the appt, when I called to reschedule, they made room for me the very next day because of my situation. They did a great job with my kitty and made her and I both feel better!

This is the first time that I have owned a breed (Havanese) that requires regular grooming so I needed some education which Roxy and her team were happy to provide. For example, two of the things that I wanted but did not know how to ask for were the «face and feet» package and the «hygiene cut».
Hair grows between the Havanese footpads and it needs to be tended to for the dog’s comfort and cleanliness. The Havenese hair grows down over up pup’s face and there are three general options; leave it, put it up in a tie, or cut the bangs. I was given all three options and chose to have Rory’s bangs cut.
The Havanese has a lot of hair «in the back» and it can be messy if there’s an issue such as might occur during a food change with a puppy. This happened to us, resulting in the dreaded Havanese «butt bath». When I explained this to Roxy and the other groomer they suggested the «hygiene cut» which would help alleviate butt baths in the future.
As I mentioned earlier, this is my first time owning a breed requiring professional grooming and I am myself not really qualified to judge quality except that it all looked good to me. I did post Rory’s post-​grooming photos on a Havenese forum of which I am a member and the senior members all said that the groomer did an excellent job. The senior members on the forum do not mince words when they see improper Havanese grooming, but the clear consensus was that Scruff to Fluff had done excellent work.
Additionally, I can say that the customer service was excellent, as was the timeliness in which the grooming was done. I dropped Rory off, walked over to George’s for breakfast, and the shop called me to tell me I could pick her up just as I was paying my check at George’s.

I bring my Cockapoo Bailey and Golden Retriever Maya to Scruff & Fluff. They do a great job, always find time for them on the schedule, and are very speedy about getting the dogs in and out. Very friendly staff and I love that they don’t cage the dogs. Each trip for the dogs is like a haircut + puppy playdate and they love it!

My first time bringing my Shitzu. I think the greeter/​groomers name was Roxy. She made my little guy feel much better about his hair appt. he was done in a couple of hours instead of all day AND he was not in a cage when I picked him up! My dog and a another dog greeted me when I came in. It was awesome. My dogs cut is perfect, he had to get shaved. I will diffently be back! Price was great too

Debby takes very good care of my dog whenever we come in. I’m very happy with the service we get here.

I get my dog’s nails cut here. They were extremely careful about the whole thing and I was able to watch it from start to end. Prices are decent.

I found this place last fall when I moved to the area. I found tons of places that groomed dogs, but this place also groomed cats. The lady, who I think is the owner, is always friendly and welcoming. She obviously loves animals and treats every animal that comes in like long lost family.
Price are normal and the place is nothing fancy. They do a good job of grooming pets and also have great hours. They are open Saturday and Sunday. I have called a few times at the last minute and they squeezed me in.
My dog is a rescue so she is really skittish. She doesn’t mind being here at all. My cat, who thinks he is dog, stays calm and relaxed and comes out looking so handsome. Try a lion cut on your long hair cat! Cut and so much cooler for them.
