Chilitos has a nice, peaceful environment with great food. The patio is nice place to sit on a warm evening. I really enjoyed my food and the great specials they have. Monday is dollar taco night and two dollar margarita night. Great place!

Our favorite dish here is the red chile huevos rancheros with meat. We think this is one of the best Mexican food restaurants in Las Cruces. Owned and operated by the Perez family they have several locations around town.

Nothing special. They need to do something to give the customer a reason to come back. Food was OK. Service was Ok. Prices were OK. There are too many Mexican Food restaurants in Las Cruces to be mediocre and hope to succeed.

The food is great and the prices are also. I would give 5 stars but the service was the worst that I have had in las cruces. The server never came to refill water or check on us. We wanted dessert but it took too long because we kept wAiting for him to come. After 39 minutes we gave up and I had to go to the front and ask the hostess if she could get out check for us. But I loved the food so I will probably go back

The service is absolutely horrible. The waitress seems like she doesn’t want to work here. The salsa is good but it’s hard to eat without chips.

I think I might stop coming to this location. The server this time brought my food out and placed it in front of me and when I asked her if this was the correct menu item I ordered and she said no and explained that they have new cooks and they messed up. Me, not wanting to wait more time for a new meal, I kept the wrong one she put in front of me. There is always something with this place.

We visited Las Cruces this past weekend. After going to Chilitos, I know I will not be back. The server didn’t care if we needed anything to eat or drink. The food took a long time to get to us. It turns out they put our orders in to-​go boxes then transferred them to our plates and heated them, which really dried them out. Never again!

Chilitos is a favorite with us! We love to sit out on the patio and enjoy a bucket of Coronitas! The staff is always friendly and courteous. Love, love, love the chicken tacos and their salsa is the best!

I used to love coming to Chilitos but the last few times I’ve been here it has been really bad. This time I had to return my chef salad because of rotten lettuce. Instead of another salad I ordered a green chili cheeseburger which used to be excellent. There was absolutely no taste. Totally bland! With all the new restaurants coming to town I don’t think I’ll be back to this one.

Had the New Mexico Classic chili cheeseburger and I remembered what I miss back in ohio. Huge handmade burger and large cut fries. I wish I could have eaten there more often. NM chili is spicy for us who haven’t been back I a while.

Had the Green Chile Huevos Rancheros. It was quite good though I thought the sauce was a bit runny. I would have hotter chile. But it was flavorful. The chips and salsa were very good. I tend to prefer chunky salsa, but theirs is almost puréed. But the flavor was right on. I’d certainly go back even if not my favorite in Las Cruces.

Really good food, really terrible service. As much as I enjoy their Mexican dishes, the service really drags down their score, imo. The Chilitos on the other side of town has much better service.

I must disgree with some other posters. The food is good, but there’s better in LC. Comparable with Delicias, but not quite as good in my opinion.

Chilitos provides a nice environment for dining. The food, when prepared correctly, is tasty, especially for those that have problem with spicy fare. The red sauce is exceptional except for a lack of any real spiciness (something for which Las Cruces is known). My wife and I have, at time, had fantastic meals here, but have had equal disappointing experiences as well. Last meal, Saturday around 4:00p.m. was only luke-​warm to the touch and the sopapillas were soggy and did not even really puff up. I have been told that there is a difference between weekday and evening dining (great cooks) and daily weekend dining (terrible), but have not fully put this to the test. All and all, I cannot highly recommend as the quality of food can vary quite a bit, but when it is good, it is really good!
As a side note, we have yet to have a badly prepared meal at the other Chilitos location.

Chilito’s has the best mexican food in Las Cruces. Their tacos are excellent and their enchiladas are very good too. My wife and I used to eat here before going to Aggie basketball games. It was a gameday tradition!

Consistently good food, though not spectacular Mexican. I enjoyed the relleno both times I was there. Weekday and evenings carry better service, brunch leaves something to be desired. Good ice tea (not sweetened) and casual atmosphere make it a good place to eat.
