One of my all-time favorite rides at Disneyworld. Even after the renovations to have the tie-ins to the movies, this is still a fantastic ride. I still recall the parts where the pirates were chasing the women(rather than the other way around), but aside from that change, it’s still a fun ride for guests of all ages!

First time in Disneyworld but had experience with the one in Los Angeles Disneyland. Was able To change me and my ladies fast pass from space mountain to this via the Disneyworld app and was excited to ride it to see if it’s any different to the LA one. Boarded the boat with a few minutes… And well that was it. Was stuck 20 seconds into the ride with the whole boat. Two other boats were in front of us and one boat behind us. Was stuck there for more than a hour as they were technical difficulty that shut down the whole ride. We in the dark in a boat surrounded by water and pirate decorations. Some people were becoming impatient, some found it amusing. 4 boats full of people were just chilling waiting to be rescued. For a second… It felt like a movie rescue scene but we all tried to make the positive out of it. The ride operators all came in via an emergency exit along with a bunch of fire fighters. We had to be escorted boat by boat, row by row because the gap from the boat to land was too far and it was surrounded by water. Was stuck on the 3rd boat so it. Took some time to eventually come out. Long story short… Escaped with the help of the fire department and was given 2 fast passes for any ride for each person as a sign of sorry. Ended up hopping on the Haunted mansion ride with the fast pass and kept a pass for souvenir. Didn’t actually get to ride the ride but just found the experience amusing… Hence the 4 stars… Checked the app to see if the Pirates ride was open… Nope still down for repairs. I’m sure it’s similar to LA’s… Most of the rides were.

This is a great ride for adults and bigger kids. We went with a toddler and the drop freaked him out a bit. we checked with the staff before we got on the ride and she assured us that it was great for all ages, Also the ride is very dark and the scary faces could freak out young children.

I love going on this every time we come to Disney. Memories… I had the pleasure of taking my wife on it for her first time =) They’ve upgraded and changed some things, adding in Jack Sparrow– Johnny Depp look alike animatronics and the same for barbosa. I especially like the large open sea area once you make the drop. Cannons firing, water basting, wind blowing… fun! A fast pass gets you past what can become a very long line. Also… see Amy S’s review. I second that!

Dead men tell no tales… This is a Disney classic. A must do! A trip to the Magic Kingdom is not complete until you sit in this slightly damp boat and see if a pirates life is for you! Yo ho, yo ho! Most of the animatronics aren’t most advanced you’ll ever see besides of course, the lifelike Jack Sparrows! When the ride first starts you go under a smoke wall with Davy Jones’ face on it while you hear the chant. «Dead men tell no tales.» Truly a chilling experience. The skeletal mermaid as you pass a shipwreck is a nice touch, very cool! While it may only be a three second drop, the drop is my favorite part! You can hear the other boats in front as the scream at the drop and even though I know it is a slight fall, it still gives me chills and that anxious feeling of when it will be my turn to go down! It is said that there are only three Jack Sparrows in this ride but if you ever see a fourth, it is Johnny Depp himself making an appearance! I’ve never had this happen but it doesn’t stop me from counting every time! The line can get pretty long at times but it is an inside queue with air conditioning — I’ll take it to get out of the Florida heat!
