Food is edible, not steakhouse quality by any chance. Not to mention that the steakhouse itself looks like a café now. The old«Hickory Pit look» was more suitable for a steakhouse. Now they got tables lined up in café style, no decorations or even room between tables. Just very sad looking. Ordered a kale salad; the kale was disgusting old looking, not to mention more chewy than jerky. The poppyseed dressing was the best part of my salad. Mushroom side was under seasoned and the mushrooms were black. I personally do not know any kind of mushroom type which would be black black. My husband had halibut which was dry and pretty small. The best part of his dish were the asparagus. Sad. Not recommended.

Been many times before the remodel and it was good. This last visit though was fantastic. Ordered the tomahawk steak. It was one of the best we’ve had. Chilean sea bass was cooked perfectly. Can’t wait to go back!

Again outstanding service and meals. We ate Christmas dinner at the Hickory Pit. My steak was cooked perfectly. Our son had the stuffed crab excellent. We couldn’t have asked for anything more perfect. Keep up the great work.

We always spend Christmas in Laughlin. When we are there we eat one really nice meal for Christmas. This is the second meal we have eaten at the Hickory Pit in the last 2 years. This year they updated the restaurant and it really looks first class. The food is excellent and the service is impeccable. The food can be a bit pricey but it’s well worth it. I would put it up against the Range at Harrah’s.

We had dinner here last night and really enjoyed every bite. I had the bone in Ribeye, my father the petite Primerib it was delicious. OMG the French onion soup was to die for and the Crab Cakes were amazing too. In a little town like Laughlin there aren’t many fine dining options but this is certainly one.

Had Dinner with Family here last night! First time since their renovation. You now enter from the bar area! The menu has changed a little bit and prices have gone up a little BUT that being said… the food was delicious! I had the fillet & coconut shrimp and was not disappointed! Another person in our party split the Crab Legs with someone and they were as good as they always have been. And the Prime Rib… A huge cut of meat and was delicious!!! Service was Great! Food came out in a timely manner and was Hot! Will definitely be going back!!!

Hour wait for food. Then it was cold. Prime rib tough. Been coming here for eight years. It used to be an excellent place. We won’t be back.

Wonderful food, service and wine. I had the escargot. It was garlicky and wonderful. The bread served with it was covered with cheese and complimented the dish well. The French onion soup was amazing and I had the filet, charred rare. Perfect. This was paired with a nice pinot noir. Definitely will return.

What a fabulous place to grab great service. We absolutely loved their attentiveness and the food was great. Asparagus and the steak were cooked perfectly too. Servings were bountiful. I ordered creamed spinach, asparagus, and sautéed mushrooms and my boyfriend ordered the steak and we still had leftovers. the leftover spinach was great the next morning with our eggs.

Great place for dinner. Features steak, seafood, and Italian specialties. Their French onion soup is great — not too salty and with the perfect proportion of onions, bread, and cheese. The lamb is excellent as is the Steak Diane. Both were served with sautéed spinach and a corn soufflé along with your choice of rice, baked potato or yam, or mashed garlic potatoes. Nice wine list. Service was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed Jose and his assistant Steven. Definitely recommend.

They make wonderful food, for $ 19 – 39 a plate it better be. The staff is top notch, I left a $ 13 tip, which is more then I usually spend on dinner.

«Best Ahi Tuna Ever ! « My wife and I went to the Hickory Pit Steakhouse which is on the bottom floor of the Edgewater Casino in Laughlin Nevada for our New Years Eve Dinner. We have been to the Hickory Pit several times before and always have a good meal. Bo and Lorena our servers were very friendly and did anything we wanted to make us happy. The Hickory Pits variety of freshly cook breads before dinner is wonderful, especially with the huge bowl of French onion soup I had. Every time we come to the Hickory Pit either my wife, or I have the Ahi Tuna. It is the best we have ever had anywhere. A large piece of Ahi Tuna cooked perfectly is pan seared, encrusted with black sesame seeds, and served with a Ponzu and Wasabi glaze sauce. I also had the huge baked Yam with Cinnamon Butter. It was delicious ! The meal also comes with a delicious side of Virginia corn pudding. It is so good ! My wife had a huge salad to start with, and then had the Fried Jumbo Shrimp with horseradish cocktail sauce. The shrimp were very large, with a delicious crusty exterior. You have to try the Hickory Pit Steakhouse when you come to Laughlin Nevada, and especially try the Ahi Tuna !

First off my family and I have been going here for over 20yrs. Long over do for a overhaul. The tap water taste like it came from the pool.(That’s what they cook in) They rather spend more on instant powder mash potatoes than give you a real potato. Bake potatoes are now extra!?! But the odd thing is they will give you sour cream, chives and bacon bits for your mash?!? No more salad or soup with major entrées. They blame it on a bigger and better cut of meat. That’s a lie as far as my eyes can tell. Plus if you use a voucher you end up paying $ 25.99 anyway and you still don’t get a full meal with soup or salad or bake potato. How cheap! You also think that a place that’s lucky to do 40 covers a night could open up on time. I will admit I’m 39 not 59 like most of there loyal snow birds. But that would explain why they will never be more than what they are. Poor management, and the food and beverage director needs to eat out more at more successful restaurants to appreciate what they don’t know or offer his customers. Best of luck to this group cause with the new competition moving in I’ll go vote with my $$$ elsewhere. The only time to come eat here is if you get a free voucher to do so. Not the staffs fault for poor service. They can only be as good as the leader. So the bar haven’t been set very high.

Diane and I had another very good recent dining experience at Hickory Pit, but it was not as stellar as the one last reported on. In the complimentary Bread Basket, Cheese Bread was its usual good self. But hard white bread was just okay. Oysters Rockefeller were first rate, and a really large crock of French Onion Soup was hot, excellent, and cheesy. A salad of mixed greens, Red Onion, cucumbers, tomato, croutons, and Bleu Cheese Dressing and Bleu Cheese Crumbles was good. But, the dressing was runnier than I prefer. Potato Sausage Soup tasted very good with very spicy cuts of sausage well modulated by mild chunks of potato, celery, carrots, and green beans. Yet my lips were on fire for 20 minutes! It was a slow, leisurely meal! Diane enjoyed Twin Lobster Tails with Drawn Butter, while I focused on 1−½ lbs. of King Crab Legs with Drawn Butter. The crab legs were somewhat water-logged, and became cold fast. A Baked Potato was very well prepared, and a side of cooked kernels of corn was merely okay. Neither the lobster nor the King Crab Legs were very sweet. A large slice of Cinnamon Apple Pie set like bricks, with Vanilla Ice Cream, supplied a very good finish to our dinner. Service was good but imperfect. Entrees were initially switched, and Diane’s plate had spinach on it after she had specifically requested no vegetables other than a Baked Potato on her plate. The miscues were minor overall, and we will surely be back!

In the Laughlin, there’s really not too many places to grab a bite, at least a decent one. I recently discovered Saltgrass Steakhouse in Golden Nugget and since I loved them, was directed to try this place. Located inside the Edgewater Hotel, you will have to trek downstairs to find this place, I ate alone this evening so wait was very minimal. Since I gave up red meat for Lent, steak at a steakhouse was out of limits. So I settled for the following; –Spinach Artichoke Dip: I felt that it was tasty and flavorful, but was too runny. –Salmon: Mine was undercooked and actually near raw in the middle. I was disappointed with this and they restaurant offered to comp my desert. –Tiramisu: Absolutely the best item I got here. Fluffy and slightly rich. The service here is top notch and the prices are average to other mid-priced steakhouses. I was a little disappointed with the food since it lacked some taste or wasn’t fully cooked. They comped dessert, so I raised my rating from 2 stars to 3 stars. But I won’t forget that this is a steakhouse. After Easter, I may come back to try their Filet Mignon. For less than $ 30, I don’t have much to lose. We’ll see and if the steaks are good, then my review will improve as well.
