Brunch with a view! Everything in the menu looked great. I ordered the French toast and my friend got some omelette(she said she didn’t care for the flavors and sauces used). My French toast was great — not overbearingly sweet, which is rare these days for sweet brunch dishes. The butter and fruit were delicious pairings. The customer service was also very nice. Would recommend to anyone looking to brunch by la jolla!

The food here is really tasty and the ambiance is cute. The place gets packed but the wait is worth it. Try the french toast!

Hey, I liked Codys! There are about 6 tables that offer the lovely view and the rest are up the street a bit or around the side of the building in the shade. It’s a converted quaint house and the inside seating looked cozy. But, you’re really eating here for the view right? Well, we were hungry and I got the biscuits and gravy. I sent it back since the biscuits were rock hard and got an omelete instead. Nothing was seasoned. Not even the potatoes and I really liked that. My partner did not. They do bring you some table salt(or sea salt?) and I enjoyed seasoning to my liking. The waiters are hunky guys so have fun with that(I did) and the walk to the beach is easy. I’ll be back I’m sure of it.

I don’t want to be that guy, but this place really disappointed me. The food was great! And that was expected from here, great reviews, beautiful location, absolutely fantastic ambiance, but the service… The service was atrocious. If I was giving this place an out of ten service, I’d give it a 3⁄10. I walked in and there was no one to seat me for the longest time. After that, it took the longest time to get served. I had to stand up and ask for water. It was so bad I don’t even understand. the only reason im giving this place any stars is because the food and ambiance. The service straight killed it. In a bad way. I’ll come back and try again, but until then, I’m not a happy camper

Came here for brunch with a few friends. I ordered the lobster sandwich I misread the price but it was SO good!!! The service is also great. The only downside they don’t have a full bar so no bloody mary’s. They do have wine and mimosas though. I think I got the pomegranate one and it was delicious. It’s a great location and it’s always fun to people watch. The vibe is great and then after we got to visit the seals. What was a special treat was the great weather. There can be a wait depending on the size of your party but it is so worth it. Would definitely come again!

I know, I need to stop giving five stars but it’s not my fault I keep running into delicious spots that wow me. Cody’s is posted by the beach and is styled like a beach house. It’s very dainty and cute. When we were done with our breakfast we walked down the shore and seal watched on the beach. The wait was no more than 10 min and the food timed out well. My friend and I ordered the crab cakes eggs Benedict, maple granola, and side of bacon and sausage. The Amount of food was perfect and we left with extra. Our tab was 42 dollars before taxes. It’d give it a $$ on Unilocal for breakfast.

I have been here for at least 4 – 5 times for brunch and I found myself always ALWAYS ordering their chicken pesto sandwich with fries as if I have never tried it before… Then when I go home and checked out my pictures… I realized I’m always posing in front of the same dish!!! I really liked it though!!! It is always the first dish that catch my attention when I read the menu. I like to sit outside for people watching and sometimes you can even see the view of the ocean depending on which table you got(mostly you have to be taller than my height, I have to stand up to see the ocean)! I haven’t been back for awhile, but they used to have this sign outside that says«voted the best restaurant in 201X…» I always laughed and asked who are doing these voting??? I really like them and when people ask for recommendations by La Jolla Cove, I usually suggest this little cute spot! ;)

After a long walk we were starving and desperately searching out the perfect breakfast. All of a sudden our ears we’re greeted with the sounds of energetic conversations and forks clanging on plates. We followed the noise and turned the corner and there was cody’s, with an outside deck overlooking the water. The menu looked fantastic and we sat down. The service was fast and friendly. We started with some champagne cocktails and moved on to the granola for a snack. All were great. For our main dishes I had the crab cake Benny and my wife had the strawberry blueberry pancakes. My crab cakes had an awesome mix of textures and flavors. The potatoes it was served on were light and fluffy but with an earthy taste from having the skins on. Overall this is an awesome place for a meal in la jolla.

I have fond memories of Cody’s…when my wife and I were going to school and living in Mission Valley, we would, on very special occasions, trek out to Cody’s and take in what they had to offer via their food and views. I dare say, they have the best views out of almost any restaurant I have eaten at in San Diego. One of my special treats In which I’m occasionally allowed to indulge in is heading down here on a Saturday or Sunday morning and grabbing a table outside for a late breakfast. There’s something restoring about La Jolla that seems to put you back on any track that you may have fallen off of. To sit at one of these tables and drink in the views and general atmosphere is just generally good for your soul. The food is quality too. Their French toast has always remained consistent, as has their fish and chips. If you like, grab a side of their grits. This is the first place I have ever had them, and to be honest, it used to be creamier and less salty… hopefully they can remedy that… Last time I was there, I had the farmers market omelette and it was pretty fantastic. If you have already visited Cody’s, none of this is news to you. If you haven’t, then it’s time to treat yourself.

Went here the other day for lunch after checking out the seals at the cove, an easy walk from there. This place was adorable. We sat outside, service was fast, friendly. I ended up ordering the veggie burger(added cheese) and it was really good! It came with fries. We decided to have dessert after seeing someone else have it delivered to the table. Wow– the chocolate panna cotta was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend this place. When I’m back in La Jolla I would definitely re-visit!

Great place to go for brunch and drinks by the beach! The restaurant itself is a bit on the tight side, cause it’s located on the corner of a street and corner of multiple connected buildings/businesses. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. We got a table outside and it was very nice. Our server was quick and attentive. Some of the food items are a little bit pricier, because it’s la jolla. As much as I wanted to order a lobster roll, I would never pay $ 26 for one. That’s too expensive for San Diegans. Drinks: Pomegranate Mimosa $ 8.50 Very strong pomegranate flavor. Delicious. Ginger Peach Spritzer $ 8.50 Tasted more ginger than peach but it was still refreshing. It was also nice that it came with a beautiful piece of mint and even ginger candy. Crab Cake Benedict with Potatoes $ 17.00 Delicous! A good amount of crab meat with the perfect eggs. The biscuit bread was very difficult to cut, but I guess its because it’s crispier. Potatoes were yummy as well, they were like lightly smashed potatoes. Their unique habanero hot sauce was good with this dish as well, and surprisingly not too spicy at all, but still made my nose water lmao. Great flavors. French Toast with Strawberries and Walnuts $ 13.00 Delicious! The french toast was a perfect texture. The butter gave it amazing extra flavor and the syrup wasn’t too sweet. The strawberries were fresh and the walnuts is a nice extra slight crunch. Definitely recommend it. Overall, food was great, drinks were good, and nice little spot to eat by the beach.

Was around the La Jolla Cove area on an early Sunday morning and came to Cody’s looking for some food to start the day. They open for breakfast and lunch every day at 8 am and have great seating that overlooks Girad Ave. in downtown La Jolla. Inside the restaurant they have a dining area with tables and an open layout allowing for larger parties. They have a small simple menu providing a bit of early morning options along with later afternoon stuff like sandwiches, salads, and appetizers. Their drink options include juices, espresso drinks and their own Kona blend of coffee which is actually pretty good. The awesome French toast( ) here was one of the best I’ve ever had before. Three thick slices of fresh challah bread from local bakery Bread&Cie grilled and covered in small bits of walnuts. The honey marscapone butter was served on the side and tasted great when melted ontop. The griddled parts of the bread were firm and crispy but once you bit into it you get the soft sweet taste of cinnamon and sugar. The crunchy walnuts on top added great texture to it by giving it a crunch. I personally don’t really care for strawberries, so I removed them but my friend who enjoyed them said they were fresh. The toast was sweet enough for me without having to add too much syrup to it, but like everything else here the syrup was the real stuff none of that log cabin non sense. My friend ordered one of their pear salads( ) which came with leafy greens, candied pecans, champagne dressing and she added avocado for extra. The salad was okay, nothing special in her opinion though. Pretty expensive for ten dollars though. The service at Cody’s was remarkable; our waiter was super nice and was always on top of refilling our drinks. He made suggestions to the menu and had no issues at making our order correct. While the service, atmosphere and food quality is top notch at Cody’s you’ll find their prices are a bit steep. But if you’re coming to La Jolla for a cheap meal, you are looking in the wrong place. I’d come back here to get their French toast again, but the rest of the menu really didn’t interest me much. Their menu could definitely use a bit more diversity for breakfast options.

This place was pretty good. We had one of the best seats there I thought. It was outside and you had a view of the ocean(which is why I gave it four stars instead of three-gotta love a good view!). That is what I really enjoyed. This place is popular so if you don’t want to wait I would suggest getting there as soon as they open. We only have to wait around 20 minutes which isn’t bad. The service was good as well. They leave a bottle of water on everyone’s table so they have access to water which I found smart. That way they didn’t need to worry about filling everyone’s water glasses constantly. I had the french toast. I enjoyed it. It had a honey butter that was very tasty. It also had berries on top so I used that as flavoring instead of trying to use too much syrup. They also have non-dessert as breakfast options if you’re looking for something more substantial. Overall, a good meal.

Delicious place to grab some breakfast! This place fills up fast and luckily our hotel was right around the corner, but previous days before I ate here and walked by, there was a line outside at 9am already(they open at 8am). So early on Easter Sunday I walked down at 8:30a and the place was already packed, but there was no wait for a party of 2. We ordered the bacon and cheese omelet, added spinach and got it with potatoes. This omelet was huge and comes with guacamole on top! Delicious! Also ordered the blueberry pancakes, which is a heavy portion because the pancakes are thick and come with strawberry’s on top and butter and syrup on the side. To drink We got the blackberry spritzer. This drink comes in a large mug and tasted delicious. Good for the price, and was a nice refreshing drink. Get here early because they do not take reservations and a top is to sit around the corner of the restaurant, because on a clear day you can see the ocean and palm trees in the distance. Would definitely come back!

Came here this morning to meet a friend for brunch since we both had the day off. PROS: — the view, see photo! It was such a beautiful day out and we got prime seating outside after a 15 minute wait. — the food! HIGHLY recommend the crab Benedict and the French toast — both were recommended by our server and he did not fail us. CONS: — the parking! Not necessarily the restaurant’s fault and it doesn’t help that we’re in spring break season. Had to pay $ 12 at a parking garage because there was no street parking unless we were to stalk people with only the potential of leaving. — the blackberry spritzer I had — pretty mediocre in taste and alcohol content, lol. Overall, I would still come back for the pros, will maybe über next time for the same cost of parking(insert side glare emoji here).

We wanted a nice place for a party of 8 for brunch on a Saturday. The good reviews brought us here. The parking situation was a little stressful. But after you finally find a spot you get over the annoyance it was to find a spot, because of the breath taking beauty you are surrounded by in La Jolla. The hostess quoted us 45 minute wait and we waited 30 minutes. Which we didn’t mind because it was just fine chatting out front of this gorgeous restaurant. We had a beautiful table outside, it was pretty awesome. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food was nothing spectacular. The presentation was beautiful, but the taste was not what I expected. It was pretty plain and needed more seasoning. My kid’s chicken strips were quite over cooked. That was disappointing. But because the experience was great besides a few flaws I give Cody’s a solid 4 stars.

Came here on a Friday morning with a group of 5 and fortunately, their was no wait. First off, upon entering, the hostess who seated us seemed to be having a pretty bad day for not really doing much, I’d hate to see how she is when this place gets packed. Although, the service from the waiter was better as he was friendly, but he kept trying to upsell us items on the menu. He somehow tricked my friend into getting a fruit cup($ 4. quite pricey for a small serving of fruit) that he really didn’t even eat by making him think it came with his order. Also, right after we finished ordering, while we were eating, and after we were done eating(and still had food on our plates), he kept trying to convince us to get the french toast. I understand trying to upsell, but this was a bit much considering how expensive everything is and how we couldn’t even finish our own individual plates. The décor of the place is cute and overlooks La Jolla Cove/Shores. There’s mostly outdoor seating so beware coming here on a cold, windy day. The food was average and a bit pricey. Not too sure about paying around $ 20 for individual entrees. For our meals, we got: Veggie Hash(average, can’t really mess up potatoes and veggies), Bacon and Cheddar Omelette with potato hash and grits(friend said it was average) + the fruit cup that he thought came with his meal, Chicken & Biscuits(friends said the chicken portioning was low and sad compared to the biscuit portioning but was overall decent), and the Chopped Vegetable Salad with Salmon(it was okay. not really worth the ~$ 20 though). Overall, food was edible, but not delicious and didn’t really stand out especially not for the priceyness. Parking situation is tough because this place is located smack dab in the middle of downtown La Jolla so be prepared to scavenge for parking, especially on busy hours and weekends.

One of the cutest places to come to brunch for in San Diego! Came here on a friday morning with two of my girlfriends & there was no wait! W-A-H-O-O-O-O-O! The host was somewhat unfriendly & when we asked to tables because our table was shaky(literally the plates were shifting towards the ground), she answered us curtly. We had to request again to shift the table, but besides her — the overall service was good! We decided to go family style & order different plates to try & taste: 1) Chicken & Biscuits — +4.5/5 We all voted that this was the best dish! The gravy wasn’t too heavy & the chicken wasn’t too heavily battered, giving it an overall awesome taste. 2) Crab Cake Benedict +3.5/5 Probably one of the better benedicts I’ve had in SD; the sauce was yummy & not too heavy too! Avocado is always a plus for me too. ;) 3) French toast +3.5/5 Must-get if you have a sweet tooth! The toast wasn’t too soggy or too hard; twas the perfect texture. Overall, an awesome place to go on a date or with your friends(= Happy brunching!

My girlfriend & I went here on Monday morning, sat in the patio, & had a gorgeous view of La Jolla Cove! The food was excellent & our server was great, & it did not hurt that he was pleasing to the eyes lol. Traditional Eggs Benedict, served with ½ griddles potatoes & ½ stone ground grits — I substituted the Canadian bacon for applewood smoked bacon & it was yummy, crispy just the way I like it! Eggs Benedict was perfect & the hollandaise sauce was creamy. I could not decide on the potatoes or the grits & I was excited to know that I could do ½ & ½. Do not hold your breath on the grits, it was not good! It lacked flavor & water. Parking was horrible because the restaurant is located close to the beach. There are paid parking garages/lots available. I would definitely plan accordingly if coming on a weekend!

I came here with my boyfriend’s family and I thought it was a great spot! It overlooked the ocean and served some mean brunch. I got the crab cake benedict and it was delicious! The crab cake had large pieces of crab and actually tasted like crab. The poached egg wasn’t as runny as I usually like it but it was still great. Loved the service here! The staff was so friendly! My boyfriend got the french toast and it was good. I’m not a big french toast fan, but he really liked it. I think it was a little heavy for my taste. I really liked this place. It’s not the best eggs benedict I’ve ever had(I’m very picky about my eggs benedict) but it was still very good. This place is 100% insta-worthy. I loved the view and I loved the staff. Great brunch spot!
