Tried this place about a week ago and myyy was it a lot more than I expected. The place is really small with only a table to sit so it’s better to order to go. The chicken was so tender and fresh and their steak-cut fries are great! Will definitely be visiting them again! :)

This place was awesome. It’s a partner of Donahos in Pomona. Same recipe and same combos as them. I will for sure be coming back here. The chicken was fresh and juicy. The biscuit was nice and buttery. Even though we came close to closing time but they where friendly and the food was great.

Best spot to get your Danahoos fix without the commute to Pomona. Kind of hard to find if you don’t have your eyes peeled for it. Not really a spot to dine in being as it’s so small but all in all good food and service.

Their chicken is delicious, nice and crispy. Their rolls are soooo good. They have good fries as well and it all pairs so well with their sauces. Their buffalo sauce is my overall favorite. I really enjoy their milk tea and other beverages while waiting.

My work got some fried chicken for us from here and they were delicious. They are the best!!! Perfectly cooked, perfect batter and french fries are to die for! Can’t wait to go myself and try their famous chicken tenders and their milk drinks. Highly recommended!!!

Parking here sucks. Very cramped space inside, more so if people eat here. 2 tables with 2 chairs each. If you take to go it’s your best bet. The chicken tenders are amazing with chicken sauce. The roll is bland. The fries good and other sides mediocre.

Dalena: As a fried chicken croissant(connoisseur), I really liked the chicken. It was well seasoned and not very greasy because I didn’t even drink a second cup of water. The rolls were too big, and I was intimidated. I didn’t want to look in its eyes. Each roll was actually two pieces stuck-glued together by butter. We got slaw and it was runny and it was topped with four yellow raisins. It was pretty easy to eat around the raisins, but they felt like land mines. Anyways, the portion size. I had to take two slash four breads home and two pieces of chicken. It was in the fridge overnight and then I put it in my car for a whole day. Then I went home and it sat on the counter overnight. The next day, I went to church. Then I remembered the fried chicken and decided to have it for dinner. It had a really rough time and had gone through a lot, the poor thing. I’m tearing up. Anyways, it was all slimey and smelled like a lemon. So I know it didn’t have any preservatives in it. That’s cool. The dinner rolls survived. Elijah: I don’t know what my companion is talking about. Now that I’ve had time to think about it, the chicken is dope: freshly golden brown, well seasoned, but the rolls… the rolls were the real stars in my eyes. Right about now, my babe is rolling her eyes super hard, but sue me, those pre-buttered rolls(buttered on the inside!!! I mean, daaaaaaang) were delicious. Big, fresh baked mushroom PLOOM-shaped rolls and chicken?! I started putting the chicken in the rolls after a little while and ate ‘em as sliders. Yummers. The slaw was alright. It was a bit soupy and had a strange aftertaste to it. But yeah, this place is sorta known for their boba drinks and strips so I may check those out next time. Good eating though. Dalena: No way! It’s called Chicken & Roll. Just order chicken and some rolls. I wouldn’t get strips and boba. Unless you’re a square.

I was in search of tasty chicken strips and came across this place on Unilocal.4 stars seemed pretty good to me so I drove over to check it out. All the signage of boasting to be the best chicken strips in town only further rose my expectations. I ordered the 6 strip combo, with fries and mashed potatoes. The chicken was somewhat burnt and super bland. I mean little to no seasoning, the hot sauce made it bearable but not even close to the best of anything. The roll, as other Unilocalers said, was pretty good. It’s sweet and buttery, and HUGE! The fries were… well fries lol they were under seasoned as well. By the time I got through all of that, I had no room for the mash, so I can’t tell you how that was. But overall, my expectations were not met by a long shot, EVERYTHING here is decent at best. I feel tricked by all the propaganda.

I honestly really like this place. I went in there to get boba and some of the amazing bread rolls! They put the butter in the bread and its melted and delicious! I really like the chicken strip and french fry combo. The customer service is very welcoming and the shorter cashier is always very helpful when i had questions about the menu. And the guy who helps is always friendly as well. Ive never had bad customer service when i went there and lets just say i enjoy my fare share of chicken n rolls. I read some of the other rude reviews and i have to disagree! The service there is awesome and family like ! Definitely recommend going here :) As far as the negative reviews below vv Its about the service and the food! Which is both great! If u want to talk about the color of someones hair go review the barber shop next door

Chicken and Roll is my favorite spot to eat at when I am in the San Gabriel Valley area. Just a small drive to the 605 freeway and were there. The chicken strips combo is the best. AMAZINGCHICKEN –FRIES –MASHEDPOTATOES –DINNERROLLS And not to mention all of the amazing sauces to choose from!!! I recommend to try one of Each! Not to mention, but it’s CHEAP too!

First time trying this place as it was recommended to be by a friend. I ordered a chicken strip combo. The first thing I noticed is that the food was cooked to order so it took about 10min for me to get my order. The chicken strips were just ok to me they were Juicy and cooked well but they lacked flavor to me. The fries were really good more like home fries instead of french fries. The best part of my meal were the rolls they were huge and fluffy and had butter instead of them. One roll can be split between two people. Over all my meal was good. I will be back for the fries and rolls without a doubt. I will even give the chicken another try. I say try this place

The food is good! The employees not so much. I mean I understand it’s an entry level job, but you need to hire more enthusiastic people. The cashier did not smile or make any type of eye contact, she acted as if she was annoyed that I was here. I don’t know her name but she is short and has long dyed blonde hair. But anyways I didn’t come here for the customer service, the food is what helps bring me back.

I stumbled across this place because it is just down the street from my home. The parking was pretty cluttered because it has to share a very small lot with other businesses. When I first walked in I was greeted by an Asian man with a very thick accent. I believe he is also the owner/manager by the way he was talking to the other employees. The business also has some Asian influence because they also sell Boba and other Asian drinks. This place is apparently a branch of Donahoo’s Chicken which looks like some famous fried chicken place that I have never heard of. haha. None the less, I proceeded to order their family special that was advertised on their window. The family special had 6 pieces of fried chicken, 6 pieces of chicken tenders, 2 large sides, and medium order of steak cut fries, and 4 dinner rolls. Ordering was prompted and I waited about 10 minutes for my food. Total was about $ 24 They fry their chicken when you order so it was nice and fresh when I received it. Food: Fried Chicken– very moist and flavorful. I do wished they use meatier pieces of chicken instead of the skinny birds they fry. The breading was filled with tasty spices which elevated the flavor of the chicken. Chicken Tenders — I wish there was more breading on these. They are very light tenders that could use a bit more crisp. I’d stick to their fried chicken. Dinner rolls — these things are huge. about 2 times larger than an average dinner roll. They are also inject butter in the middle of these. Very fluffy on the inside but a bit tough on the outside. I just open them and peel the bread from the skin. Fries — Just average, nothing special Overall, pretty good fried chicken. This hole in the wall establishment that claims to be just as good as Donahoo’s is good eats. Now I just got to try to the real Donahoo’s to see what’s better. 4 stars

Went here because I was craving fried chicken and didn’t want the chain stuff. Got the 8-piece fried chicken combo with mashed potatoes and gravy and then the 12-piece chicken livers. The wait was about 15 minutes. The fried chicken was piping hot and juicy when I got home. Except it lacked seasoning. Yes, it was crispy, but it lacked flavor and seasoning. The chicken itself was juicy, yes, but was very bland. As for the dinner roll, you do get huge rolls with butter inside. But again, this did not hit the spot. It was really tough even though they were warm. I had to bite down and then pull away to chew a piece. The chicken livers were alright. They were a bit on the gamey side in terms of taste. Gritty would probably be a great way to describe it. Not really sure how it has high ratings. I’m just being honest with what I ordered and what I tasted. Even my mom, who isn’t picky, said that the chicken wasn’t seasoned and was bland. Didn’t even finish her piece of chicken. We ended up with a bunch of pieces of leftover fried chicken.

I found this place randomly while in La Puente and on the outside of the small restaurant, there is a posting stating that this is a smaller chain for their bigger restaurant in Pomona called Donahoo’s Golden Chicken that I have yet to go to, but have heard great things, so I was hoping the quality carried over the hype… but I think I fucked up cause I didn’t order fried chicken. I actually saw chicken gizzard which made my mouth watery, so I ordered that. I believe you can get an order of 6, 12, or 16 pieces. I forgot the total I paid for, it was definitely less than $ 10, but I got the 12 pieces of gizzard, with a choice of two sides, a biscuit and a drink. They loaded up my box with a lot of gizzards, way more than 12, hooked up. But the reason why I said I probably fucked up was, I was expecting the gizzard to be sort of like the grilled ones, just with fried batter. Then again, the meat probably isn’t meant to be in a fryer for a long time. The texture was sort of tough, still decent, but after a couple of pieces I got overwhelmed by it. Next time if I stop by here again, I am just going to try the fried chicken, besides the gizzards being mediocre, the service here was really great.

Want the best fried chicken in the area? Go here! It’s crispy, moist, and not greasy or too salty. It’s perfect. Their mash and cole slaw are like KFC, pretty good. Their steak fries are huge, their dinner rolls are even more huge. They serve boba to boot. It’s located in the seedier part of town, away from the hustle and bustle in the industrial area. Service is like any other fast food place. The place is made for to-go, not much to look at. At the end, food is king! KFC doesn’t hold up here. Thumbs up! But as always, let me know what you think.

My chicken’s gone All that’s left are some crumbs of gold And remembrances of strips I did hold And those crumbs of gold And the memories of the crispy skin And the memories of juicy chicken You took me out of long car drives down to Donahoo’s Same delicious recipes you do use How can I refuse The combos with strips, drumsticks, and thighs And the yeasty rolls that I do prize But you take it one step further than your mother ship restaurant You’ve given customers the sauces they want These dips you should flaunt And the best sauce was the sweet chili And your house sauce was so good to me Your cole slaw topped with raisins was a delicious creamy side But we didn’t like the sogginess of your shoestring fries They should be twice fried But that’s one miss in your repertoire And as a meal, it was above par! My chicken’s gone All that’s left are some crumbs of gold And remembrances of strips I did hold But I’ll be soon back again! So I can eat more of the crispy skin So I can eat more of the juicy chicken
