Not Gourmet Food, but a Fun Place with Excellent Happy Hours. Good Salads and Sandwiches and Beverages.

We absolutely love this place. We usually go for their awesome happy hour but stopped by for lunch recently. The food was so fresh and delicious. The tuna bites appetizer was perfectly cooked. I had a grilled tuna sandwich with mango salsa– yum! Ask about their drink specials. The only think that they could improve is the service– just could be a little friendlier and refill drinks a little sooner.

Ok… read about dollar tacos and decided to give it a go… so lets get this out there… the hard shell taco was good. I’m not too into soft tacos but they were both good size and not skimpy. Now, i do Mahi sandwiches. Its my thing… this one is in my top three. The thing that made this memorable was the cajun seasoning and Jalapeño coctail sauce. That stuff made a delicious mess! Dont worry though there are more than enough fries to clean it all up. The Chicken sandwich was«the best I’ve ever had» from another in my party, and the quesidilla was cheesy and packed with chicken. The service was smiling and on point, and lit up when we asked how the surfing was. This is a casual place to enjoy a good meal! Highly recommend.

Stopped for a December lunch after a very windy morning fishing and catching NOTHING! The chili is not good chili. Seems like it came out of can? The Moe burger were nothing special especially given the price. Nothing special about this place. By the way the calamari app. Was terrible!

There are literally tons of restaurants in the Outer Banks, so when someone recommends a place as their favorite place, it’s worth a stop. In comes Hurricane Mo’s. The recommended dish was actually a bowl of soup, the She Crab Soup. It’s like a lobster bisque but with crab. and it was very tasty! I ended up getting the lunch special because I wanted some bread to go with my soup and the only way I could get the garlic bread was by getting the lunch special which included a salad. I asked for caesar and they don’t really do caesar there but I got caesar dressing. The garlic bread dunked in that soup though… simply wonderful. I can see why they get so busy. I would suggest giving it a try.

The food«Happy Hour» is phenomenal! Great atmosphere, and the prices are fantastic! If I’m down for a week in the Outer Banks, I visit this place four or five times!

We made a quick lunch stop here and the place was packed. I got a plate of fried fish and chips. The fish was in smaller pieces than most of the other restaurants in the Outer Banks that we went to do, but it was tasty. The fries were really crisp and yummy. My husband got an Oyster Po’boy which he was pretty happy with, except that the slaw that came with it was a little too sweet. The fries were among the best I have had. Despite how crowded the place was service was fast, and polite. We would be happy to go back.

This is the one place we make repeated visits to while we’re on vacation. Happy hour shrimp/wings are the best. Homemade desserts are worth the visit again in the evening as well!

Stopped in for lunch, I’ve been looking for oyster po boy sandwiches. This was good, with a bed of great cole slaw but it makes the bottom bun soggy. I took off the top of the bun, too much bread for me. Oysters were OK but a bit small and therefore not enough for such a big bun. Fantastic remoulade though, when they say it’s japalano remoulade they aren’t kidding. Tip: get the remoulade on the side like they do for to-go boxes and dip your fries in it. Great bartender Jayne serving a bloody mary with enough kick to make your morning better. All the service was great and bumped the star rating. Lots of good bar space, but outstanding outdoor seating also with a bar and low music, reggae was playing the day I was there.

tried this for the first time we both got the lunch specials at $ 5.99 so the price was kind to our pockets. we got the fried chicken potato salad and I think it came with a bread of some sort we also got shrimp salad potato salad and cucumber with some sort of sauce on them and the she crab soup. everything was good it was way to much food. I honed in on the cucumbers for some reason. I think the potato salad should have been cooked a tad more the taters resisted way to much but all in all good deal good food we would go back

Fresh seafood for a decent dinner here. Maybe you’ll get a peek at the feral cats that hang out it the yard; there’s a feral cat fund you can drop a few bucks in, too, to help keep them fed! The AC is somewhat lacking inside, but the Starry Night thened paint job makes up. 20 minute wait at 5pm on Sunday but ample seating at the bar. He got the fried popcorn shrimp and I opted for the crab cake sandwich, sans bun. The«popcorn» shrimp are a bit big for their name, but are piled high and hand breaded before being lightly fried. In addition to cocktail sauce, the place also offers jalapeño tarter to go alongside. My crab cake was on par with others; good meat to filler ratio but a bit heavy on the fry. Speaking of fries, both dishes are served with some, but we found them to be bland and undercooked. The key lime pie we took to go, and it too was a bit bland– cheesecake-like. The best dish we had was probably the she crab soup. Great texture and packed with meat! This spot is decent for dinner and we will likely return.

Been here about five times now. It’s always a must stop when in OBX. They have 10c shrimp, 25c wings and $ 1.00 tacos. We had a group of 15 and took down maybe 150 shrimp, 150 wings and 50 tacos. Amazing… They do nickel and dime a bit but it’s not awful. For example you pay for blue cheese or ranch as well as a glass of water. You also can’t get to go bags. Makes sense given the prices.

Great happy hour, we got the 25 cent wings and were able to order from the outdoor deck bar. We each grabbed a beer and the bartenders were friendly and working very hard up on the roof deck! The wings had a great spicy sauce and went well with the blue cheese dressing. It is s great casual atmosphere close to the beach with good happy hour specials. A great way to end your beach day!

Happy hour 3−5pm. We had $.15 shrimp… We waited 35 minutes in a Monday evening but it was worth the wait. Our server was pleasant and quick. My toddler loved the calamari, my mother loved the she crab soup and I thoroughly enjoyed the seared platter of oysters, scallops, clams, and crab cake. I try to come here whenever I come to the OBX. Awesome food and service!

Happy hour is a must. Located steps from the beach, Hurricane Moe’s is a very nice place to grab a cold beer, enjoy great HH specials, and enjoy some fresh seafood. Pan seared seafood platter and shrimp quesadila were excellent.

We have a house in duck and tried Hurricane Moes for first time tonight. Very disappointed for a few reasons. 1) wing sauce was horrible 2) Cesaer salad was inedible 3) crab cake had a very strange flavor and couldn’t finish. On the bright side the fried flounder my wife had was fantastic.

Phenomenal happy hour from 3−5pm. Wings, shrimp, and tacos. All were very cheap. Upstairs bar had live music and views of the ocean

Cool atmosphere. I would recommend siting outside on the patio. My boyfriend and I stopped by during Happy Hour(3 – 5) and it was worth it. They have $ 0.35 wings $ 0.14 shrimp and $ 1 tacos. The wings were really good! Get them tossed in the spicy sauce. The tacos were nothing to write home about. Not much flavor, especially if you don’t add any additional toppings(which were an extra charge.) I would come back here to try other menu items.

Hurricane mos has it going on! This place rocks! The ambiance here is fantastic! It’s like Hawaii meets a hurricane all rolled into one all throughout the place! Very very cool! Happy hour is bad ass killer! Wow! I can’t believe how quickly this places fills up! $ 1.00 tacos .15 cent shrimp and .35 cent wings being I’m from Buffalo NY and I skipped on the wings. However another member in my group tried these and they where very small and not spicy at all but coming from wing capital of the world it’s not a fair fight at all. We did did load up on the tacos, had some happy hour brews and kicked back and enjoyed ourselves a whole hell of alot here! Yes! This really is the best happy hour on the banks and a must stop if your travelling on down to them! Just remember 3:00pm kicks off happy hour! Be there then or expect to wait for a table! Hell yeah I’m a fan! Heck yeah I’m coming back!
