Ok, so I’ve been here twice. And my two experiences perfectly mirror the black and white mixed reviews. Once was perfect, the other, well… My boyfriend and I both got food poisoning, so sorry to say:-(The service, food and ambience was great!!! But late that night, and the next day, we were both unmistakeably sick. We narrowed down our recent meal histories and sadly, we could only point to TOG. However, the second time I went, again, the food, service and ambiance were excellent, and no ill feelings whatsoever. We had an extremely awesome, talkative waiter we loved, and our chicken kabobs were mouthwatering, moist, flavor-perfect and juicy! All was well seasoned and I ate every last bite. So, it seems like overall they are an excellent choice, but are potentially inconsistent, which I find to be the biggest downfall in many restaurants.

Stopped by and took food for take-out, had Greek salad and stuffed sweet peppers with meat/blend. Sooo good! Cannot wait to go back and dine in and order different entrees. The owner took my order, and the servers were polite. I’m impressed so far!!! Will update my review after I dine in.

Great food and dessert. We were sitting on the little green patio area with our dog. The waiter even served our dog some water!

I love eating at this hidden little gem. Elizabeth is an amazing cook and is always so welcoming. Every time I come I get the chicken gyro plate and it always taste the same. They are very consistent and their food is very fresh. The place gets packed so I take out most of the time. Usually takes about 20 minutes for when you order your food. Just be prepared for the wait, but it’s worth it!

We were told by a friend who has Greek in laws that they love this place and to try it out and we were so glad we had the chance. The food and service were amazing. The owners are so friendly and our server Charissa was wonderful. The staff all work as a team and are always checking on you. We ordered the lamb dinner and it was amazing! We will definitely be going back!

Visited for lunch with my grandma on a Tuesday. Monday’s they are only open from 4pm-9pm. I absolutely adore that the Taste of Greece is a mom and pop owned restaurant. Lunch menu: — Very reasonably priced! — Many traditional Greek recipes — Home style feel with photos of Greece Ordered the Loukaniko: Greek style sausage, lunxh portion, with white rice and spicy feta cheese mix. $ 9.50 Also ordered the Grilled chicken breast, lunch portion, with white rice and tzatziki sauce on the side. $ 9.50 Ordered two Greek salads on the side $ 2.50 each. Will come back again

After a visit to the local botanical garden in Laguna Niguel we Unilocaled a restaurant close by and this came up! We were so very pleased from the moment we walked inside to our first bite of their delicious food! Greek pride reigns supreme in this place… From the color scheme to the napkin holders to the many decorative pieces you Really feel a sense of pride. Our waitress was very sweet and recommended almost everything that we suggested on the menu, telling us her favorites and guiding us through our choices. We settled on the sampler platter which had a variety of Greek foods, served warm and prepared perfectly. We also ordered the spanakopita which was made fresh and brought out right out of the oven. It was a very different kind of preparation made with almost a puff pastry as opposed to flaky phyllo but it was very very delicious. The desserts however, really shined. The profiterole was amazing! Topped with the delicious chocolate sauce and a dollop of whipped cream it was the perfect ending to a great meal. My friend had the baklava and really enjoyed it as well. If you like traditionally prepared Greek food in a very quick environment with Greek servers this is the place for you! It was a wonderful afternoon and we will be back!

I guess I had too much high expectations coming here because of the rating. Our server was just up selling the menu too much. Ending giving me a salad I didn’t order and getting my actual order all wrong. Food was ok. Meat had a lot of flavor and my calamari is not so bad wither. I just think price is just a tad steep. Not gonna be in a rush to come back.

It’s good. I would say more a 3.5/ could get a 4 if they’re service was better. Pretty slow.

3 days ago, upon leaving an appointment, I was excited as I spotted this place that I had bookmarked quite a while ago. We stopped for a take-out order & while waiting, as you can see… I took pics of a very quaint, but empty restaurant. Sorry to report that both my husband & I were NOTATALL satisfied, nor impressed with their food! Ordered the combo gyro/chicken plate, and a lamb entrée as well. Both truly just mediocre! The owner was so sweet & attentive, even giving suggestions. However, ITJUSTDIDN’T hold up to «the true authentic» Greek food that’s promised! Wish we were wrong! :( The only things that we truly loved was their yummy hummus & pita bread.

A little disappointed. I moved right behind this place and we wanted to try it out. I ordered 2 pitas and came home and realized they forgot one. We go back for the other one and it was supposed to have chicken and feta only and bring it home to find out it has everything on it. Im very very picky which is why I order everything plain. I will not eat this now which sucks cause I am very hungry. Now have to order labite delivery and wait another hour to eat. :( I will say their fries and hummus were good so their food may be good but the overall first experience was disappointing

Dolmades(Grape leaves) were warm, juicy and delicious. Chicken was a bit dry and overcooked. Baklava with honey drizzle was excellent! Good food with a great price!

Hey everyone This place is the finest mom & pop run greek place. On Thursday night when all dinners are done, live music is played and the tables are moved to make room for the dancing. I haven’t been there for this but will definitely plan it. The food is amazing. Authentic, tasty, full of flavor and very reasonable. We ate like kings(actually overate, big time!) but enjoyed every morsel. And you will too. If you are in Orange County, make your way to this amazing gem. Efcharisto(Greek for Thank You) for making such a great dinner

Who reviews this place on Unilocal?Employees? Friends? Family? After seeing numerous 5 star ratings, my wife and I decided to try this place. South Orange County, Laguna Niguel in particular is a desert when it comes to decent restaurants. Had high hopes for a nice meal. Started off well, wait staff was very friendly and engaging. Based on the recommendation of the staff we ordered the Spanakopita, Lemon Chicken, and the Chicken Shish Kebab. Thoughts are a follows. Spanakopita, so-so. I’m a native Chicagoan, where there is a wealth of great Greek cuisine. If you’re looking for it in South County go to Trader Joes and grab some from the freezer section. What they serve here is decidedly«ok», not worth coming back for. Lemon Chicken, again so-so. Was expecting the chicken to be a little less greasy and with perhaps crispier skin. The lemon potatoes were also disappointing, suggest that chef consider cooking them a bit more. Chicken Shish Kebab, «Low grade dog-food» doesn’t begin to describe the chicken. I was convinced the meat was a species other than chicken, perhaps a cut-up pork chop, my wife felt it was just bad chicken. Bottom line don’t order this. In summary, the numerous 5 star ratings mean that at times the chef gets it right. For my wife and I tonight though not so much.

I’ve been here a few times now. I actually would give the food a 4. however the service and the seating bring it to a 3.5. They have increased the choices on the menu. but I think it has slowed down service. A couple that was seated next to me waited 20 minutes before anyone came over to them, and they got up and left. We started with the fresh grilled sardines. They were delicious. They were drizzled in olive oil and lemon and herbs. The pita bread was good and the dipping sauce was tasty. I got the moussaka which was delicious, however was only luke warm. I would like it served warmer. My friend got the chicken and it was nicely seasoned and tender and came with rice. The entrees come with a mixed greens salad and was crisp and fresh. The place is clean, however the tables and chairs are a bit uncomfortable. Come here early as this place does get busy for both lunch and dinner. Give yourself more time, and be willing to wait. We were done with our meal and it took over 20 minutes to get our bill. Our water glasses were never refilled unless we asked. We had to ask 3 times to get a box to take home some leftovers. However, because the food is very good and fresh, I’ll be back, but not when I’m in a hurry.
