Good food but this location has the slowest service and they never get the order right. I waited so long one day the manager gave me my food for free because he saw me standing there forever

This place was great, had to wait a little extra due to the staff forgetting about an order I placed… Not only were they fast about it… When I opened up my box of my 2 piece box there were 2 extra pieces of chicken!!! This place is always busy so I appreciate the customer service, THATSHOWYOUDOIT!

Worst el pollo loco I’ve ever been to. Started with bad customer service. Then the food was looking below par. Then noticed the salsa bar looks gross. Food tasted soggier than normal. I’ve been here 3x and it’s about the same everytime. Bad. And no horchata like some other locations have.

We order family meals from here when we’re lazy and don’t want to cook dinner. My Mom and I recently picked up dinner here after a movie. We got the eight piece chicken family meal as usual with a side of broccoli, rice, coleslaw and flour tortilla. The drive thru took a while, but we got a good, fast and easy dinner for all the family for a little more than $ 20. I really like the chicken here. The skin is my favorite, it’s not always super crispy, but it’s fatty and flavorful. I like to dip the chicken in their house pico de gallo, gives it a nice kick and the tomato always tastes fresh. My Mom loves the avocado salsa, it’s creamy and spicy. The coleslaw is good too, the dressing is creamy yet thin. The rice is good, but it was a little undercooked, there were some crunchy bits in it. The broccoli is bland and kinda dry, don’t think we’ll order that again. I only had one tortilla, I reheated it and wrapped it around some chicken and pico de gallo. It was really dry, it needed more salsa, not that great. It’s just a fast and easy meal, nothing real special.

Okay, I work very close to this El Pollo Loco and my husband is a fan of the chicken so every once in a while we will go and grab something. A couple of years ago I left a review expressing my disdain for their service. I stand by my previous review. We decided to get one of those family meal deals and yet again they did not put the entire order in the bag. We left without realizing. I GET that this is just a little chicken place that could probably care less that I didn’t get my side of corn or macaroni and cheese, BUT that being said. it has been a couple of years and you people still cant get your crap together?! My suggestion to you chicken people is to HIRE A NEWMANAGER, TRAINYOUREMPLOYEES, ANDCHECKTHEORDERSBEFOREYOUSENDTHEMOUT… Oh and stop dropping my stuff on the floor in the drive through. mmmm k?

They usually get my order wrong 50% of the time at this location. I won’t pull away now until I check every item. Had a friend order for me yesterday and of course they got that wrong too. Haven’t had any problems with the food only people who can’t make orders properly

Love the food here although one time I did get sick. My orders are messed up probably 1 out of 5 times, so make sure you check your order before leaving. Anyway the workers are normally really nice about fixing it. I guess this location is so-so, but not even close to the«best» el pollo loco I’ve been too.

I normally wouldn’t even consider writing a review for a fast food joint — but this place has just continually degraded throughout the years. Drive-thru window people(aside from one) are rude, don’t seem to have a firm grasp on English as a spoken language, and time and time again get orders wrong — sometimes, as in today’s case, overcharging you(I am just going to throw this crap away as I have no idea what surprises they put in my bag today). Heed the low reviews and point your car elsewhere. Don’t be a moron like me and do yourself a favor and go to Chipotle.

My shortest review :( Not again! One star for unsanitary conditions. I came here for lunch yesterday and soon after could not leave the bathroom. I had not eaten anything else that day so don’t tell me I got sick from somewhere else. This particular location gave me stomach cramps the last time I visited, and I will not be back again. I have not had issues from other locations.

Idk about this location… Normally I come here for the horchata because it’s something different from soda but this location doesn’t have it, then their tortilla machine is broke? So they can’t make quesadillas. What happend to doing it the real way? The food was good and how I orderd it though. I got the 2 piece meal with corn and rice for sides. I like the guac salsa they have. Its one of a kind.

I’ve had a terrible terrible terrible experience at this location very rude and disrespectful staff and The employee would refuse taking two separate cards as form of payment. Then to top it off the chicken is dried out, They through the salsa container in the bag without a lid on it and it spilled all over everything else in the bag for 2 meals. I was in Today Wednesday 9−9−15 at 930pm. The closing staff is awful! I really want a refund for the terrible service I have gotten at this location because I support a lot of El pollo loco locations and eat it frequently but have had the worst experience to me never wanting to step foot back into there franchise. This location gives all the other stores a bad name.

Mehhh. The last 3 threes times I’ve been there my order has been wrong and they forget the salad dressings /salsa and food from the order. Tonight I went and ordered a churro and they forgot to put the sugar on it. Wahhhhhh :(like eating plain rice cracker. I kept going back because it’s so close to my house. Okay I have learned my lesson… no more!

I’ve eaten at EPL for as long as I can remember. Many times I’m surprised at how much I enjoy everything that goes into the dining experience, from the colorful interior design, to the clever little marketing reminders, to, of course, the tasty chicken that the franchise is famous for. Unfortunately today was the kind of day I hoped would never come– my 2 young kids got sick from eating at THISONELOCATION(I’ll spare the gory details). The thing that gets me is that there were clues that this was likely to happen. Sadly, it is normal to be served shriveled up, overcooked pieces of chicken(at this particular location) so we avoid it. But it’s conveniently located close to where we live and today we caved in and gave it another chance. Big Mistake! I returned the meal and notified the asst. Manager. In return I got my $ 10 back and a lecture that food poisoning takes 24 hours to hit. Hey. I’m no doctor, but if I drank something toxic I imagine I would know something was wrong much sooner than 24 hours. And in the case of young children, whose bodies are much more sensitive, would it really take a full day for their stomachs to reject or flush toxins? I hate to admit that this is the longest review I’ve ever written, so far and I’m sad that the occasion is a bad experience; this doesn’t usually happen. Oh yes, I’ll still be an EPL customer FO’ LIFE! But the location on Lake Forest and Rancho pkwy won’t ever see my dollars again. Beware, locals. Beware! –Law

I’m disappointed with this franchise. I purchased a classic chicken burrito combo. The burrito was extremely on the small side and had barely any chicken in it. Basically it was filled with a lot of rice. I won’t be back.

When they get things right, this El Pollo Loco serves up tasty chicken that is hard to beat. However, more often than not, things do not go right. But they have so much business(there’s not any El Pollo Locos nearby), I don’t think they care! The last time I went there, the drive-thru person was unwilling to make any substitutions or changes on the $ 3012-piece family deal that I was ordering. I’ve requested this specific substitution more than 20 times without incident. Needless to say I spent my money elsewhere that night. I’ve also had similar difficult experiences with the drive thru as other reviewers, including routinely having the staff ignore salsa requests, in both type and quantity. They’ve also gotten the order wrong on more than one occasion. I really wonder what is happening with this place since it is high volume and always busy. It would seem that they should be able to get their act together. If you want to roll the dice, give this place a shot and there’s a small chance it will be good. If you are looking for a sure thing, go somewhere else!
