Evan did an amazing job on full blonde highlights in my hair. I was really impressed by the great service for the price! I will be back.

I wasn’t thrilled, I had a Groupon booked with Evan. He told me you can’t color pre lightened hair. You have to use a filler, I get it. I didn’t push him because you def don’t want someone to do something they aren’t comfortable with. My cut was not good either, I blamed myself for having bad hair until I got another cut and now my hair is fine. I think Evan was super sweet, but really green. Once he gets some more experience he will probably be good, but right now he just isn’t very confident.

I scheduled an appointment 5 days ago to get a massage today. I arrived early in hopes of maybe getting started early. Hours on window indicate they open at 9 am. At 9:10 am they were not open. First employee arrived at 10:05 am to open the business. I meet him and he finds my appointment time in the book. He called the massage therapist at home. She forgot to write down my appointment. He hands me the phone and apologizes and asks if I was using a Groupon. One star rates as really bad service but if you get no service how does that rate?

I have waited a while to gather my thoughts before writing this review. I feel like I am going to come across as mean and that is not my intent. I went to Ace of Spades because I had a groupon. The Groupon was for cut, deep conditioning & blow dry. The hair cut and blow dry were adequate. Really nothing special. The deep conditioning portion was completely bypassed. They never did it. That’s all I can say. The issue is the shop. It has an identity crisis. It wants to be a Salon, Spa, and Men’s Barbershop. It is NOSPA. I would never consider any spa services here. I would barely consider it a salon. It has two stations for doing hair and the rest of the space is for barbering. Even the way the place is decorated with chairs lined up for customers, a vending machine, and overstuffed vinyl sofas, screams barbershop. The woman who answered the phone when I made a reservation was barely understandable. Somehow I got an appointment. While there, they were quite busy with barbershop customers. It’s a certain male clientele that doesn’t work well with a «Salon/Spa» experience. I guess I mean I don’t appreciate all the slang/foul language, sports, knowing peoples personal business on their cell phones, or the cattle call atmosphere, etc. The barbers clients seemed to be happy with their cuts. So what I am trying to say is, go if you need barber assistance.

I found Salena through a Groupon deal. She did an awesome job with my highlights and cut. She is really nice, listens well and puts a lot of care into the work she does. One of the best highlights I have gotten… it looks really pretty. I love it! :)

Today was my first experience at Ace of Spades and I went in for full highlights and a haircut. Salena did my hair and she did a great job. She was extremely nice, very professional and she knew what she was doing. I hadn’t had good highlights in a long time and she worked some magic on my hair. I definitely recommend her services to everyone!

Learned about this salon when their cosmetologist, Salena, left a flier and a business card with her number at my door. I contacted her via text to inquire about setting up an appointment to have red & blonde highlights done, & it just got better from there. She’s very sweet & did an amazing job on my hair! I was so impressed with the salon & with Salena’s work that I referred my husband to her to have his super long hair cut off. She did awesome on his hair, too, and we’re donating his hair to Locks of Love. Everyone there is very nice and it’s a comfortable setting. I recommend everyone who asks about my highlights to her!!!
