I was there with Family and wanted to have a 5 star meal, well that was not on the menu I guess. Our server was nice and that’s the only reason I gave a 1 star, we had a serving of bread, ate it and asked someone for more the guy seemed irritated and brought us cold bread and there was only 4 in the basket but there was 5 of us. My wife ordered The rib-eye but she received prime rib, it took the 35 minutes to bring us our food and there were only 3 other tables with people at them, then it came time to ask for the check and it took an additional 22 minutes for our server to bring it to me then it took 15 minutes for him to return with my card. Our bill was 179.00, no manager around to talk to so we paid and left. We will be going back to Laughlin but we will NEVER go back to this restaurant. I do not suggest anyone eat there.

Hands down the worst service I have personally witnessed. When you spend $ 200 on 4 steaks you expect to be treated a little better then a McDonald’s. Will not be returning in the future.

Food is great. Service is ok. Seems like no one has taken the time to train the staff. Watched the manager discipline a waiter in the middle of the dining room and then have a little fit.

Absolutely the worst steak I have ever had in a steak house. Through waiter recommended bone in Ribeye. It didn’t even look good, and it tasted horrible. I ate it all because I was drinking scotch and had to eat some beaf. If you feel like having steak go to Golden Nugget or Aviv resort.

This was a nice surprise!!! We went down to have dinner and followed this amazing smell. We were seated right away and the service was amazing. Everyone was extremely friendly and they were very helpful in answering our questions about the city. The wine was great and the steaks were DELICIOUS. If you have a chance you should try them out.

Had dinner at the Steakhouse 2÷19÷16, well attempted to anyway. We sat down ordered drinks, apps and main course. Prior to apps being served the power went out, the entire strip was down. Found out it wasn’t coming back on for hours. So our waiter, ten minutes later, explains they can only serve soup and salads. Knowing we likely couldn’t get food elsewhere we reluctantly ordered soup and salad. Mind you, not sure why, we could no longer order drinks, ok we could order soda, water or tea. Waiter said system was down. So if system was down how can we order soup and salads? Hmm! At the least they should have compted a round of drinks. Didn’t happen. Food was marginal. Would not recommend this restaurant.

I was here 20 years ago and loved it then and still do! The Steakhouse interior hadn’t changed(they are planning a remodel in October) and thank goodness the food hadn’t either! I love the idea of a table-side salad cart so you can customize your salad as you wish with the ingredients on the cart. You can choose from; baby corn, olives, croutons, sunflower seeds, cheese, onions, etc. They offer a bread basket which has a pretzel stick, nut bread, and white rolls. They come with a delicious garlic-chive whipped butter, cheese and port spread of course regular butter… all wonderful! We ordered their shrimp cocktail for an appetizer. Large, succulent shrimp with a wonderful cocktail sauce. We then had their table-side salad cart… love love love! I ordered their filet mignon with s sweet potato which was cooked to perfection!!! We also ordered grilled asparagus that had a unique flavor that we enjoyed! My husband had the prime rib which was great too! Last but not least, the service here is supreme!!! We had Chris as our waiter and Joe as his assistant and they were absolutely terrific… couldn’t have asked for better :)

Found this place due to other reviews on Unilocal and since we were going to Laughlin for our Anniversary we decided to go on a nice dinner. From the moment we entered we were greeted by very kind staff and they seated us at a very nice romantic table. Our waiter came over right away and got our drink order and held a nice conversation with us. We ordered the New York strip steak and it was so juicy and good! I also like the salad cart that was pretty neat too. At the end of our dinner our waiter brought us a small little wedding cake for our anniversary I thought that was very sweet!

Hat’s off to this unique steakhouse. You are a breath of fresh air in a sea of similar steakhouses. Food was good too!

With claims of being awarded«best steakhouse in Laughlin», I had high hopes, but found out that they really aren’t all they’re cracked up to be. The three meals I had went like this: Swordfish — dry. Long wait. Ate it all. Ribeye — Unacceptably overcooked, seems as though an unclean pan was used. Went right back to the kitchen. Twin lobster tail — this was good and not too expensive. Tails are on the smaller side, and you don’t get the table side salad thing with this. No worries, it’s okay. The ambiance is what you pay for here, I think. It just screams«we’re having an expensive dinner, so this moment is extra special». If that’s what you’re after, and you don’t want to travel to another steakhouse, then this is your place!

So we came here for my 30th bday because we saw some great reviews and we thought we would get dressed up and have a great dinner. Well this place is not dressy at all you could walk in with shorts and flop flops if you wanted to. The salad was actually disgusting. My filet was actually very good with the garlic mashed potatoes. The mac and chees I had to send back. It tasted like alfredo sauce! Don’t come here if youre expecting something fancy because trust me you will be disappointed

Went to have dinner here this evening and we were turned away because they were out of food. I have been coming here for 22+ years and have never experienced this. The whole hotel(Tropicana) has gone down hill. The comped room isn’t even worth it anymore.

Ate here two weeks ago and was very pleased. Only gave 4 stars although because I didn’t have a salad but others at our table were not impressed with the table side salad too much dressing or the caesar salad. We went here because we saw the sign that said lobster tails for $ 19.99, they were good size and everyone really enjoyed them. The grilled aspargas is to die for and the waiter even suggested a cocktail for me which was delicious, I had two! overall definitely worth eating here, also Tropicana was giving you back ½ of what you lost in free play up to $ 100 bucks which was a plus considering all we did was lose!

Although my favorite cut was temporarily off the menu, I gave this place a shot because of the good reviews here on Unilocal.I had the 16oz Prime Rib. It was really more like a 24oz cut. It was huge, juicy and tender. The flavor was all as good as my favorite, «Five Crowns» of Corona del Mar. The salad and potato were perfect; in fact I could go on and on about how much I loved the potato but that would seem silly. For dessert we had the chocolate explosion — all I can say is «WOW». The atmosphere is so classy and top-notch that you may think you’re dreaming. It just doesn’t get any better! The booths, the tables, the décor, all first class! The employees were also the best of the best. Prim, proper, clean, sharp, polite and making absolute sure that everything meets your expectations. Sure it was expensive but I didn’t mind because I got to experience the very BEST. 22% tip for impressing the hell out of me!!!

Amazing!!! Never really paid much attention to this place all the times we have been here. This time we made a point of making reservations. I am not one for spending lots of money on food. We were pleasantly surprised the food was amazing and for a steakhouse the prices were reasonable and portion sizes were good. Would definitely go again.

I went to this resturant for some good food. NOT. I ordered the Swordfish and it was so over cooked I had to use a knife to cut it. My girlfrind ordered the Steak and Lobster the Steak was oily and the lobster was over cooked. STAYAWAY ffrom this place if you want a nice dinner. If your into over priced bad food then by all means stop on in.

We were in Laughlin a few day ago and stayed at the Tropicana again. Of course we ate dinner at The Steakhouse again also. This time we invited two friends to dine with us. Again, the food was GREAT. The service was GREAT. Again, I ordered the rib eye char’d rare. It was perfect. My wife had her fillet cooked the same way and loved it. Our friends were most impressed and it sounded like they’d be back. I know we will.

I can’t believe The Steakhouse has not been independently reviewed before on Unilocal, after being a headlining restaurant on the Laughlin dining scene for at least as long as 2000 when I bought a home here, and being voted Best Steakhouse in the tri-state area in local balloting for the past 12 consecutive years. With friends in tow, it was time for me to revisit this venerable institution, and renew old dining ties here. While the menu has changed appreciably since my last encounter, I found that the food and service remain spot on. After being presented with an impressive and towering Bread Basket that contained Lavosh, Pretzel Bread, large rolls, and rustic slices of brown bread, augmented by Port Wine Cheese, regular butter, and Rosemary Herb Butter, we opened with Chilled Shrimp, which consisted of thick massive shrimps – but only 3 of them – accompanied by what was called Spicy Cocktail Sauce but to me was quite pleasant and relatively mild. The flesh of these white shrimp with orange accents was cold, firm, crunchy, sweet, and very tasty. Next up for me – since I forgot to order soup until later – was an included Dinner Salad made up of selected ingredients presented tableside from the Salad Cart. Here diners are presented with a fine array of choices listed on a menu paddle, and there is no limitation on the number of available edible items that one may pick, including bacon, artichoke hearts, croutons, Bay Shrimp, Red Onions, Black Olives, cheese, Pepperoncinis, and mushrooms, to be placed over mixed greens. Choice of salad dressings include Italian, Blue Cheese, Ranch, and Raspberry Vinaigrette. I chose the latter, and found the dressing to be good but thicker than most vinaigrettes, with a strong raspberry flavor. The only additional ingredient I would have liked to see was egg. What was billed as Sweet French Onion Soup was truly that. Served in the cast iron pot in which it had been finished, this soup was very hot to the tongue, and featured cut up Green Onions and caramelized White Onions swimming in a beef-based broth that exhibited no baked crust of hardened cheese on top but instead big islands of melting clots of Swiss Cheese that cleaved to the soup spoon like taffy. It was very good indeed! The Steak and Seafood Trio was quite a surprise as an entrée. At first members of my party thought this was a choice of three alternative land and sea combinations. Wrong! Diners get all three! Individual portions are small, but they add up to 6 or more ounces of Filet, 2−½ ounces of Canadian Lobster Tail meat, a big shrimp, and a sufficient supply of crabmeat over Filet. Plated side by side were Filet & Lobster, Filet &BBQ Shrimp, and Filet Oscar. Included also were lengths of asparagus, some Onion Straws, and a choice of Red-Skinned Mashed Potatoes, Baked Potato, or Baked Sweet Potato. I opted for a Baked Sweet Potato, while Diane selected a loaded Baked Potato with bacon, butter, and melting cheese. I was very fond of my tasty honey-flavored and perfectly prepared Baked Sweet Potato, and anyone could see that Diane’s hot baker was a star. She even saved it to eat by itself as a bridge between entrée and dessert. Two of my very Petite Filets were perfectly medium rare as ordered, and the other just leaned a bit to rare. The tender meat was enhanced by specially ordered Bordelaise Sauce that to my delight included large chunks of mushrooms and a few cooked Grape Tomatoes. The Canadian Lobster was sweet; the thin trail of BBQ Sauce on the single large Grilled Shrimp was dark and strong but not overpowering; and the Filet Oscar tasted quite authentic with the housemade Bearnaise Sauce ladled on top. Since we went this far, why stop now? So Diane and I split a Warm Chocolate Brownie Explosion, with great-tasting Chocolate Whipped Cream and Vanilla Ice Cream, and a moist Chocolate Walnut Brownie embellished by flakes of White Chocolate and unseen Milk Chocolate, while the plate itself was decorated with a strawberry and drizzled with Chocolate Sauce. Meanwhile our friends shared a lovely and immense slice of Raspberry Cheesecake on a plate decorated with assorted berries and Raspberry Sauce. Service was exceptional, and the railroad ambiance surrounding our comfortable booth classy. This fine steakhouse has not lost a step since my last visit over a year ago. Next time I will not wait so long to return.
