I’ve been a customer for almost 20 years. Most of the customers are locals that just want a quick, inexpensive, consistent haircut in downtown Lafayette. The staff is very nice and friendly. They’re good with kids. They greet you when you come in. $ 15 for a men’s haircut. Usually quick and not much of a wait. Consistently good haircut. I’ve had one or two that weren’t amazing but almost all of them have been very good. For kids’/mens’ haircuts or anything not too complicated it’s tough to beat Cuts Unlimited.

Went in today to get a haircut since it’s close to my house. There wasn’t any wait, and the woman who cut my hair definitely knew what she was doing. That said, she took her time and was very detailed. The result? An amazing haircut. Will come again.

Went from having cute, long bangs ala Zooey Deschanel from the t.v. Show«New Girl», to crazy, nearly non existent, miniature bangs ala Jim Carrey in «Dumb and Dumber». What part of «I like to wear my bangs long» wasn’t clear? Not sure what I’m going to do about going to work with this look. Are berets back in style? Don’t go to Cuts Unlimited. They are clueless.

Worst haircut I’ve ever had. I asked for a 1.5−2 in cut, and got a cut at least 3 inches long. They also cut the back of my hair into a straight line– no tapering off, a flat line at the back! Going to try to find someone else to salvage this mess.

Been going here for over 12 years now and never had a bad experience. My kids are usual customers as well and frankly i dont get the negative reviews here… but i can speak from my experiecne. Very friendly and great haircuts.

I just experienced the worst hair cut in my 57 years of living. They refused to fix it, and threatened me if I did not pay. Please avoid the older Chinese man in the back left corner. I don’t know about other stylists there, so I don’t want to taint their reputation. It is un-even and ratty, my co-workers this morning told me to sue it was so bad. Not worth my time. I want the think part of it was that he could not speak English well, but I had a picture so, I don’t know. I think they should stick with men’s haircuts. They don’t always require skill.

I’ve been getting my hair cut here since my family moved to Lafayette 23 years ago. I took a brief hiatus while in college and living in SF, but now that I’m local again, this is my spot. A lot of the barbers have been here as long as I can remember and I’ve never once seen them be anything but friendly to customers. Over the past 23 years, I’ve probably had 350 haircuts here and while there have been a few bad ones, they do a great job 99% of the time. $ 15 for a men’s cut is pretty standard everywhere I’ve been, so no complaints from me. Only improvement in my mind would be staying open later than 6PM on weekdays for the after work crowd. Not a huge deal though.

No wait. Good price. Got my hair cut the way I wanted to without any hassle and they were very friendly! What else can I ask for?!

A good place to get a low-cost cut. I don’t know all the stylists, but Van and Anh do a very careful and skillful job. The prices are more than reasonable and a blow dry is always extra in these lower-cost salons. Prices are $ 15 and up for adults, and women’s are usually more expensive than men’s. I have always been treated well here and received a good cut.

If I could give this place no stars I would. I JUST walked out of this place, that’s how pissed off I am about the treatment and service i got from this place! On the window it reads an adult haircut is $ 15, but once inside it reads in tiny print«$ 15 and up.» When I walked in with my boyfriend, we were treated like we didn’t matter and they acted as if they were too damn busy to deal with us, even though there was only one person ahead of me. The only customers in there were men, and they were talking and laughing with them, talking about how lovely it was outside, but behind RIGHTINFRONTOFTHEIRCUSTOMERS they talk in Vietnamese about them! For example, one gentleman was getting his haircut and one woman began asking him if he was from the Lamorinda area, he said no, that he was from Oakland. The lady starts going off in a different language to the other woman wondering why someone so poor was in the area(And yes, I can understand what they are saying!!) and she continues asking this guy if he even works around the area, he says no. She then starts going off about why someone like him was in the Lafayette area. Really? When it came to my turn, the larger woman of the two looked at me, rolled her eyes, let out a heavy sigh, and acted like she was doing me a favor. She then startlike ting as if she didn’t understand me(FYI I’ve lived in California my whole 26 years of being alive! Yeah, my perfect pronunciation of the English language is the issue.) When I told her I was looking to just fix my bangs, she went off about how she didn’t understand me. Really? I asked for swoop bangs, the only thing I didn’t seen to make clear was that I said«I think I want the length up to here,» to which she responded with«I don’t understand, you want there or not?» Throughout the haircut she began insulting my hair as much as she could and when it came to using that stupid spray bottle, she went as far as to spray me INTHEFACE numerous of times! Note, I was not moving at all for those of you trying to give that horrible woman benefit of the doubt! First my hair she couldn’t «style» because it was too«thin,» something I have never heard before! I then asked her if she could trim a bit, but told her my hair was layered. She then started her stupid game of «me no understand your heavy American accent» again, then proceeded to poke me in the eye with her glued on fingernails and at one point scratched me with her gotti wedding ring, never once saying sorry. When she was finally done, she was actually going to let me walk out of the place with my hair soaking wet, not to mention she didn’t even layer my hair properly! She took half of the top and chopped off about an inch, I’ve NEVER seen ANYONE«layer» hair that way!!! When I asked her if I could blow dry my hair, she went off about how she would do it and that it would be extra charge. No joke. To blow dry my hair when she left it wet! Then when she was drying my hair, not only did she not dry it completely, she kept hitting my head with the hair dryer! What gives lady? She would pretend to blow dry my bangs but instead I got a face full of air from the hair dryer! Again, no sorry from her! When I finally went to pay, she tells me the total is «$ 17» because I asked for her to layer my hair. When I told her she did not tell me that and that the sign reads«$ 15 for adults» she went off about how the $ 15 was for men’s hair and because I was a woman she would have to charge me extra. No joke. SHECHARGEDMEEXTRATOBLOWDRYMYHAIRTHATSHEGOTWETANDBECAUSE I WAS A WOMAN!!! I will never come back to thus place even if you paid me! I will take my business to a place that we treat me like an equal, Supercuts in Orinda never gave me such an issue!

I have had some really great hair cuts from this place, and some really weird ones too. More often than not, I get an awesome haircut! Doan does a great haircut for men, and I recommend him. It’s nice to know that there is a simple hair cutting salon here in Lafayette that is quite nice.
