Service, view and food were great. Nice Saturday morning breakfast. Price was decent as well.

My boyfriend surprised me with The Cliff for lunch. Very romantic! We got there around 4 and it wasn’t as packed as we thought it would be. We brought along Bear, my boyfriend’s dog, so we sat on the top. No biggie! Still had a spectacular view and we loved it because all we heard were the waves crashing. Super relaxing and we got to enjoy the sunset food was absolutely great. We got the crab cakes for appetizer, super delicious! They had the perfect crunch and the sauce that came with it was definitely the way to go. Would love to come back for dinner and enjoy the view at night. Service was great, we got seated right away and got to pick our table. Drinks and food came out fast

It’s kinda hard to fuck up a club sandwich, but they did. And the fries were stale. The view is pretty great, so come in for a drink and to enjoy the ocean. Just skip the food.

The Cliff restaurants is by far the best keep secret in Laguna. The food was delicious The staff was wonderful thank you very much Louie and Colleen for a wonderful night. We had four appetizers that they were to die for … I honestly can’t pick which one would be my favorite… the popcorn shrimp sashimi tuna bruschetta bread… Too difficult to decide i love them all. My kids are not easy to please but they sure love their fish and chip is a great size and amazing price. Did I mention The cliff has amazing service. And Beautiful view of the ocean. My husband had the enchilada’s And I had the surf and turf… Delish!!! We will definitely come back

The view is great and ambiance, if you sit on the lower deck, is beach perfect. Service is annoying and food is just satisfactory, nothing special. Sangria mostly ice and fruit slices for $ 12 was disappointing. Burger just ok and pear said just ok. View is great but you can see it from many places in Laguna. Wouldn’t make an effort to go here. Maybe happy hour midweek when cost is less might be worth then view.

This view at this reaturant is just breath taking. I came here for lunch on a beautiful Sunday afternoon with my girlfriend. The resturant itself is situated along the coast in a little artist village of PCH. The kitchen is rather small so they switch to the lunch menu right at 11:30am.(Was hoping they served Breakfast all day) We were sitted immediately upon arrival and they also have open seating in the downstairs lounge area(brown chairs). Our view from our seats was just breathtaking and pictures could not do it justice. The view of waves crashing on a beautiful so cal day while sipping on a craft brew, it does not get much better then that. I ordered a half sandwich and soup. I went with the classic club and lobster bisque soup. Both were delicious, the club was stacked with turkey and applewood bacon and the soup bique complemented the club well. My girlfriend ordered the fish and shrimp combo. It had two nice size pieces of tempura cod with fried jumbo shrimp all on top of some pretty tasty French fries. The tempura cod was definately the highlight of the dish. Tempura batter is amazing and with cod it was no exception… it was pure bliss. Overall it was a great experience and I recommend this place to anyone who wants to have some delicious food and drinks all with an amazing view.

I was expecting mediocre food with a great view but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good, the drink I had was good, and the view was amazing. My wife, a friend and I went to The Cliff for an early dinner and were able to get a great sunset view and also we were able to order from their early dinner menu. We will definitely return to The Cliff Restaurant. I just wish we knew about this place before since we live 20 minutes away. Till next time!

Finding this place was a little challenge since you can’t actually see the restaurant from the PCH. They do have a sign that has The Cliff Restaurant that you can see. You need to walk through a few little shops to get to the restaurant at the back. Once you get there you’re in awe with the view. My family and I decided we wanted to start the weekend off with a nice meal, great view and relaxing atmosphere. The Cliff Restaurant is definitely the place to go. If you’re just coming for a drink, they will direct you to the bar which doesn’t overlook the ocean. We wanted the view! Parking was a nightmare around 4 pm — we needed to park a couple blocks away in a neighborhood up the hill and luckily found a spot for free. There is metered parking on the street but it was all taken. It’s a nice walk, so we didn’t mind. Prior to coming, I looked on their website and found they do an early dining menu from 3−6pm Monday-Thursday. Everything on this smaller separate menu is $ 10 except the surf & turf for $ 28. We arrived around 4pm and there was no wait for a table. We had to ask for the early dining menu making me think they do not give it out to everyone that comes through. My brother and I both got the early diners $ 10 blackened ahi burger which was great and bigger than we thought! It’s a full size burger that comes with a side of fresh fruit. I do not like spicy and asked if the«blackened» seasoning was spicy and was told it wasn’t but it definitely had a kick to it. Our waitress said next time we can request they do not add the blackened spice. As for drinks, we ordered 2 beers at $ 6 a piece and a wine. The drinks took a little while to come out(longer than the food) so order ahead. More customers started to come in around 5(sunset rush) and the staff got more busy which left us waiting for our check longer than expected. We all really enjoyed our meal and you can’t beat the view. There were also cute little shops with jewelry and art that you can walk through after you’re done at The Cliff.

Love this place! The views of the ocean don’t get any better. Incredibly peaceful watching the majesty of the sea. Food choices are diverse & portions generous. Tried crab nachos this time & even though I ate & ate I barely made a dent! Mom had soup & half sandwich — she really liked the chowder & the«half» sandwich, which was huge! But truly beyond the spectacular views, one of the biggest reasons I enjoy The Cliff is the staff. They are consistently professional & perhaps the friendliest waiters/waitresses I’ve ever run across. Tonight, Antonio was ours & true to past experiences he was polite, helpful & friendly. I look forward to my next visit!

After careful deliberation…(because I like to think of myself as a judge on food network) taking into consideration Ambiance, Food, and Service I give the cliff 4 stars! Here’s why: 1) Food: After going to the cliff twice in a two week time span I can say the difference between breakfast and lunch is pretty big. The breakfast I had the week prior was in one word, Tasty. The eggs and potatoes were spiced and cooked to perfection and my chicken and waffles were the . Actually let me elaborate really quick on the chicken and waffles… soft, warm, golden brown waffles with orange agave syrup next to a side of crisped to golden brown perfection chicken, tender and juicy with just the right amount of salt; okay now that your salivating lets get to the lunch I had today, mediocre. *sigh, it was a let down after building up such high hopes from breakfast last week but the fish with shrimp and chips was aight… and the chicken nachos were mainly cheese and chunks of chicken with tomatoes and onion with the tortilla chips drowning in a watery mess of tomato juice. But you know what?(yes I know I shouldn’t start a sentence with but, but whatever) it still earns stars mainly for, AMBIANCE! 2) Ambiance: let’s break this down… its Laguna beach, it’s on a cliff(hence the name) it’s Laguna beach… andd you can see the beautiful blue ocean and coast for miles! I mean the view makes me contemplate giving everything up to pitch a tent off the cliff somewhere just so I can experience that on the daily, and I’m not kidding. Major star points in this category. 3) Lastly but not least… Service. Important category here, it’s kind of a make or break when it comes to overall dining experience. It’s a 3 out of 5 for service here; nobody is rude but they are not quite personable or friendly either. Kind of a take your order and go kind of thing… which is fine but a friendly smile or attitude goes a long way. So overall average on service. You can’t beat this view, it will give you all the feels and then some. Come for breakfast, the prices are very reasonable and you won’t be disappointed. Some quick tips, it’s 3 dollars and hour for valet and weekends are busy here! Bring your appetite, and your friends and family, and enjoy view, insert sunglasses emoji here.

This place is A-OK. The view and location is amazing. Pity I came here during winter for a really late dinner. Despite being right next to the ocean, it was too dark, too windy, and too cold to enjoy the dinner. There are outdoor heaters, but they didn’t help much at all. The food was pretty average. The steak I got was instantly turned cold by the chilly winds and it was a bit chewy. The coconut shrimp wasn’t all that impressive. I think I enjoyed the salad course best. Service was pretty average… I would be willing to give this place another try during lunch hours or before sunset during the summer. I’m fairly confident it will be a better experience.

I am giving this place 4 stars for the view and setting, as well as the food. But if I had to rate the service, it would be lower. You can literally sit on the edge of a cliff and have breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. I could see this being a great place for a date. The menu was great, lots of local option with a crab omelet as well as classic dishes such as a Benedict. I would go again, i would just plan on slow service that has to be reminded several times to bring coffee or water etc.

The only thing I have had here are the Scallops Wasabi and they are amazing when ever my work has meeting out here we come here get a drink and some scallops before going off to dinner. Its a great place to watch the sunset and get your drink on too. they have a multi tiered deck so there is plenty of seating for everyone. the view is amazing.

What an amazing location! Everything we had for brunch was great, along with the beautiful beach view and breeze! Only reason Im not giving it 5 stars is because the umbrella on our table was broken and the sun was blasting my face, very uncomfortable.

We came here with our puppy for lunch. It’s not surprisingly a challenge to find restaurants that allow pets, so we were stoked with The Cliff had a patio seating area that allowed animals(there are about 4 tables in that section). The food was average. We just had some chips/guac(which was just sliced avocado on top of pico de gallo) and a carnitas quesadilla. Come here for the view and the patio because it’s awesome. Happy Laguna-beaching! I’m sure this place gets packed with tourists, FYI.

Honestly, I would have never known about coming here if it wasn’t for this lovely I just met and he decided to take me here for a date. It was a Monday and two days after the god awful time change so it was about 5pm but it felt like 8ish and I must say this is why my date ended earlier than usual LOL and I shall tell you why later in the review HAHA. Thank god for my date knowing how to navigate this place, because If I was a newbie trying to figure out the hostess podium, I would be so confused. I didn’t like this at all. Anywho the host took us down to our seats. I was worried that we would be cold sitting outside not far from the crashing waves. Their heat lamps definitely did a good job keeping me nice and toasty. Our waitress was very sweet and so kind. We started with some classic martini’s and OMG they were soooooooo large and strong. Thank god I wasn’t driving. Even Mr. G couldn’t finish all of his. I even tried ordering a sweeter martini and it still was quite strong LOL. So if I ever need to get F’d up, I’m coming back just for the dranks HAHA. So the menu was somewhat all over the place, making it hard to decide because many things sound great. So I’d say, they have something for everyone here. We started with wasabi scallops. I loved the presentation of these. Fresh raw scallops with a seaweed salad, ginger and wasabi aioli topping each scallop in their own shells and a nice squeeze of lemon. I enjoyed this very much. Only issue I had with this dish was I wanted it all for myself LOL. It’s not big enough to share in my opinion: p We also ordered cups of clam chowder. The clam taste was most definitely there but the consistency was a bit watery. Mr. G was very honest with the waitress since he owns his own restaurant. We told her the taste was there and no need to replace it. She just wanted his honest criticism. For our main, he ordered the burger and wanted to see if it was worth the price point. I mean we’re in Laguna beach for gods sake. I ordered a simple fettuccine alfredo. He thought I was ordering cheap since this was a first meet LOL. He doesn’t know me, I don’t care if its a 1st meet or the 20th, I’m going to order whatever I want HAHA. I just had a craving for that :) Food comes out. Mr. G’s burger plate came with fruit since he didn’t want fries. The bun looked all nice and shiny on top(brioche,) BUT the burger was overcooked sadly. We don’t have all day to send shit back while I’m still enjoying mine. He was a good sport about it. My fettuccine was gooooood. Thick and creamy. This hit my craving spot, that’s for sure. The garlic toastini’s were so good. I love garlic bread. Nice and toasty, not oily, just flavorful. I enjoyed my meal that’s for sure. I was too full from dessert, plus drinks are my dessert LOL. Speaking of, on our way out Mr. G said finish my drink, I said sure. Finishing his drink, seriously knocked me out on my ass. I was so drunk I passed out by 7. I just knew I F’d up this dinner date. Luckily he understood and it was his fault for telling me to finish off the drink LOL. I will definitely come back but one drink MAX!!!

The four stars is more for the location and the view than the food, although I was happy with that too. On a Sunday afternoon, around 4 pm, it was easy to get a table right up front, with the sound of the waves and the picturesque Laguna coastline. Stunning. My wife ordered a beer, and I a martini. When they arrived, i was shocked at the size of the drink. Huge! It wasn’t even cold, so there must have been a few drinks in there. Needless to say, I never considered ordering another drink. We ended up sharing the scallops on the half shell, a dozen, and the chile relleno plate. Both were good. The relleno: While super picky about rellenos, I didn’t hate this. I even liked it, although it broke almost every relleno rule. It came battered in what appeared to be a corn meal batter, was covered in green sauce and ortega bits, and came with sides of beans covered in partially coagulated cheese and green sauce, and Mexican rice. The chile itself was quite firm, not having gone through the appropriate roasting, and the cheese inside was of the jack cheddar mix. It was all good though. It worked with the textures and tangy flavors along with the mostly melty cheese. The beans were tasty too, but the rice was just okay. We both agreed this was not a dad dish, and were satisfied. The Scallops: I’ve never even seen raw scallops on the half shell, so i had to order it. These could have been absolutely great, but missed the mark on a few details. The presentation was very nice. and the scallops were very fresh and tender. They had a little soy sauce in the shell, were covered by a thin piece of sushi-bar ginger, and a tiny amount of wasabi cream. First off, it would have been better to just put the condiments on the side. Some of the shells had simply too much soy sauce, overpowering the scallops. I ended up pouring it out of the others, but it was still a tad too much. Secondly, most of the scallops had too much ginger. A tiny strip would have sufficed.(My wife thought they were just fine.) Finally, the wasabi cream wasn’t hot enough. No real detectable wasabi. I will absolutely order these again. I loved them, but will request a special order next time, my way. The relleno? I’d get that again too. Knowing it’s more of a rellenesque dish, rather than a traditional one. Go for the view, stay for the food and drinks. It’s not cheap, and the food isn’t great, but the view makes it worth it. Oh, and the service was very friendly, fast, and attentive.

I just landed at the John Wayne airport and had a few hours to spare before my first meeting so I decided to head for the beach looking for a restaurant with a view. This restaurant definitely has a view. The restaurant itself looks a bit old and could use a renovation, then again the view is incredible, well worth any wait to be seated right next to the beach. I sat down looked at the menu(attached pics) and enjoyed a Mule with the nice cool breeze. The drink was ok, nothing special, then again there is nothing special about a mule but I had better, specially for the price. Menu offered different fresh options, so I went for the Halibut, it got me at mango sauce. The plate was full with some rice and a salad making it a bit crowded and difficult to eat, made me feel like in a Denys. The fish was a bit over cooked, I hate that. The sauce was good, the mango was ripe and sweet with hints of spicy, wish it had some habanero but that’s just my Mexican side. The flavor overall was good. Then I ordered a XX as expected of US imports already had a skunky taste, oh well not their fault, you want the true taste of XX go to Mexico City. The desert was a mix of vanilla ice cream and berries with whip cream, if you are to do a desert so simple you make sure to have the best vanilla cream in town! Right? Well it was good, a bit too much whip cream and presentation kid of sucks. Overall a good experience, fair price for the area and the view, but definitely will try a different place next time Safe Unilocaling!(I love that autocorrect knows the word Unilocaling!!)

This was my first visit. I have to say that my day started off very pleasant in LB because I found parking quickly! Woohoo! There was a line at the hostess stand but we were seated right away because we sat on the highboys behind the tables with the view. This isn’t a bad spot at all — views are still terrific because you’re higher than the table-dwellers. We were greeted by a very cheery Aaron who educated us on the lovely libations. He recommended the scallops which turned into an excellent recommendation. They were delicious! I opted for the strawberry salad and the hubby got the fish and chips. He’s British and he enjoyed them. Enough said! The salad was tasty and fresh. Service was excellent. We had quite a few people checking on us during our stay. I felt like a valued guest! 5 stars to all of you! I will be back to pound down a few more Bloody Marys!
