Solid pizza with friendly, fast service! Called in around a quarter to ten and was told they would have my extra large pizza ready in 25 minutes. Got jalapeño, pepperoni, and garlic. They do not skimp on toppings as the pizza was quite spicy(as requested). The gentleman applied a coupon which saved me some cash and gave me a free liter of soda. The crust was nice and not soggy and the cheese was cooked perfectly over a nice sauce. Will definitely order again. They also have pieces by the slice that looked really good, too!

This is of a low value: Lots of crust, little sauce, little cheese, and the price is higher than other local chains like Beggars Aurelios or Sanfratellos. I’d say it’s about half the cheese that they should use. They make up for it with lots of dough as a filler.

Ordered a pizza for delivery last night and the pizza was cold upon delivery. The delivery was also late. Once we heated the pizza up in the microwave, it was good.

Against our better judgement we decided to order one last time just to give them a chance to get an order right. Of course the pizza was cold and worst of all the cannoli was moldy. That’s it! I’m done with this place. Ricos is across the street and always has good pizza. I thought it was a little pricey but I’m going to give it a try. Goodbye Cooneys.

The only pizza we ever order. Sausage is always perfect. I got the pizza for my office once and now it’s their go to every time

Great pizza but I think I found my calzone — first of all it’s monstrous but the best part is the rolled crust — just the way I like it, chewy and doughy! Will be coming back for this!

I like Waldo Cooney’s Pizza well enough. The problem, however, is that this place is super hit and miss. When it’s good? It is one of the best pizza places in Lansing. When it’s bad? I have to make some phone calls to get chicken that’s cooked. Their pizza is consistently pretty good. The sauce has a nice flavor, there’s plenty of cheese. When you order delivery, it comes pretty quickly, and it always arrived hot. If you stop by the store front you can get pizza by the slice as well, which is pretty cool too. Their beef sandwiches are pretty good too, I’d recommend getting cheese on it. Their cheese sticks are also pretty good and always This recent order, we got chicken dinners, and it was a perfectly acceptable dinner. The garlic bread was a bit dry, but we still ate it. Same with the cole slaw. The chicken, however, was good. It was cooked all the way through, hot, and juicy. The dinners come with garlic bread, fries, and slaw. We ordered a family meal with 16 pieces($ 24.49). Instead of coming in a big box or a bucket, we received four individual dinners. We got four clam-shells each with fries and 4 pieces of chicken in it. This would have been nice, had we had four people. It ultimately ended up being just way too many containers, and it was hard to get things organized in our fridge when it came to putting leftovers away. The chicken is what I order here the most, and it’s one of the better ones in the Lansing area. For pizza, it’s alright, but you can order from better places in the same area.

I really like their pizza, crunchy crust, flavorful sauce. Generous toppings. Their sandwiches are good as well, my husband always orders sausage and peppers and the beef and sausage and they are always heavy and very TASTEY. The pasta is kinda meh, bland sauce and smaller portion(state line pizzas is very good with a bigger portion but they quit half price pasta Wednesday so we have no reason left to order from them) Oh also they have coupons for free cheesy bread and its a LOT of cheesy bread! Bonus ;) Waldo’s is now the best pizza place near calumet city as far as we are concerned.

They are right down the street and my husband and kids love their pizza!!! The price for a Jumbo, which is a pretty big pizza is on $ 20.80 and that’s with tax. I would definitely recommend this place if your trying to feed several people.

So we quit ordering from Waldo Cooney’s years ago, and tonight our favorite place was closed so we figured what the heck let’s give them a try again. We probably will wait another 5 or 6 years before making that mistake again. We ordered 2 pizzas, over $ 50, was told delivery would take and hour, an hour and ½ later we called to see where our pizza was, we were told it was on the way. The driver pulled up about 15 minutes later and we watched as he finished up a phone call taking another 5 minutes before even getting out of the car. We were told by the driver that another driver got scared to drive in the rain and returned back to the pizza place, so he had to bring it out. So almost 2 hours later and we finally had pizza, ice cold, because well doesn’t everyone prefer it that way. We really didn’t, but what were we going to do by this point kids had to get to bed, etc. I personally didn’t like the taste of the pizza itself, my husband and kids said it was okay, all of us agreed it sure wasn’t worth $ 50 and waiting almost 2 hours to get. So my advice, if you order go pick it up, or you might or might not get it when they say,

I am a Virgo… so I am a born critic. So when I find a place that impresses me I have learned to do the right thing and pay a compliment where a compliment is owed. I have lived in Lansing 4 ½ years, I have tried various pizza places in the area: Jimmy K’s, Beggars and Eduardo’s; while the service was good at each, the quality was not consistent. I was referred to Waldo Cooney’s by my daughter who is a student at a local grammar school. Her class ordered pizza from Waldo Cooney’s. She is also a natural born critic, although not a Virgo, because the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. She loved Waldo’s Cooney and asked that I order it because we do pizza at least one night a week. I ordered it. I loved IT!!! I have ordered it as a carry out and also as delivery. The quality was the BOMB both times. As further validation that this place is good… my husband used to work at a pizza parlor in his youth. He was the pizza maker. This is the first place he has not complained about, with the exception that they give a free liter of RC with the Jumbo Pizza… he doesn’t drink RC. As for the Carry out Service — the employees are friendly — no prejudice exhibited… not that I experienced that at any of the other pizza places I mentioned earlier in the review, however I have experienced it at some establishments in this area no matter if I am showing up in casual gear or a suit after leaving my Fortune 500 corporate job. As for the Waldo Cooney Delivery Service — For me I love the fact that the pizza is HOT when it arrives and the crust is fresh and delicious. We have received pizzas where the pizza is no longer hot when delivered, or the cheese sticks to the top of the pizza container, or the crust is stale and hard in comparison to the fresh toppings. I HIGHLYRECOMMENDWALDOCOONEYS… after a bad experience with the Morgan Park location many, many years ago, I would never think I would be writing this. However, the Lansing location more than earned this review. They pleased a family of picky eaters with good olé’ fashioned, good, quality food preparation and service. If they read this– Please don’t change a thing you are doing today.

I wanted to wait and finish this review after I’ve given them a few tries. You know, they might’ve gotten lucky the first time out of the gate. After ordering from them several times, I’ve found their service to be consistent and reliable. They have decent pizza, and their delivery times were accurate. I’m not going to get into an arguement about who has a better pizza. We all have our favorites, but these guys are good. They beat the national chains by far, and I would much rather support someone local. I was dubious about them delivering to me, since I live in Indiana, but they were the ones that dropped off the coupon at my house, so I figured, what the heck. Speaking of coupons, they usually have an offer of free cheese bread with your order, PLUS a 2 liter to go with it! So you can feed your ravenous children and their friends(or just your crazy Uncle Larry), and still have leftovers! I’m definitely going to order from them again.
