One of my husband’s favorite places to stop while at the lake!. Good chili dogs! They sure could add a port-a-pot for customers! The man before us was pretty upset about no public restroom facilities.

Spent a ton of time in port clinton growing up, and went here a couple dozen times. Still to this day will stop in for a «netty dog». The new favorite for us is the chili cheese fries, and we seem to get them instead for last few years. In my opinion this is the very best chili dog around, and if not, the chili itself has to be a runner up in anyone’s book. Its always fun to pull up in the back, go order, and sit at the picnic tables and eat on location. Oh ya, some of the best milkshakes too!

Awesome place on the side of the road to grab a hot dog, fry and a milkshake after a full day on the lake. Chili dogs are the best in NE Ohio and a big side of chili cheese fries and you will not be disappointed.

What an unexpected treat. This is an old fashioned hot dog stand with a limited menu. Beware, cash only! The menu consists of hot dogs, chili dogs, fries and chili fries. There is also a variety of drinks and ice cream. We tried chili dogs and chili dogs with cheese. It was simple fare that we really enjoyed. The French fries were actually some of the best I’ve ever had. I imagine that this is because they were served the second they came out of the fryer. The portion of fries was huge, although two of us managed to eat them all. The cost of three chili dogs and fries was $ 8. A perfect lunch.

We stopped at nettys for some chili dogs on our way in town to see the lake my husband got the chilli dogs which were great and I got the chilli cheese fries not only did they give me a generous serving of chilli cheese fries but they were delicious lots of chilli and melted cheese we also got an orange shale which was probably the best I’ve ever had it tastes like a dream sickle from my childhood we did have to wait a bit for our food but once we are it we understood why it was packed for dinner and the location is great because you can take your food and go eat by the lake and watch the sailboats come through all in all I say it’s a great experience for the family and I highly recommend it for everyone to try at least once it has an old dairy bar feel friendly staff and great food how can you go wrong with that!

If your out for the afternoon and ya wanna keep it PG with the kids stop here. Great old-school, roadside chili-dog place with fries and shakes. Reminds me of Tubbys drive-in from Hollywood knights(without Newbaum Turk and the Iron Box twins). Cheap prices make it easy to pig out and not break the bank. I didn’t see a public toilet though, so if ya feel bubble-guts comin’ on ya better head for cover…

Famous chili dogs with cheese are a great way to fuel up for an evening of paddle boarding on the lake. Fries with cheese added come in one size but there are plenty to share. Bring cash!

Outstanding chilli dogs! I was pleasently suprised to see they had Vernor’s! If you make the stop I suggest a chilli dog with everything and a root beer cooler.

I don’t know if I was just that hungry or if these chili dogs were that good, but please visit if you’re in the area. I loved these dogs so much that the gentleman and I went back twice during our two-day trip. Shakes are pretty awesome too, we got the banana plus malt and strawberry banana plus malt; both versions were delicious. Lastly, the lime slushie was a nice, tart accompaniment to the cheesy, meaty chili dogs.

Ah… Nettys. Our favorite place to stop when we make it back to Port Clinton. I was suprised to see such a low rating when I looked for this here on Unilocal!I’ve always loved this place! My wife worked here for a summer and the owners are good, local people and care very much about their customers. We’ve never had a bad experience, except when we left our chili cheese fries sit for 15 minutes before eating them and they got soggy — not Netty’s fault though! These are the absolute best Chili dogs I have ever had. The reviewer who said theirs were cold… I wish you would have taken them back to the counter and asked the owners to replace them… I’m certain they would have! The dogs, when correctly made(usually are) are hot, steamy, and tender, with warm buns and sweet chili sauce. You can get them with mustard and onions(standard) or without. They also serve fries, made fresh for every order, and you can get cheese or chili, or both on them! Their ice cream is also fantastic! Very creamy, as it is Toft’s ice cream at this location. Toft’s for those who don’t know is a local ice creamery based out of Sandusky, OH. We always love to make the special trip out here when we’re home and then head down to the Marblehead Lighthouse. It sure makes for a great afternoon!

If you love Skyline chili, you will really love Netty’s. Protip: hot dogs should not be white. Extra star, because it is very hard to screw up ice cream.

Great Chili dogs. I like that they do not use sloppy Joe meat like most ice cream places.

We were out touring the area as we waited to check into our hotel, so we stopped for some chili dogs as a late lunch. I got one chili, one regular with mustard and ketchup. The husband got two chili dogs with everything but mustard. We got a thing of fries to split. Strawberry shake for me, chocolate for him. 1. Cash only. Thank goodness the husband stopped to get some before we left our town. 2. No bathrooms. Really? Even for paying customers? 3. Few tables, lots of bugs. 4. Not a huge menu, actually very limited, but for a small stand, that’s understandable. The wait wasn’t long but the dogs were still cold in the middle. Even the chili was just lukewarm in temperature. Not sure how they’re cooked because they weren’t wet dogs, hot and steamy inside, like the ones on the street corners of NYC. The fries were hot, though. Shakes were good, too. Definitely wouldn’t make it a special trip if we headed back to the area, though. Nothing more special than Stewarts or A&W, and nothing to write home about.

Netty’s is my Holy Grail of Chili Dogs. Picture a Summer dairy stand that serves chili dogs. Chili dog + chocolate shake + fries = most worth it tummy ache ever. The stand is seasonal, the service is kinda slow and the choices are few. But chances are if you’re here, you’re on vacation — and you don’t really care. I guess one woman’s 1-star«greasy beyond belief» is another woman’s 5-star«greasy beyond belief»! If you enjoy grease, vacation, chili dogs and dairy, make your way on down to Netty’s.

Ugh, this was nasty! I think there is something about northern Ohio that says chili needs to be the consistency of Alpo and greasy beyond belief. A friend of mine grew up here and raved about this place and every time we tried to go, it was closed since it’s seasonal. We finally caught it today. We got a cherry slushy, root beer float, 2 chili dogs and 1 chili cheese fries to split. I unwrapped my dog and the wax paper was DRIPPING in orange grease and soaking everything. I took one bite and looked at the hubby and we both kind of winced a little. We were famished though so I scraped the chili off and left the onions, cheese and mustard which was actually decent but again, not roasted. What is up with that. Buy the little roll-y thing they have at ball parks and ROAST your hot dogs people! Even gas stations have them! We took a bite of chili cheese fries and the fries were awful. We threw them away. The cherry slushy was good though. The root beer float was assembled completely wrong. They filled the glass with root beer then capped it with soft serve and it practically exploded from the pressure. Not the float the hubby had been dreaming of all week. On the upside, it was $ 13 something for all of it so at least you’re not wasting TOO much money. Really disappointing.
