I simply adore this little restaurant! The overall feel is wonderful especially on a sunny day with their big windows. I love their food and have gone their countless times. Their sandwhich was are extremely fresh and the service is amazing. Give this one a try!

I’m having the Raging Rooster. My waitress just brought me a cup of coffee and its in a cool cup. No two cups of coffee are alike. Great small town feel with a neat and clean look. Like this place.

I had the grilled cheese, egg and bacon sandwich. The service is great and the food came out incredibly quick.

In my estimation– this is acadiana! Ambiance is that of a local diner with the adorable theme of… well… rusted roosters. The food is good! Home made biscuits– you want this. I got the ragin rooster– biscuit, fried chicken, pepper jelly– added a fried egg and side of fruit. The fruit was fresh, coffee community and the waitress(1 for whole place) super sweet and friendly. Restaurant/kitchen/restroom all very clean. And the real flowers in jelly jars on table were a sweet touch. Final analysis: I heart this place– if you eat breakfast– you will too.(sidenote– friend wants me to add… no pancakes. I know, he didn’t comprehend it either– but they do the biscuits so well… you will stop pouting).

I had a great experience here. The place is small and personal, which is great for a relaxing lunch away from work. The food is fresh but the wait was too long. This prevented me from giving it a 5 star. All the food is appropriately priced as well for the farm to table quality. Id recommend this to anyone.

I can’t believe I never wrote a review for this overpriced shit shack. I had small salad, a half-way decent but small chicken sandwich and fries, and my bill was $ 18. Srsly? For $ 18 I could have had a good lunch at Social or Bonefish. I got roped into going here… not my choice, and I will not be back.

Try the hangover for breakfast! Best quality fried chicken and gravy around town! The curious george is good for a sweet option, as well as the one with praline glaze.

I had the ciabatta believe it sandwich. The chicken breast was the perfect size, I loved the sun dried tomatoes with the pesto! My boyfriend got the cheeseburger which was also delicious and juicy. Service was great, prices were perfectly reasonable. I will definitely be back to explore the menu!

The biscuits alone make it worth the trip for breakfast. Nice, friendly staff and some interesting twists on breakfast sandwiches. No boudin, but they do have grilled andouille sausage if you are looking for a local angle. On that note, the local honey on any of their biscuits is incredible!

Some of the best restaurants are often described as being«a hole in the wall.» This is one of those restaurants. Situated in a tiny unassuming space in a building it shares with Pizza Hut, Rusted Rooster offers the best breakfast I’ve had in quite awhile(they also offer lunch). I had the«Raging Rooster,» a buttermilk biscuit with fried chicken and«local pepper jelly.» While I was hoping it’d be spicier, it was delicious nonetheless. Every element was perfect: the homemade biscuit, the perfectly fried white meat chicken, the sweet and slightly heated pepper jelly… delicious. I also ordered coffee(they serve Community, which is always good) and a side of bacon. $ 2.25 for two slices of bacon is a bit steep, but it was crispy and delicious and made me forget about the price. I can’t wait to go back. Rusted Rooster is my new breakfast spot in Lafayette.

I feel as though I have missed out on what breakfast really is for the past 38 yrs. the food here is unbelievable and you are almost certain to see a few nationally ranked Rajin Cajuns here as well. In the infamous words of Arnold The Oak…“I’ll be back!”

Great lunch(and breakfast) spot close to downtown Lafayette. I’ve only been once and was very pleased but my mom has been a few times and has had consistently good experiences. I had a perfect fried chicken sandwich. The chicken was lightly fried throughout in a way that, now living in the Midwest, I can’t take for granted anymore. Chick-fil-a eat your heart out!

The place is small but the personality is HUGE. People are nice and the food is great. I had a Holy Cow… it was the best bacon cheeseburger I’ve had in a while. It was so juicy I had to use 2 napkins. The sides are great too not just fries and onion rings. The prices are reasonable too. I highly recommend this place

I have been on numerous occasions and have been fully satisfied every single time. I’m originally from New Orleans. In Nola we have a lot of local neighborhood restaurants that make you feel right at home. The rusted rooster does that x 10. Thank you guys for always being welcoming, warm, and serving amazing food. I have spread the word to all my friends. They text/call me immediately to thank me for the recommendation. Keep up the great work. The only thing I would recommend is be open on a weekend or a few nights a week because I crave it so often. Thanks guyS!!!

Although I live in this area I hadn’t gotten the opportunity to try this place. So while out one morning I decided to give it a try. I wanted to try the Cock-a-Doodle –Two Breakfast but they were out of grits. I instead ordered the Don’t Worry Be Happy(Buttermilk Biscuit with Hand Battered Fried Chicken Breast topped with local Honey).(Drizzled on the outside of the biscuit). The biscuit was pretty good and the chicken breast was crispy yet tender and well seasoned. The honey was okay, not very flavorful. If I were to ever order this again I will ask they put the honey on the breast. That way it won’t be as messy. I think the the prices are reasonable and the service was okay.

Had been wanting to try this place after hearing great things and finally made it out with my mother who is gluten intolerant. The food came fast, service was just fine, and it was definitely fairly priced. I’m not sure if I went to the same place as the reviewers who are claiming bad service or overpriced food but perhaps those things have been addressed since then because my mother and I were very pleased, especially when they offered to specifically cook a special dish for her in case there was nothing on the menu that she could eat but fortunately there was. The food itself was delicious and I think Rusted Rooster fills a market gap that was very much needed in a great neighborhood like the saint streets. We will be returning.

Breakfast was amazing! Home fries were perfectly seasoned. My rooster coop was excellent. I love when places give the bread circle when making egg-in-a-hole(I also like it when places have egg-in-a-hole, my favorite breakfast dish). My friend got the Ragin Rooster with honey and it looked amazing. He surely didn’t complain.

So I really wanted to come here for breakfast, but I was a little late. so this review is strictly on their lunch. and service of course. Really cool ambiance, feels like a farm to table kind of place. But the service was horrible. Our waitress was not helpful and we felt rushed, being our first time here, we wanted to review the menu and check out our options. This place is way too expensive for their portions and quality of their food. Anyways, we had the following: –Rooster Cordon Bleu: fried chicken, grilled ham, swiss cheese, ranch spread, lettuce, tomato, on a Kaiser roll; this was okay, not anything great –Holy Cow: black angus patty, bacon, cheddar cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, purple onion and homemade sauce; felt like a «meatloaf» burger, and dried out, asked for medium and got well –Fries: which is not included, and must I say is a very small portion(look at the pictures I uploaded); this was at least okay, but the portions were wayyyy too small, thank goodness we ordered two orders. I really wanted to try breakfast, but since now I seen how the service is, I probably will not even bother.
