Jimmy John’s

the best in standard sandwich chains for taste and value. Wish there were more locations in Long Beach and the location near the downtown police station was open longer. Their hours are ridiculous but maybe that’s a developer imposed rule… Closes by 19:00.

I tried a number five yesterday, my first visit at Jimmy Johns. The sandwich was delicious bread fresh and soft… Thanks Bryce for the excellent customer service.

I’m from the Midwest, and we have about 15 Jimmy John’s Locations in my city in Nebraska. So I was definitely stoked when I saw that this Jimmy John’s was here. I love the bread, the toppings (which are loaded up), the sauces, it’s all divine.
If you have never had Jimmy John’s you have to have it. Jersey Mike’s, Subway, anything else is just subpar.
My only reason for rating this particular establishment is the customer service, don’t get me wrong nice people. But I’ve never had someone tell me (oh that’s not my job, you have to go over here). Like, dude I’m asking you for a cup for some water, you are an employee behind the counter, I’m sure you can grab me one right quick.
I also don’t like they just leave the sandwhich there without yelling anything, and expect you to expedite your order. What’s the point of asking to-​go or for here, if they make you bag, tag, and napkin your own sandwiches?

LOVE this place!!! I was here a few weeks ago and ordered off the catering menu for a potluck at work and it was a hit! I didn’t call ahead and didn’t know quite what I wanted (sorry guys), but they helped me through everything. The sandwiches were made so fast I barely had to wait! Not to mention, I was given a nice slice of bread to enjoy while the sandwiches were being made. Overall, it’s a clean establishment with great people and delicious sandwiches, what more can you ask for?

My coworker mentioned this place to me a few days ago. I love jersey mikes but this place is just as good! I’m stuck working alone and couldn’t go out for a lunch break, so I was on Unilocal looking for places that deliver. I called and Daniel took my order. Since it was my first time trying JJ’s he helped me create my sub, it was delivered in less than 10mins! Definitely trying jimmy john’s again.

I don’t really know what to make of this place, Most importantly: one the place was nice/​clean and the people were friendy. Lost of customers coming in and some buying bulk sandwiches. But I have to say the sandwich was really skimping. I did get the lettuce wrap so I am missing the bread but the contents were… meh. Also all the avocado was in the bottom. Two when I got to my destination I had to go :-(twice! I’m a very iron gut kinda gal so I can eat a whole slew of stuff and not go (for day, tmi), but man did that sandwich have the opposite effect. I’m not saying that taste-​wise, it wasnt good. It was tasty for what is was, but missing something special yes. Also that one dollar sign for cheapness is deceiving, more like $$. If I had to choose Subway or Jimmy Johns, I’d say go to Subway.

I heard good reviews of this place from some relatives and decided to give it a try. My husband ordered the #9 (Italian night) and I had the #10 (forgot the name but basically is was roast beef). With two medium soda, chip and triple chocolate cookie, it came out to $ 22 and some change. The sandwiches were freshly made and the customer service is fast. The sandwhiches are pretty good, the bread was different and it didn’t get soggy like some other sub places. The cookie was awesome! I recommend those that are into chocolate to get the triple chocolate chip cookie which has white and milk chocolate. I would come here again if a crave for a sub.

I got the Italian Night Club and asked for hot peppers with it. You have to ask for the hot peppers, it doesn’t automatically include them. It’s really good but not the best club sandwich I ever tasted. The quality is better than subway. It tastes fresher than subway.
The customer service here is great. If you’re unfamiliar with the menu just ask and they’re happy to explain. The explained what extras I can ask for a particular sandwich I wanted. Five stars for service.

This review is more for Jimmy John’s in general I guess, because it was the first time I’ve ever been. This location was good, service was fine, bathroom was clean, all that good stuff.
But their bread is so good!!! It really makes the sandwich. There was maybe a little too much mayo, so maybe next time I’ll tell them not to put any one. But in comparison to Subway, wayyy better. Ingredients seem heartier, fresher, and bread is really good. I’m sure I’ll be back.

1^st impressions are everything and they did impress me on my 1^st visit here. 3.5 STARS for this place.
It’s better than Subway, Quiznos, and most little sandwich shops that I’ve been to.
With tax for sandwich, chips and a drink… comes out to $ 9 bucks.
The bread makes the sandwich here for sure. No doubt.

First time here and oh my gosh! They weren’t kidding when they said it was better than subway! I came in to try the place out and Aidan helped recommend some choices since I didn’t know what to get (and I am a vegetarian). There weren’t many choices but one was all it took! Their veggie gormet is delicious! It looks so ordinary and plain but it definitely was not. Thank you Aidan for being helpful, friendly, and courteous to my first experience here. Customers, you won’t be disappointed!

I have to give this location props– ordered a party platter for the office, 10 sandwiches worth. My order was ready on time. I was impressed that they kept the tuna separate from the other sandwiches, gave me condiments and helped me to the car.
And the sandwiches were great, in particular their turkey and avocado sandwiches! I would give this sandwich a 3 – 4 and the customer service a 10! Expect to spend 7 – 10 per person. Looking forward to coming back!

Their Italian is BOMB. The service is solid, friendly staff the place gets really packed during lunch and there’s not a whole lot of seating but the Italian is always a good bet. Salty, fresh and tasty as heck.
The roast beef is also good, but could use a little more beef. I’ve also had their Turkey avocado (I don’t remember all their creative names but that was ok as well.) but nothing amazing to warrant a visit…
Overall I’m giving this place 5 stars for their Italian sandwich… oh and their bathrooms are awesome!

This was my first experience with Jimmy Johns and it will also be my last. My wife and I got different sandwiches so we could each try something different. We we’re the only people in the store at the time and there were about 5 employees present.
The service was OK, though the cashier was friendly, he didnt go out of his way to impress us with service.
The sandwiches were fresh, that cant be denied, though theres really nothing special going on here. I got the Pepe and my wife went for the Vito. The filler to bread ratio was way off, too much bread. Not even Subway is so stingy with their ingredients.
All in all, I was disappointed with my experience and I’ll continue to go to Jersey Mikes for my sammich needs.

This was just a very funny experience…
We were told if we get the combo since we were getting 2 drinks it would be cheaper… Opposed to just getting the drinks. So we did… Paid 3.30 extra for a cookie and pickle and it dropped the combo price by 40 cents… Lol
I got the beach club with roast beef, sprouts, Dijon mustard and oregano… All of it besides the roast beef was forgotten… I got up to get a side of Dijon mustard… They said they couldn’t give me a side… Lol… Really? Come on…
I heard they just opened… Maybe they just need some more training… I’ll come back one of these days and see if things have improved… The food was good tho.

Fabulous, quick service. The sandwiches were done before I even put my money away. This place blows Togos, Quiznos, Subway, etc., way out of the water. I won’t be going to any other sandwich spot. This one is a little out of my way, but I’ll suffer through it.

The service is the stand out here, today was my second visit and the excellent service was consistent with my first both visits I ordered the tuna sandwich the 1^st time the #3 and today the #15 which supposedly has double the tuna you can judge for yourself after seeing the thin layer of tuna on my #15 today.
The tuna is awesome, flavored with chopped celery and onions some of the best chain tuna I’ve ever had. Remnisant of my fave tuna from Mikes deli on Slauson. The thickly sliced wheat bread or hoagie style white bread are both baked fresh daily and delicious.
Soooo back to todays sandwich i paid the extra to get the extra tuna and seems like i received less than the original, i thought maybe i was just being greedy since im sooo in love with the flavor of this tuna but pictures dont lie people, notice the 6 slices or more of chees though lol.
Any how, bottom line will be returning, wont be paying for extra tuna.

I would give this place a 2 ½ star review. Can’t argue that everything is not fresh, because it is. My issue is the slight lack of the flavor profile.
Whether you have any number of their subs and sandwiches, veggie or meat sandwiches, the only condiments they have is mustard, Dijon mustard, mayo (which is kind of plain) vinaigrette, and oil and vinegar that’s it… And only one kind of cheese, provolone. How ridiculous is that.
If they only had additional condiments for their sandwiches that would make it «pop» a little more, like sweet hot mustard, a honey mustard, thousand Island, or some kind of a special sauce they created,
It was put together well, but it just seemed rather simple in the personality department. No big deal, I don’t really understand the hype. But, would I recommend this place, I don’t think so.
Again, its not a bad place but there are better, even Subway is better, Because of the control you have over the sandwich and the variety of sauces to put on your sandwich.

These sandwiches were really good but togo’s will always have my heart. I got the billy club (good bread), it has roast beef and ham, cheese and lettuce and tomato. It was very good and very filling, but i was also disappointed there were no hot sandwiches and not too much variety. I thought they could use a soup option. I would definitely go back but i probably wouldnt crave them. Their décor is cute and the bathroom was funny.
The sandwiches came out just as quick as promised and accurately too. The service could be friendlier, though.
