Either the 5-star guy was on vacation today and sent his brother to cook, or the people that wrote these reviews have never eaten anything better than McDonalds. This was truly the worst plate of tacos I’ve ever had – dried-out and stale blue corn tortillas, barely-warm and tasteless fried shrimp, overcooked and dry pork, flavorless chopped cabbage, and super-acidic sauce. I couldn’t even finish them. I’m sorry to leave such a bad review but this food was just dreadful. I tossed it and drove 15 minutes to Honokowai for dramatically better(and cheaper!) fish tacos.

Freshly grilled fish tacos paired with breathtaking ocean views — a WINNER in my books! Get ready to wait for a bit as he lovingly prepares your food just right. Enjoy the view, grab some fruits or coconut and feed your tummy!

Ono Munchies, on the road past Kapalua. Coconut shrimp tacos with Hawaiian fruit & veggies. Well worth the wait

The chicken and sausage tacos were great and filling. The fresh cut coconut was rejuvenating and brought me back to life. He also served cold drinks, coconut shrimp, and mahi mahi. The owner was friendly and he also made suggestions on what to check out while we were visiting Maui. I craved local flavor and I got it!

Amazing fish tacos– best I’ve had so far in the island– and loved chatting with the owner while overlooking the bay. He is passionate about what he does!

The food is good not great. But look around you and you’ll see why this place gets 5 stars. The proprietor is a nice guy too.

Stopped on a whim, also because I was thirsty and starving — and struck up a conversation with Kiwika.(sorry about the spelling). Nicest guy ever — and best shrimp taco in my entire life. I’d make the trip to the island just for this taco. Hey Kiwika — stay in touch! You’ve spurred me to look into more conservation for my property: Rocky Hill Farms in galena, IL. I’ll teach you how to make maple syrup! Kathy

Stopped off on the way back from the blow hole to get my wife some fish tacos and found out they have coconuts that Kawiki, the owner, hacks open with his machete. We loved the coconut water and the fish tacos were so so so good. Kawiki is warm and humble. He told us about his family farm, where his grandpa still works, as he cooked. We ended up having 3 coconuts and a plate of fish tacos. The fish in the fish tacos comes from a fishing friend is his so it was excellent and fresh. A whole plate is only $ 10. On Maui that is pocket change for a meal this big and yummy. The coconuts are only $ 5 and there are two kinds: ones with more water and no coconut meat and then there are the ones that have less water and more coconut meat. You can’t go wrong with either one. We had two with meat and one with water. Made my wife’s trip to get coconut and fish tacos, I would recommend this to anyone going past. There are two stands in the lookout area and I feel sorry for anyone that doesn’t go to ono munchies because they will have missed out on great food! We tipped him and he doesn’t even have a tip jar or anything! Mahalo!

So this little truck stand has amazing tacos. We had mahi mahi, coconut shrimp and chicken and they all were delicious. Unfortunately the pork was not done cooking, but it looked and smelled so good. They are simple on a single corn tortilla with cabbage, fresh salsa and an extra secret sauce. The pieces of fish are fresh and firm and very good portion size. The chicken has a nice glaze and the coconut shrimp are so full of flavor but are not greasy. So good! This is absolutely no frills so bring your napkins, maybe a wet wipe, and own drinks in case you don’t like what is offered in the cooler. Also we had a fresh coconut, which was almost as much as two tacos at $ 7. But it was delicious and let’s face it I am never going to machete open my own coconut any time soon, so it was worth it. When we google mapped this it took us about .5 mile past the pull out where the truck is located. Well worth the stop here. Also I would give this place 4.5 stars for the food. Just no napkins at all was kind of tough when serving finger food so I rounded down.

We turned off to look at the view and stumbled upon this gem! My wife decided on the mahi mahi tacos and despite the wait– she said it was the best fish taco she has had while on the island. $ 10 for a plate of two tacos seems steep– but it’s worth it! $ 7 for a fresh coconut was also a little on the steep side– but can’t beat the taste of fresh coconut. Next time we are going to try the coconut shrimp taco and the chicken taco.

Where is the 10 Star button to give the Awesome Food Truck/Trailer operated by local guy named Kawiki? I came to Hawaii almost four weeks ago for a four-day trip and I am still here. Paragraph. The food including barbecue chicken barbecued pork super awesome the most delicious strawberry papaya you’ve ever had in your life banana bread which I have yet to eat because it’s always sold out before I get there. In any event the a Loja that one will find in Hawaii is exemplified at this food truck not only in the quality of the food but the awesome personality of the operator. I would take this food over the food at four seasons or the Ritz Carlton any single day of the year and you don’t have to put a buzzer in your pocket to wait for your table. World-class awesome food world-class awesome views and an awesome bike ride if you got the energy to bicycle up there from Lahaina and back or you can cheat with the bus by putting your bicycle on the rack in front of the bus

Wasn’t planning on getting anything to eat til I smelled some yummy BBQ coming from the cute food truck! Loved the chicken tacos and the great conversations with Kawica the owner. The«w» in the name is pronounced with a «V» sound. It’s always cool to chat with the locals! Mahalo!

Best shrimp tacos I’ve ever had and the best meal I’ve had in Hawaii. The chef uses mahi mahi caught by his buddy and fruits and veggies home grown. To have coconut juice out of a coconut while you wait on your tacos, and then have the meat cut up is insane. A must stop in the road to Hana.

Driving up the west coast of Maui and pulled off to look at the view. Saw turtles, surfers and a grill on the back of a trailer grilling chicken, coconut shrimp and fish for fresh tacos. Was out of fish so went with two shrimp. Topped off with cabbage, grilled pineapple and mango salsa. Great view and great afternoon snack.

Great place for a delicious snack! And by that I mean you get an incredible view and the food is fresh and very tasty. The service is also warm and friendly. Even though they are outdoors on the side of a cliff, they make sure you won’t leave with sticky hands and provide water and soap. If available, along with the tacos, I highly recommend the fresh pineapple.

Super Ono eats! We visited this part of the island this morning and stopped at this spot on the way– The food was tremendous. So glad we stopped! The grilled chicken was tremendous. Crispy skin and still flavorful and juicy. Next time I’m back on the island I’ll definitely come by!

Delicious and beautiful location! My husband and I stopped off at this scenic overlook between snorkel spots. They ribs and chicken were still cooking so we had the $ 10 combo plate; 1 mahi-mahi taco and 1 coconut shrimp taco. I wish I would have had room for 2 more mahi-mahi tacos. The owner is super cool and friendly. He gave us some great tips on where to go next.
