Our first visit to Mitchell’s was great, we had a wonderful experience. Since we are part of the Landry club we decided to visit again. Our food was great again the second time but the service was awful. The waitress brought us appetizers and bread with no plates. We waited for her to stop by again but gave up waiting and I had to find plates myself in the dishes area. A different person served us our food(a manager? I’m not sure) and was very pleasant. The overall service was slow but we didn’t mind. When the bill came, I used my Landry card(which had some credit on it) and my credit card. When she came back with bill, she felt the need to point out to us that the gratuity listed was based on the total of the bill(not including the redemption of my Landry credits) which seemed offensive to us. First of all, a waitress/waiter should not be pointing out how much gratuity they are expecting. Secondly, this is not my first time eating at a restaurant — I know how to tip. Third, the manner in the way this happened made it seem like she thought we were incapable of realizing this. Aside from awful service on our second visit, we thought the food has been consistently good and hope to receive better service if we ever return again.

I come here often. But this time I ordered a steak. It was so burned that I couldnt enjoy the most tender part of a ribeye. What really ticked me off is that they didn’t do anything about it. It’s like OK whatever. I have seen time and time again when a restaurant thinks its on top of the world and we have enough customers. Add an attitude of «eat it or leave it» — things eventually hit a down slope. I have added 2 stars because the service was fine and they even tried to cover for the chef. Will not come back and will not recommend.

Being relatively new to the Lansing area, went to a lunch and a movie meetup, ended up trying this spot for lunch. Lots of room, tried the Baja Fish Tacos, which is blackened tilapia stuffed into soft flour tortillas with cabbage and cilantro-lime cream. Side of fries with that. Well prepared and tasty, so I decided to join their club(this is a Landry’s chain restaurant). Will be going again to try their other entrée choices.

Have had fine meals here in the past but this was a mediocre effort at best. Warm bread VERY sour sourdough. Fish and Chips were passable. Fish options were limited to tilapia, etc, so I opted for Crispy Chicken Parmesan. Chicken filet was crispy but no Parmesan flavor; naked angel hair pasta way overcooked and gummy. Sadly, the cheese garlic bread was the same sour sourdough. Last straw was that the minced green herb in the diced tomato garnish on presumably Italian Chicken Parmesan was — wait for it — not basil or parsley, but cilantro! One star because app would not accept 0 stars.

Nice casual restaurant. The seafood is fresh. I had the scallops and wanted to change the sides and that was not a problem. They were fresh and cooked perfectly. The lobster bisque was tasty and filling. The waitstaff knew the menu very well. She knew how items are cooked and all the ingredients. So helpful since I am on a restricted diet. Food came hot and quickly.

Portions were small for the price. Most of the food came from cans, not fresh. Overcooked and over priced.

The atmosphere is good. The service was alright. The lobster bisque soup was to die for but sadly that was the most exciting thing about my dinner. The main course came and my asparagus was undercooked, my MASHED potatoes had GIANT chunks of potatoes(which I like some chunks but not when it’s still half of a potato), and my fish was just ok. I had a cod stuffed with lobster and shrimp. Both the lobster and shrimp tasted like it came right out a frozen bag purchased from Walmart. The cod was chewy and unsatisfying. I would go there again, but for the restaurant’s name to be Mitchell’s Fish Market is misleading. It’s misleading because their steaks taste better than their seafood.

The seafood Americano was absolutely amazing great natural meal if you’re looking to stay on the healthy and DELICIOUS side. The roasted potatoes were so good and the scallops were amazing Lobster Mac was extra Rich as in almost too rich but that’s okay! The dessert trio super star was the bread pudding

Dined here as a part of a group dinner. Ordered the sea bass Shanghai style. The fish was delicious and the sauce was flavorful. The sautéed spinach that can with the meal also paired well with the sauce. Overall = Highly recommended!!!

We stopped in without a reservation during a snow storm. While the bar area appeared to be closed for the night, they were happy to bring us to a table. The servicer Mike was very attentive and the food was great. We started with the«Titanic Wedge» salad and it was one of the best I ever had. Served on an ice cold plate. I had the Bourbon Salmon, my friend had the American seafood and Mom had the stuffed Shrimp. I decided to order a side of the lobster Mac & cheese. The lobster Mac & cheese was mediocre at best in the world of Mac & Cheese,. We split a key lime pie and a mini shark fine pie for desert; both excellent. The coffee was served in a tall mug and was the best I’ve had in ages at a restaurant. I wish this restaurant was in my neighborhood, I would be there every week.

We were at Mitchell’s last night for my sister’s birthday. Sarah was our server & she was phenomenal! We were a table of people in their 80s, 60s, 50s &40s… one non-English speaker, one person with a cognitive impairment, and Sarah interacted & responded to us beautifully. The food was delicious… and Sarah really made the evening.

This place is good. We came here while on break and really enjoyed it. What a fantastical and quaint little restaurant. The scallops pasta was very good. I also enjoyed the atmosphere. The wait staff was professional and suggested good food. It was an amazing and festive experience. I highly suggest it. While it is a chain, it is one of the better ones. To my surprise it is owned by a New Orleans based company, Landrys, which I once went to when I was going to college in New Orleans. Good job buying this one Landrys! Keep it as good as the least one :)

Gave this restaurant a couple trys. It’s okay at best. My wife ordered wild mushroom as add on topping, it tasted like fermented milk. I would choose Bone Fish instead, it’s much better taste food and at a lower price point. Or go with Ocean Prime, at least that’s a true highend restaurant with high quality food.

We went to Mitchell’s to celebrate a friend’s graduation at MSU, so we wanted a special experience for him since he is not from the USA. Our server, Samantha, was great – warm, friendly and quick! I had the Seafood Cobb salad, a bit pricier than I usually would pay but with the succulent chunks of seafood, it was worth it. My hubby had the Bourbon Brown Sugar glazed Salmon, and shared a bite with me– it was terrific. Our grad seemed pleased with the Pecan Crusted Whitefish and he ate several loaves of the sourdough complimentary bread. We guess he didn’t eat much while studying for his finals! All around, it was a great time!

First time going to Mitchell’s for my boyfriend’s birthday. Very warm, welcoming service… Our waiter, Fred, was extremely kind and helpful. He was also around not too much, but not too little. just perfect. The food was delicious. I recommend the grilled tilapia topped with the crab and avocado pico. 4⁄5 star rating just because of the price.

The lobster bisque was delightful. I also tried the crunchy Thai shrimp salad, and it was out of this world. Would go there again as soon as I can.

I had been meaning to come here for quite some time, but hadn’t got around it until now. Until this past January, when it was purchased by Landry’s(who also owns chains such as Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, Rainforest Café, Morton’s The Steakhouse, McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood, among others) it was owned by Ruth Hospitality Group(AKA Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse). Being a fan of Ruth’s Chris I really wanted to get in here and get a feel for the joint. We started with the Jumbo Lump Crab Dip which was pretty tasty. Nice and creamy with a pleasant amount of artichoke and a prominent fresh crab flavor. The chips are claimed to be homemade, and perhaps they are, but there wasn’t anything above average about them. The wife got the Cajun Chicken Sandwich which was exactly as expected. A fair sized, moist chicken breast covered in your typical Cajun style seasoning and grilled and served on a nice brioche bun with Cheddar Cheese, lettuce, onions, and a spicy mayo. I ordered the Lobster and Shrimp roll BLT. Let me tell you: I LOVELOBSTERROLLS… which this was not. The title alone was enough to tip me off that I wouldn’t be getting a proper lobster roll given the presence of shrimp, tomato, and bacon, but I hoped that it would be close enough to satiate my love of the real deal. Well, it was good, but a proper Lobster roll, it was not. The shrimp didn’t detract or add to the experience. The bacon just overpowered the delicate flavor of the lobster. The bread was too thick and dense(brioche, again), and they went full on Leeeeeroy Jenkins with the celery. Again, it was pretty good, but this is a clear cut case where less would have been more. The atmosphere was nice and I really like the open view to the kitchen. It seems to be a popular place for lunch meetings, so there are lots of professionals around. The prices were about what you’d expect for a higher end seafood chain that takes the care that they do. FWIW, they also have a loyalty program that costs $ 25 to join, but you get a $ 25 «welcome» reward and a $ 25 birthday reward, plus $ 25 back for every $ 250 spent. It’s good across all the Landry’s brands.

I loved my meal at Mitchell’s Fish Market! I got the fruitti di mare paste: a generous assortment of seafood including scallops, mussels, shrimp, and calamari over pappardelle(my favorite pasta!). You get the choice of a tomato-based sauce, or white wine sauce, and I got the latter. I definitely don’t enjoy a thick, alfredo-y sauce because it’s too rich, so I really enjoyed this sauce as it was not heavy or overly creamy. The entrée also comes with two big pieces of savory garlic bread propped up on the edges of the bowl. I was full, but not too uncomfortably full after polishing my plate. Our waitress was extremely friendly and patient with taking our orders and making honest recommendations about the menu. Truthfully, I didn’t expect this restaurant to be anything too special, but it has been one of my best dining experiences in Michigan so far.

This place is in a super classy outdoor mall, so of course we had worked up an appetite shopping! The ambiance was amazing here and they have a really nice area where you can see the raw oysters and fresh fish fillets. I felt we were under dressed in our leggings, skirts, and sweaters it was so nice! The server was very kind and efficient. And our salads came out super fast. I also must mention the fresh anchovies on my Caesar Salad were delicious! They tasted exactly like fresh anchovies are supposed to taste! The pasta in the Fruitti di Mare Pasta I had, with the white wine sauce, was house-made and great! I do wish there had been much more the sauce however, as once the seafood and sauce were gone, I was still left with a large bowl of kinda dry pasta. But if we are in the neighborhood again, we will definitely come back!

One of my favorite restaurants. I’ve never had anything bad here. I love the fresh sour dough bread that they bring to the table. It’s the only place in town I trust to eat raw oysters. My favorite is Shang Hai with whatever fish I want that day. They do have an option to get salmon, shrimp, scallops Shang hai. Shang hai is spinach, soy sauce and ponzu sauce mixed with ginger and other seasonings and sticky rice. You can buy fresh fish to take home and cook.
