The Log Cabin Tavern

Poor service… Customers are great! Food is good. But you will wait a long time while bartenders give you eye contact and smile without saying they will be right with you.
Attn Manager: Fix your face and attitude. Learn how to deal with complaints… OR find a job where you are unseen and not heard, like your customers.

Great place for daily specials and drinks in Lacey. The deck is nice for those warm nights! The kitchen staff do really well with special orders.

Good DJ and good vibes at the bar. Pretty small bar, I think it’s pretty popular amongst the older population rather than the younger people. Drinks are not too expensive, even priced. Bouncers SCAN ID at the door, which I thought was pretty strange, since it being Olympia.

Great dinner for the price. Cold beer and fireball served in ice cold shot glasses. Laid back atmosphere. It has one pool table and darts. We left before the DJ started but I have gone before and we always have a (local bar) great time. We will be returning soon.

I moved to Lacey about 8 months ago and drive past this place every day. I decided to go last night on a whim and was not disappointed. I had the Rib eye, rare. It was cooked exactly right. It was on of the best steaks that I have had in years. Super tender. I have professional kitchen experience and can tell by the food, looking at the cooks and the kitchen, that someone there cares and it shows.
The downside. Two servers to cover the bar and floor at 7:00pm. Not enough staff. These two were working their tales off. I have read negative reviews about the service. I think that the core of that issue is staffing levels.
My only critique on the food was the selection of sides and no bread. I would have like to see more fresh veg on the menu. But perhaps I’ asking the log cabin to be something it aint.
I would suggest going there earlier if you want to enjoy the food. By 8:00, they were setting a DJ booth and closing the kitchen.
The log cabin is a classic «dive». Red fake leather and foil wrapped baked potatoes. Perfect. I am going to go back. I really feel that there is talent in the kitchen. I want to try other things on the menu. Put I gotta have the rib eye 5 or 10 time more just to make sure.
Eat here. Spend locally. This aint a chain. Support your local establishment.

Went midday when it was totally empty. Waitress was pleasant and food was good. Average sort of neighborhood dive bar. Don’t know that I would go on a busy night though.

Just had breakfast here today for the first time and I already can’t wait to go back. Steaks cooked perfectly and VERY reasonable prices. My wife had a 12 oz steak & I ordered the 1 lb. Ham Steak special for $ 8.95!

I’d give it a 1 star on service/​atmosphere, and 4 stars on wonderfully greasy food for the price. Take what you will from that.
It’s not a great experience, but I’ll probably be back to munch on the fries from time to time.

Just got back to the hotel after a night at this local Tavern. A bit younger crowd for me. The music was OK, and the steak dinner wasn’t bad. I was kind of harassed a bit by an older drunk gentleman, but the bartender was helpful and pulled him away. The drinks weren’t over priced and the taxi back to the hotel was cheap. (Better than a DUI, except I’m from out of town on business with a rental car) can’t risk driving the rental. Tired, going to bed. Thanks for the drinks log cabin.

NEVER EVER GO HERE — it took us 2.5 hours to get our food and a whole extra hour on top of that to get our check. both of the female servers were slow, lazy, and apathetic to how terrible the dinner service was going. the table next to us went and got a box of wheat thins from their car and started passing it around after two hours.
the servers were sipping their energy drink through straws, checking their phones and chatting with each other while every person in my 6 person group needed a refill after an hour of no return service. like, you couldn’t bring out some fries or any sharable appetizer after 2 hours?
the bouncer at the door that swipes your ID through a «totally legit and necessary» electronic scanner while you get wiped down with a metal detector wand. what is this, the 1230?
AS I WAS LEAVING — the door guy got in a fight with a patron that expressed that tonight was the worst service he had in 17 years and the door guy said «who cares, good riddance! fuck off!» and waved the customers away. he told me the same thing as I verbalized my agreement with them on my way out. I asked him if he understood how a business works and encouraged him to look into other lines of work and then flipped him off out my sunroof as I drove away. I will tell everyone I know this story and surely NEVER return.

Based solely on the food, I give this place five stars. Tavern wise, it’s kind of a dive, nothing fancy but not dirty either. Comfortable. The 1 pound ribeye steak came with a baked potato and salad and was cooked to a perfect medium. The flavor was absolutely phenomenal and the whole thing was less than $ 15. Way better than outback steaks or any chain restaurant. Again, the entire thing was only $ 15! The same ribeye is &12.95 on Fridays. Nightly specials throughout the week including a filet mignon on Saturday for &11.95!
I’ve been trying to get my wife to come here for over 15 years but I’ll never have to try again. She’s sold! We will likely be here several times a week for the steak specials. Amazing!

I live pretty close to the bar and have been there several times now.
EVERY bartender I have encountered there have been extremely rude and unprofessional. I sit at the bar hoping to get good service only to be ignored by the bartenders as they walk by. Every time I’ve wanted to order something I have to wave them down.
My worst experience there was when I was with a group of friends. A couple of us walked up to the bar to order a pitcher. The two bartenders there were talking to each other and not even looking over at us even though we were standing right there. I had to say «excuse me» and ordered the pitcher, the bartender made an audible groaning noise and rolled her eyes at me as if I was asking her to brew the beer herself. She said ok and continued talking to the other bartender for another few minutes before she poured the pitcher.

Minors are not allowed inside, even during lunch hours to eat. We had been there previously and loved the food. We took our son after looking for signage regarding children. We saw nothing, so, we brought him. Waitress said they couldnt serve minors. (Food.) I am not sure how this is different than places like Applebees and other establishments that also serve alcohol. We were not going to order anything other than food, water, and soda and were seated at a table. They need to list this somewhere prominent. I loved the food on the day that I went, but Idk if I will be going back due to the embarassment. We wouldnt have came in, if we had known.

Went with a group of friends to watch the Seahawks game. What a disappointment. The service was horrible. The server was very rude. The food was greasy. I will never go back. There’s too many other great places in town. Explains why the place was empty…

Have been here a couple time. The first was excellent. The $ 12 new york was probably the best I’ve ever had. Drinks where prompt and service was pretty good. Second time back, however, left something to be desired. I ordered my drinks and a steak as soon as I walked in. Drinks were prompt but after about 35 min my steak still had not materialized. When asked the waitress said the order had been canceled. I cashed out my drinks and left… hungry. Mcdonalds is right down the street.

This place sucks. Servers are rude. Last time I went in the place was full of people and they shut down at about 1:15 and started kicking everyone out. Don’t go unless you feel like getting searched for weapons at the entrance of a place and even after that you feel like you could get stabbed at any moment.

I went out and decided on the Log Cabin because it’s close to home. So I rode down on down on my bike but was told that that my road bike could be used as a weapon. They were very friendly about it, the parking lot was PACKED, it WAS a Friday night, I brought my lock, lock up my wheels and head into the bumping music, to find out it’s not packed at all. I expected with so many people in the lot that there would be A TON of people in there. Two VERY generous shots of SoCo was 13 and some change.
I was kind of under the impression that The Log Cabin was a country bar. Inside I did not see any cowboys. I have to say I am not used to being the smallest girl in a room, by about 60 pounds either.
Overall, I had a great night. Will go back and try the steak!

The steak for the price? Awesome sauce! It’s no Metropolitan Grill or Jak’s but the service is great and the steak is quite tasty. Loved the loaded mashed potatoes, the waitress was kind enough to recognize my antisocial ways by walking by and replacing my soda cup with a full one. I definitely recommend this place and will be back many times for my protein rush as I bulk.

Update to my review. Steaks are now average due to quality. We go at 4pm on Friday. Ol’ fart hour, the younger folks come in later than regulars. Wait staff always nice but over worked.
Another update, steaks are back to higher than average. Still my go to place for fast service and nice staff.

I heard about it on Unilocal,i have seen the full parking lot and gave it a try. The steak was cheap and big. The flavor was good but dry and tough. I am a medium rare kinda girl and it was cooked more medium. I asked for some cottage cheese for my baked potato and they charged me 2.25! Wow I can get a 16 oz tub for less then that.
I asked the bartender to recommend a good drink and she said how about vodka cran, really thats the best you got?
