I think some reviews must be friends. The owner Susan is just not a good business or customer service person. I’m surprised they are still in business especially with a good boba place up the street, 5.2 Patio(I don’t work there). I’ve gone here three times, none good. Always some excuse like not having a flavor in stock. Or we only have two large cups left, and she wouldn’t make a large and put in two medium cups?! even if they pay for the cups the extra 11 cents is worth keeping a customer. this is the stuff they just don’t get and that’s another reason they are empty every time I go in. Open at 11 but boba ‘machine’ not working so no boba til 1130(uhh boiling water not working?) the boba is very bland, go to real place for good tasting boba like Tea Station(I don’t work there either). groupon or living social is a waste here as well as others have complained. those companies are hurting their own rep. i’m not writing this as a mad customer, i’m writing to save others the waste of time and money, hit another place. they don’t even have a taro smoothie, the biggest seller at noodle world and tapioca express. duh update– guess what, they are now closed, wooow i’m soo suprised.

I bought a 10 drink deal from livingsocial. I wasn’t quite sure if I wanted to buy the deal since it’s a 30 mile drive for me, a good 45 minutes away. I checked out the reviews and it seemed pretty good so I figured, sure. why not. The first drink I got from there was decent, I liked the flavor but wasn’t sure about the boba balls. I’ve had better. I tried to go again yesterday after work. I arrived there around 5:30pm. Oh I’m sorry, it says you’re opened until 8pm Monday-Thursday. I didn’t know it was OK to close at 5:30pm because you ran out of boba! I didn’t even want their balls. If I recall, there are other drinks on the menu. I can deal without the boba. Waste of my time and gas. Ridiculous and unprofessional business.

I tried Green tea Frappé. $ 3.5 Great taste. Nicely blended. Going to try Thai tea Frappé soon!

The girl who works there is always nice and polite when I walk in, giving me suggestions for new flavors to try. The fruity drinks actually taste like the fruit you ordered. The boba is soft and squishy. And I am in love with the taro milk! While they don’t have as many flavors as some boba places, she said they are planning to add a few more milk teas? =) Lollicup can suck it! Thank you Groupon for letting me know this place was so close to home. Only gripe: the parking is weird and I have missed the place a couple times going there since it is kind of weirdly situated.

Yup. It’s official. I gave this place 2 more tries to re-evaluate my review and yes it tastes like crap. I wish I could get a refund from Groupon…

I went on a Tuesday at around 3PM, hoping to get some work done for my tutoring, found this place earlier in the week but found out that they are in fact closed on Sundays. Went in and only noticed one table and a set of chairs and thought, «that’s it?» I asked if there were more tables and the girl pointed to her right and I saw the«upstairs» area and just slapped myself in the face. Decided that I wasn’t too hungry, I just got a random coffee drink, Java Chip and took my time drinking. It’s a little better than Starbucks, but not by much. The only reason why I’m docking points down is that the girl kind of gave me a weird attitude problem; yes, I didn’t know that there was a upstairs patio because I only noticed a table to my left; yes, I didn’t know how to punch in the Wi-Fi password, because it was a series of random letters, numbers and symbols, and yes, I was dancing to Run Devil Run, the guided Ke$ha version, so is there a problem with that? I would come back, to try the shaved iced, since it seems like a lot of people rave about it, but at the same time, I could go somewhere else where the parking isn’t too weird that I could easily ram my rear bumper into the cement wall.

They deserve alot of credit. There fruit is fresh. The boba is delicious. Their prices are decent. Seating is more than ample and private up the small staircase behind the store. Parking is odd but its worth it compared to the other joint I went to the other day not too far away. Love the shaved ice here. You can’t go wrong with mochi /mua-gee rice flour balls that are squishy and chewy in shaved ice. Ice cream on top gives it extra creamy zest.

My boyfriend and I stopped by Café Hazelnut for a light lunch. Devin R ordered their peach smoothie, for $ 3.99 with complementary boba. The boba tasted perfectly chewy and fresh. The mix tart froyo, milk, ice, and peach flavor for the smoothie. It came out refreshingly peachy and sealed with the sealed AZN plastic lid, it tasted as good as anything you would try at Cha for Tea. Better than Lee’s boba drinks, yet not as fresh as Lollicup. The tart froyo was light, tasty, and very tart, I got it with yogurt chips, blueberries, and mini gummi bears. I also ordered a small organic coffee, a steal at 99 cents! They didn’t have Splenda and they had out powdered milk! I was surprised that something with Café in the title wouldn’t have real milk. However, the lady behind the counter graciously got me some whole milk. I would characterize the décor/feeling of Café Hazelnut as the modern Asian aesthetic(a la Pinkberry) blended with coffee house urban chic. Some touches were fun, like brick wall wallpaper paneling on one wall. There’s a spacious loft with tables and chairs, the walls are a cool pale pink. They had impressive samples of latte art, if I go back I’ll try that. Overall, a really good value and you’ll be impressed by the range on the menu.
