Los Primos

Been eating here (dinner only) at least twice a month for quite a while — food has always been consistent and good.
A week ago I ordered, and paid for, two (2) pounds of carnitas for pick up at 7:30 AM today, 01÷27÷16 on my way to work — was told I would get 14 tortillas and salsa with the order. I arrived at 7:40 AM 01÷27÷16 to pick up the order. When I stated I was there to pick it up, the guy behind the counter stared at me like a deer in headlights… he obviously had no idea what I was there to pick up. Between him and the cook, they spoke to each other in Spanish and neither of them would turn around to face me or tell me what was happening. I had to ask 4 times, to the back of the counter dude’s head, since he wouldn’t turn to face me, ‘where is my order’…they forgot about it, didn’t know about, or couldn’t read the order… all of a sudden there was 2 pounds of carnitas on the griddle…(domino effect — their screw up caused me to be late for work). No apology. No We’re sorry. Nothing… zero…
And to top it all off, when I got the carnitas to the luncheon at work, it was pink undercooked pork. Disgusting.
I need to lower my standards and expectations, or go elsewhere…
This was my last interaction with the place. I will not be patronizing the place again.
My suggestion is no one patronize the place. especially if those two clowns from this morning are running the show…

The best Mexican food ever! Love their monster burritos and carne asada fries. Basically everything is great here and the workers are give amazing customer service ;D

Once again a complete disappointment! I use to go here for their breakfast burritos. Now I refuse! There is no consistency at this place. I always order mine with egg whites and 50% of the time the lazy cook tells me he doesn’t have egg whites! I have spoken with the manager before and they promise that they will talk to the cooks and make my food they way I like it. Don’t be tricked by thinking you will get an egg white burrito. It all depends on the cooks mood. I will never eat at this place again until they get someone in there that doesn’t over promise and under deliver to the customer! What happened to making food the way the customer likes it??? Not here!

The Carnitas and Chile Verde burritos are large and delicious. don’t look for any décor, this place is inside a shell gas station, LOL. the fried chilies on the salsa bar are XXX hot. I love the mild salsa too. don’t miss this take out place for authentic reasonably priced Mexican food.

Viva Mexico ! Los Primos is good, they were really good years ago but still good. They have the closest to Taqarera style in Foothill. There super burritos can feed two people for under $ 10 bucks. They have Menudo every day which is weird, especially since I was told its fresh homemade. My friend who is from mexico swears its canned but likes it and gets it every time. We eat here once a week sometimes twice. We like it. One thumb up sometimes two.

Best Mexican food in the area. Yummy tortillas, which is the most crucial ingredient to any burrito. The grilled serranos at the salsa bar are my favorite.

I’m not one to judge a book by its cover or food by its location, but this place was overhyped by my coworkers and lived up to my poor expectations of it.
I ordered the” monster” fries and it was was child size, like food for ants. The guac had no flavor, fries were soggy, and meat was severely overcooked. It was probably the most disappointing serving of fries I have ever had in my entire life. I don’t think i’ll be coming back to give the other items a chance.
To put the cherry on top, I’m not a big fan of a place that cleans with chemicals while simultaneously cooking, and that’s exactly what happeded on my visit.

Great food for the price, even have free chips and salsa. Nice and friendly customer service.

Best Taquitos outside of San Diego?
Seriously, I have a hard time finding good taquitos outside of San Diego but this place fills that need. My only complaint is they skimp on the guacamole and cheese. Other than that, this is the place to go.

Dank burritos, dank tacos, dank everything. Everything on the menu here is dankness.

I’ve been going to Los Primos on and off for years and never had a bad experience. I used to brag to friends about getting a pretty good gas station burrito. No more. For the second time this month, I’ve thrown the food away rather than eat it it was so bad. The first time was a carnitas burrito that was one of my favorites. The port was so dried out and was beyond crispy in parts, it was like leather. Today I got two chicken tacos and they were so saturated in grease, the chicken dry and the shell so hard, they ended up in the trash.
Until I start seeing new management or a tons of 4 and 5 star Unilocal reviews, I’ll be staying away.

I was a little hesitant to try this place at first because it is inside of a gas station. I am so glad I gave it a chance, because their food is amazing. They have the best breakfast burritos, and they are huge! They’re a little pricier than you would expect, but it’s totally worth it!

Save your money I only gave a star because I had to. Ordered a breakfast burrito and absolutely no flavor came through. Potatoes bland, flour tortilla was not heated (who could screw up a tortilla). Little cheese and eggs, 80% potatoes. This place was great a few years ago, but something has changed. Save your money.

I was a fan of this place’s breakfast burritos until this recent announcement on the OC Register about the Shell stations it’s located in & their «cockroach problem». Hopefully this doesn’t affect Los Primos:

This place was recommended to me by my coworker who is an eater. He said that this place is good, and that I would like it. I was like, cool, I’m going to try it.
It’s only been twice that I came to get something to this place. I love Mexican; I meant the food, who doesn’t. As always, Mexican place, I would always look for and order the cheesy, meaty, creamy, oily, carne asada fries, which I did on both encounters. The first time, I was so disappointed. The fries for some reason were cut so big, I mean, they were large, like my fingers. Some other Mexican place I’ve been, have sexy tiny cut fries, not this place.
I like my fries golden, and this place just didn’t have that. Everything else though was good, the carne, cheese, avocado, and sour cream.
Another day I was craving for Mexican, and when I crave for Mexican, I like to eat that meaty, creamy thing. And so, I wanted to give them a second chance, I came here, I ordered same thing, this time, my fries looked golden, I was like ummm, impressive. But then, what went wrong was there was too tiny pieces of meat, barely see the cheese, and the white cream was like only two or three pumps or shots, or whatever you call it. I like my Mexican to be creamy, meaty, cheesy and straight– (meaning the fries are not saggy.)
This place is decent; the workers are very hard working, keep up the good work guys. Thrive.

I dropped by today for a quick bite. The thought I’m getting Mexican food in a gas station does not faze me at all for I know what awaits me. I was surprised to see a different menu than I remembered. Ordered a grilled burrito and it is good. They even accommodated my request to put salsa in my burrito. Thanks. Very happy to find out they now serve menudo everyday. Only when I was about to leave I saw this month’s special: original monster burrito for $ 5. I need to come back soon.

Even though the location is a little strange, being inside the quick mart in the Shell station, the food is really good quality. The chili relleno burrito is excellent! You can get it to go and be on your way in just a few minutes. Often, we call in our order from work. That makes it even faster.
The machaca breakfast burrito in the morning is awesome and can easily be split between two people. It’ll fill you up for hours.
Definitely this is a place to try if you are in a hurry, or want something to go. There are a few tables for seating but I prefer to just take the food to go, since eating in a gas station feels a little cramped to me.

It’s slightly odd to find a Mexican fast food at a gas station. I guess it’s just a hole-​in-​a-​wall!
The two things I’ve gotten here is the Monster Torta. Gross. It had so much crap and nothing delicious. There were huge chunks of disgusting sausages too. I’ve had way better Tortas. Then the california burrito… definitely not good. No flavor! On top of that, their pico de gallo was spoiled!
I might drive a little further to get Mexican food. This place wasn’t worth it.

Turns out that this little place inside the Shell Gas Station on Rancho and Bake in Foothill Ranch has awesome breakfast burritos. I’d say they are the best in the area, by far, because they are: 1. not from a fast food place, 2. made by hand with actual ingredients, and 3. usually made quickly because nobody goes there.
The breakfast burrito I ordered was about six bucks but was large size and had chunks of ham and bacon, along with real cheese and egg. This place is worth the stop on the way out of town if you’re looking for a breakfast burrito.

Great mexican food at very affordable prices. Do not be turned off by the fact that this location is located inside the gas station. They have great food from taco, nachos, burritos, starters all the way to burgers and combo meals. The staff is helpful and the food is fresh and fast.
I will definitely come back here again.
