Everything we bought was so delicious and fresh! The oatmeal cookies were so soft, best I’ve ever had. The keylime tart and pralines were amazing too!

I ordered a large tray of pastries for a friend who is very important to me. I live thousands of miles away. The staff were exceptional assisting me with selection and guidance! The tray was delivered on time. I received a call from my friend raving about the pastries with others shouting out thanks in the background! Again — exceptional ;)

Their dobasche cake is the best! Our favorites are the caramel and the chocolate ones. Great danishes and King Cakes.

First you eat with your eyes, and they have this covered, for their pastries are beautiful. Then you cut into one and taste it. I have been going there for 25+ years and have NEVER been disappointed. This is one of my favorite bakeries anywhere. I have tried almost everything over the years and am always impressed. I am pretty sure the cream horns are my all time favorite.

I used to live in Lafayette, LA and was very familiar with Poupart’s Bakery. Since I moved, this was the first time I’ve ordered a King Cake on line from them. The cake was a little pricey but was pleasantly surprised that the shipping was free. I made a special request that it be delivered on February 4th and it arrived on that exact day. The cake was delicious! My guests enjoyed the King Cake and it was nice to share the Louisiana tradition with my friends in Hawaii. I would highly recommend ordering your King Cake from Poupart’s.

We stopped in on our way to a plantation tour. The mousse items that we ate there were very good. The items we took with us turned out a bit dry, but that may be because we didn’t eat them until later. It did cost a lot more than I thought it would.

Very disappointing! Last time I ordered petifores they had a long strand of hair that came out of one! Such a bummer. I’ll stick to Keller’s bakery(on Jefferson) who NEVER lets you down!

Overrated. Too expensive, for such mediocre quality. An Italian frosted cake at Albertsons rates better. The thing that most annoys me is bad frosting, it is too sugary and grainy. Thinking about it, it is the only thing that makes a cake stands out. Otherwise, a cake mix at home would do the trick and saves me 40 $. I only gave two stars instead of one because I’ve had much worse experiences from other bakeries.

So many delicious items to choose from… Light flakey classic Louisiana French bread, good honey biscuits, sweet and tasty cookies, fluffy cakes, classic French pastries and on and on. I am glad this bakery is 240 miles from me so I am not tempted too often. A good bakery is like gold. We stop in here whenever possible.

I think people go to this place for the same reason they go to other places in lafayette — because it’s «local.» Anyone who has taste buds can tell you this place is awful. The cookies look like they died a month ago — and it’s pretty hard for me to not like a cookie!!! The staff is nice and it’s been around forever — but I don’t understand why anyone would actually ever buy something here — I even tried to buy croissants here once and they were stale/funky/gross. Le sigh

One of my favorite places to get sweets and quiches. I’ve had all of their quiches and they’ve all been DELICIOUS. When I’m on that side of Lafayette I try to make sure to go there. Try to go early enough to get a fresh baked Chibatta bread. GREAT crunch on the outside and seriously soft and fluffy on the inside.

Beauty behind glass. Tiny pastries and full size cakes all in a row. Perfect spot to pick up a cuppa coffee and pastry or a loaf of bread for a picnic. I did not try their sandwiches, although they looked tasty.

This place is phenomenal. Their pastries and sweets are delicious. They have reasonably priced, authentic French food for lunch and breakfast. They also serve authentic, traditional kings cake from France for Mardi Gras. I would suggest this to anyone.

Everyone raves about Poupart’s. Everyone loves Poupart’s. I’ve gone a few times. I want to rave about it but I can’t. Its alright but not the«end all bakery» its made out to be. They… 1. Have a huge selection. 2. Staff not as friendly as I’d like. 3. Expensive 4. They«make ahead» and freeze some items. Freeze you say? Yes. I bought a cake that had been previously frozen so there was a stale frostbite taste through out. Hey bake your cakes daily! Don’t freeze them! That cake was 30 bucks! To quote @Shay L. review : «I asked another customer what she would recommend & she said the cream puff so I got one. When I bit into it it was still freezing but not totally frozen which confused me. Why would a bakery freeze a pastry they sell in their own store? »

Went to grab lunch but they stop serving at 2 pm :-( Since we have a hotel room with a fridge I thought I’d pick out a few pastries for dessert tonight or breakfast. I choose the apple tart at the last minute which was the best thing in the pretty white box & i wish I would have bought more! I wasn’t impressed with the rum ball. Pete said it tasted like bubble gum & it did… LOL! The mini pecan pie & mini lemon meringue were alright. I asked another customer what she would recommend & she said the cream puff so I got one. When I bit into it it was still freezing but not totally frozen which confused me. Why would a bakery freeze a pastry they sell in their own store? Anyway, I can’t wait to go back & try something off their lunch menu. The young lady that helped me was very nice & patient, especially when I told her it was my first time there & answered all my questions. They also have lots of preserves, pickled items, breads, rolls, cookies, pies, cakes for sale! I noticed a crawfish pie in the freezer that I hope to try! So, for now I give Poupart’s 3 stars but will come back & try again.

If you can do it, I recommend going for breakfast. Their biscuits are amazing. They have a large variety of flavours for biscuits. If you aren’t able to get there early, early, their pastries and cakes are equally delicious.

Friendly staff, delish baked goods. We got an assortment of pastries, all great. We also ordered a French King Cake(different than the king cakes that are covered in green and purple sparkling sugar, this is plain with an almond flavord filling). But the taste was anything but plain… DELISH! We will definitely be back when we come again next year for the Crawfish Festival!

The place is relatively small, some what dated, but then, many bakeries are. Felt rushed when I was looking, since after all, this was my first time here. Nevertheless, their baked goods are pretty decent.
