Great burger, great Unilocal coupon. Great selection of different options on your burger. Laid back, local atmosphere.

I heard about this place and that they had good breakfast burritos from a couple of people. I went this morning and there were 2 people ahead of me in the drive thru. I waited for 15 minutes without a move in the line– no joke. I left and went to Sonic and got a burrito immediately. The breakfast burritos at Sandeez may in fact be good, but I don’t know it yet and you should be prepared to wait if you want to find out.

So, at first glance, looks like a down home, handmade burger place. Roll up top the drive through, can hardly read the prices that are sharpied onto tape, and a sign that the credit card machine is down. Go over to the gas station that is adjacent and get cash back with a fee, come back and order 2 burger baskets. Wait 10 min, get the food. The fries taste like they were cooked in very old oil, and are completely unsalted, like, no salt at all. Very weird. One burger was hot, the other, cold as if one was pre made and one made fresh when we ordered. Will not be returning.

A little pricey but Ive never had a bad meal here. The breakfast tacos are HUGE and soooooo good. The burgers are made to order and come with the best fresh cut fries. The folks behind the counter are totally rockin!

Went here because of the suggestion of a friend. Reminds me a of good ol’ fashion 50’s diner. Food is great; waite staff very friendly. Ordered the chicken breast sandwich and my pardner ordered her hamburger; both excellent, meat was fresh. We’ll be back for more.

If you like to wait 30 min for cold hamburgers cooked fresh, this is your place! We waited for over 30 min for our order, when it arrived it was not off the grill fresh! Instead it was cold and nasty.

Service is horribly slow and staff could care less. Food is greasy spoon, cane for breakfast, and orders come out in random order. If you have alot of time to kill in a dirty hoke, the sandeez is for you. Bring tums!

Sandy’s has killer burgers, perfect fries & such a warm, welcoming staff! They are almost across the street from My house which I love because I always know I can get quality food quickly when we need it. I hope they are a Lakeway fixture that is here to stay!

My burger had the thinnest patty I have ever seen on a hamburger. If the burger tasted good I could let that go, but the burger simply was not good. They are generous with fries; unfortunately the fries are not good.

Pretty darned good mom n’ pop style burger stand. Excellent burger, especially with sautéed onions. The interior has a certain funkiness which I found fun — for example the posters and maps of the Lakeway area dating from the 50’s! Of special mention is the board with the different named dishes — kudos to whomever came up with the Breaking Bad referenced New Mexican Green Chile Cheeseburger, also known as the ‘Heisenburger’. I imagine this burger standing up on the tray and demanding, «Say my name!» This place gets 4 stars on the ‘CTJ Scale’, as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a meal here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK being seen eating here by Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus’ Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn’t have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn’t have my penultimate supper here, either.

The food is average, and as long as you stick to the basic menu on the wall, the prices are on par with Austin. They have this«Bucket List» of burgers which are overpriced… they’re charging an arm and a leg for a burger that pales in comparison to places like Hopdoddy… Hopdoddy’s burgers have quality local beef with gourmet toppings. Sandeez has taken a regular frozen-looking burger patty and added stuff to it, then upped the price. The quality is just not there. But let’s talk about the atmosphere. UGH. It’s described by others as a «hipster» joint that’s a throwback to old hippie Austin. Yeah, until you look a little closer, and start noticing all of the racist political cartoons stuck on the wall, Don’t Tread of Me flag hanging outside, NRA stickers, and other bumper stickers that are insulting and rude. Completely negative, and completely OFFENSIVE. Hasn’t anybody ever told the business owner that you don’t bring politics into your business, and that«hate» is not a decorating style? You risk offending half of your customers, and especially since you’re here in Austin, you’re probably offending at least 60−70% of your customers or more. We’ve tried to ignore the stickers for awhile, but we just made the decision not to go here anymore because it just makes us feel yucky. We’ll go spend our dining dollars with other businesses where we feel good about going. We’d prefer to avoid chains and support local Austin businesses, but supporting this restaurant just doesn’t feel good anymore.

I just found a diamond in the rough! Sweet. Or should I say hot, the Hell Burger, and this restaurant. Sandeez has soul and it’s as orginal as they come. Killer find. Businesses like this make Austin… well, Austin.

So pleasantly surprised at how good this place is. the selection alone makes your mouth water, but the food was darn good! It’s a little pricey for a lunch spot, but hey, you’re in Lakeway. I love the fries. Reminds me of P Terry’s. I had the Hell Burger. It was like a patty melt but with life in it.

I love this place. The bucket list of burgers is fantastic and they have the option of sweet potato fries or tots. The Hell Burger is off the charts! I have been coming here as a tradition every couple of weeks with my 15 month son, Fox. We share some fries and a milk shake while eat a burger. It’s a fun atmosphere. The shakes are handmade and the strawberry is by far my favorite. I have to try their breakfast out sooner or later!

NFL Sunday and I’m KILLINGIT in fantasy football… I wanted a bacon cheeseburger, and I’d been meaning to try Sandeez for awhile! I can’t afford to go back to this place, even if I had liked it :($ 13.45 for a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a shake is too much. So I approach the unassuming drive thru and look at the large menu. The burgers are listed as «buckets» which made me think baskets, so the $ 6 price seemed fair. Once I arrived at the order window, I was, um, slightly bothered by the appearance of the employee working. There was just a lot of unappetizing things going on with this individual(dirty daisy dukes, generally unkept appearance). I placed my order anyway and was shocked when I was read back the price of $ 13.45. I chose to pay with plastic, and I waited. I checked in via Unilocal and was notified of $ 2 off! Stoked since I was disappointed with the price. The milkshake came first, and I told Daisy(not her name) about my $ 2 off… she said it was too late to apply the discount, c’mon man!!! On the milksake… Very strange flavor(strawberry) then I just realized it was cheap/bad flavoring and was disappointed. Then my credit card and receipt, which I had to sign… TIPROWWITHSUGGESTEDTIPAMOUNT? In a drive thru? Please… don’t put me in that awkward mental trap o off«if I don’t tip enough, what will happen to my food I have received yet???» I don’t like that. Then finally arrived my food and I was on my way home to watch my fantasy win, even if my dining choice was losing the first half. I dipped in the bag and grabbed some fries… crispy, natural, not enough salt for my taste, but good. At home I dug in the bag to find my burger covered in literally 20 ketchup packets… c’mon man! Don’t make ME be so wasteful just because you are. Burger was already cooling down even though I’m 4 minutes grim this place… but it was actually a pretty tasty(very thin patty) burger. I like it with bacon and cheese, without those things I would have been very bored. In closing, I doubt I’ll be back. Sandeez milkshakes definitely do not bring all the boys to the yard.
